The upcoming 9800X3D is probably gonna be the first to maintain locked 120/60 in RPCS3 thanks to its AVX 512 support.

@@stevensv4864 the 7800x3d has avx512 support, the 9900k does not apparantly after a Google search. What he may have meant is that the 9800x3d is newer and faster and might give us a locked 60/120fps experience

Thanks for the video, I plan to use this CPU (or its successor) in my next build, but for some reason there aren't that many videos on youtube showing its emulation performance.

Awesome video! I have a 3080ti and a 5600x, using PCSX2 latest nightly and NO: Commander I get fps drops. Hopefully 9800X3D will help resolve that lol

PCSX2 is super old, a 5600x should be more than capable of running it without frame drops, I should check the settings first (some games need specific settings to run well) cause spending a lot of money on a new CPU while it doesn't solve your issue is nog a great feeling

@@yomo68 No problem! I will keep that in mind, I tried to run SSX Tricky on there. But to render the snow correctly I needed to turn on a heavy setting and I get fps drops sometimes which is wild, maybe your solution will help there too I'll look into it haha

Killzone 3 is one of those games where it is a PS3/Emulator issue since it uses too much of the singular PS3 architecture, to bruteforce it through emulation you will need a lot of horsepower, something that even the fastest CPU out now can't achieve.

Too bad its iGPU is worse than the 7700x's, as far as I know. And an iGPU can suffice for lots of emulation, as I know from the 2016's HD530 for the Intel Skylake generation. This iGPU is physically sickening, it's so bad. Still, it still can do emulation and stuff like that. (Even the Switch.)
I believe they gave the 7800X3D something almost as bad, out of greed and callous elitism ("you shouldn't even use this"). Whereas the cheaper 7700X's is probably much better than what I was talking about and probably would give a smooth experience in most cases*.
So a comparison with the 7700X would be interesting here, regardless of whether with your dedicated graphics card or not.
*Part of that is maybe because AMD is traditionally good at spamming texture stuff. It's super fast in this, even when it's "slower" than the competition. This means it can use a minimum amount of hardware to give a significant boost to basic applications and games. If that explanation makes sense. That's also why sometimes they have a mysterious, pretty huge advantage (that is nowhere at other times)*.
It's partly that, but mostly that Intel back then wasn't even a GPU company in any real sense... Which makes AMD striving to "compete" with Intel's crappy iGPU from back then via their (AMD's) fastest CPU now all the stranger.
*(They also traditionally tend to have more TFLOPs on a card compared to the closest competitor, which however tends to get unused. I think the new Doom engine, with its famous AMD advantage, was an exception. Maybe the Horizon series.)

not only it's a good cpu overall, but it probably got a huge boost from AVX512 in rpcs3, which the 5800x3d does not contain =\
