    I should jump back into mine. But I have been having fun with my energy scatterguns on the F7A Mk2.

    Just escaped in a derelict vanguard warden at the security post. It got us away when our hacking guy died...and it got our crimestats away when we returned...

    Nice to see you showcasing the vanguard. They're my fav heavy fighters! I find myself going back to them even tho there's "better" ships in my hangar. Have you tried ballistic cannons/ad5b?

      @OneNutSupreme I'll definitely be giving this a try. I do hope the vanguards get some love from CIG.

    If you’re doing back to back PVE bounties, the best way to go is a mix of laser canons and ballistics (of similar velocity). Use the lasers to take down shields and ballistics + lasers to finish them off. You loose a little bit of efficiency but you can chain together so many bounties and preserve ammo and it’s still a lot of fun and engaging (cuz ballistics have great effects)

    I love balistic, but, lasers longevity is so much more powerful given they don't do THAT much less damage. I feel lasers need to burn out, so have limited 'ammo' also, or balistic need a lot more ammo.

    • @chrishoppner150
      @chrishoppner150 2 месяца назад

      Honestly, considering the potential 80% damage reduction ballistics have to deal with, I'm not convinced they do more damage at all lol

    • @OneNutSupreme

      They do, just when shields are down. I do have an idea to make this a little more optimal that I'm working on

    Wonder if that new Mirai heavy fighter that appears to have an interior, will give the old Harbinger and Warden a run for their money.
    If they make variants just like the Vanguard line, they most definitely will.

    • @OneNutSupreme
      @OneNutSupreme  2 месяца назад

      I'm definitely curious about it myself

    • @CatalystDestiny
      @CatalystDestiny 2 месяца назад +1

      Certainly is a huge question right now, especially with what looks like a turret rail on the mirai heavy. If that's the case the vanguard will need to be brought up to snuff, and what I think still needs to happen is the warden's turret upgraded and beefed up. The warden should be the gun heavier variant with the harbinger being the missile heavier variant in my view. Given how mirai stuff handles too it's going to be a very nimble heavy to go against the other heavies so I think the vanguard should just be upped on guns EVEN MORE to make it the absolute heavyweight brute that it's supposed to be when compared to the more nimble heavies like the scorpius, hurricane, lightning and next for absolutely sure the mirai heavy.

    • @Monk-Darlington
      @Monk-Darlington 2 месяца назад +2

      The vanguard needs a big boost to its fire power overall, it's kind of ridiculous compared to the fire power of much smaller fighters, f8c, hornet mk2, buccaneer etc

    • @CatalystDestiny
      @CatalystDestiny 2 месяца назад +1

      @@Monk-Darlington Yeah, in my view with the vanguard that is SUPPOSED to be a heavyweight bruiser, the fixed nose guns all need buffs for higher performance, and the turret weaps should honestly jump up to size 4 on the warden, maybe even size 5 with the harbinger being able to fully customize it's missile loadout better including full torpedo swapouts if the player wants to make it more missile firepower with the buffs to the nose weaps too.
      This would make it what it should be, just the straight highest direct punch in the face firepower with brute toughness but less agility than the other heavy fighters that are far more agile and rely on that as their strength.

    • @Monk-Darlington
      @Monk-Darlington 2 месяца назад

      @@CatalystDestiny totally agree, it's definitely a victim of the power creep that's happened over time.
      Hell, fix the main gun so it cannot be gimbledand and up it to a size 6 mount, bump the nose guns to size 3 and change the turret to quads, it's a big slow ship, but being infront of it should be a death sentence.

    There are a couple pip keybinds now that really help out. There's one that magnifies the actual HUD item quite a bit and another that keeps your pip from fading when you're 100% lined up on target. That and Gsafe on/off can all be set to one keybind so you hit it when you're ready to engage and toggle off when you're not. Combat vs non-combat. I also, after a loooong time, became a wholehearted lag pip convert :)

    • @OneNutSupreme

      I like swaping between the 2

    • @steppahouse
      @steppahouse 2 месяца назад

      @@OneNutSupreme Right. I think for larger, slower targets that won't be changing velocity a lot, lead works well. For smaller targets though, using lag allows me to watch the actual target rather than looking at my pip to aim. Helps watching their turns and what they might do next, especially in PVP.

    I'm yet to run my Vanguard in 2.23 but i'll have to dust it off and see what I can come up with. I've mostly been floating about in the A1 Spirit doing some testing although I've decided to bench it for various reasons.

      @@OneNutSupreme Overall, it's a solid and reliable ship. Great for heavy combat with its strong armour and weaponry. It always takes me a minute to adjust to its heaviness after flying more nimble ships, but it's worth it. I don't team up often, so I don't use the troop transport feature much. Still, it's nice to have the option for future.
