    She was on a manic episode that caused her to go into psychosis. 2 of my close friends suffer from bipolar disorder and we needed to involuntarily hospitalize them after they lost their minds in a prolonged manic state. Elisa must not have had the right medication. I think her doctor shouldn’t have let her travel in that state without the right meds.

      i can follow that the thing im confused about is how and/or why she got in the water tank. it was probably possible if she went up the fire stairs and climbed up in the water tank closed it from the inside and took her clothes off. I find it unlikely that someone in a manic episode did all that.

    • @carolmullins
      @carolmullins 2 года назад +70

      @@-sammot- she didn't get into the tank and close the lid behind her. When she was found the lid was open. If you understand that she was having a mental breakdown, then the leap to believing that she jumped into a water tank and took off her clothes is a short one. You can't rationalize irrational behavior displayed during a psychosis.

      Firstly, my condolences go out to the Lam family. But I also feel for the hotel maids and maintenance workers the world over who find suicide (or murder) victims in rooms. Sadly, it happens a lot and it is not in their job description. Emergency workers and law enforcement are also confronted with some really fucked up scenarios and I'm sure it disturbs them, but they're not walking into these situations blindly. This one was particularly ghastly in that hotel guests were ultimately the ones who made the discovery-however indirectly-in a most gruesome fashion. I never want to stay in a hotel again. I don't drink tap water anywhere-that's not so much the issue for me, but if you watch enough "BuzzFeed Unsolved" or "Forensic Files," or "Unsolved Mysteries" quarantine at home doesn't seem so bad.

Go up to the water tank and drown yourself. There are plenty of other ways to commit suicide. This girl was sad and mentally down about something. A water tank on a hotel room is a good way to hide your body. She didn’t want anyone finding her. Or she didn’t leave any notes. She smarter to fight voices telling her to kill herself She would have got a councilor. She went to the hotel on purpose and when the elevator opened it was because someone pressed the button o that door causing her to think that someone found out where she was going but that person went away. She can resist temptation like Jesus did. Can you picture another good way to hide your body if commuting suicide. As someone who also has Bipolar Disorder, her behavior in the camera footage isn't paranormal nor does it indicate her being chased. I myself have experienced a lot of similar episodes that have made me act like that and it's just because my brain naturally makes me act like that sometimes. She was experiencing a manic/paranoid episode, that's when your brain can make you do anything. Not only is that a reason enough, but she had also stopped taking her meds. Skipping meds as a Bipolar person very often results in a manic psychosis/manic episode.

      A Retarded Orange Ape In The White House Apparently only about a minute was cut from the video. It was stated due to the cut the time stamp was warped (unclear as you see in the video) and her mouth looked pixelated at one point. Police stated that sometimes videos are edited because a person might be on video who doesn’t pertain to the case so they “cut” them out.
      So what I’m thinking is that when she was waving her hands around outside the elevator, perhaps she was talking to someone..... either way I feel horrible because I think this girl was murdered and it got swept under the rug. Nothing adds up.

    This is technically solved.
    It was an accidental death caused by Elisa’s own mental illness. This cause of death upset a lot of people at the time.
    According to family she had a history of hallucinations of someone ‘hunting’ her, often hiding and scared someone was after her. She had medications to help her with her mental illness and she was living a normal life.
    Her family didn’t like the idea of Elisa travelling to LA on her own but because she was 21, she didn’t need their permission. Once there she stopped taking her meds. Accused her roommates of being demons trying to kill her so the hotel just moved her to her own private room.
    Elisa somehow got to the roof and climbed into the water tank (FYI the water tank door WAS OPEN WHEN THEY FOUND HER BODY)
    due to hypothermia (look it up)she took off her clothes whilst in the water tank
    This is just a sad case of a woman who died due to her mental illness and was made into a bigger case because a police officer mistakenly reported that the maintenance man found the water tank lid closed. No it was found open.
    RIP Elisa ❤

      looks like hotels dont want us to solve murders by reducing cameras on some angles of hotel. how about they make a hotel transparent that way we could see everything!

      Its Sharlele even if they did many places hate doing their job. They would probably manipulate the footage so they won't have to take responsibility. Look up Kendrick Johnson and even more recently Kenneka Jenkins.

    I get the bipolar part and that she might have missed her meds which causes hallucinations but what disturbing is the elevator door not closing for so long plus how would she leave to the roof, climb the ladder and lift the heavy lid, go in the tank, and take off her clothes?

    can someone explain why the elevator suddenly stops functioning when Elisa tries to go down to the hotel's lobby by pressing the buttoms?...the doors just stay wide open as if someone was pressing the buttoms from outside the hall making it impossible for the elevator to shut down its doors... Elisa even waits patiently for the elevator to take her down but it doesn't do anything... so she gets out .... and after Elisa leaves the elevator... the doors close and miracously the elevator starts functioning

    • @JHsweeeeeeet
      @JHsweeeeeeet 7 лет назад +72

      She pressed the bottom button, which has been proven to be a 'pause' button, so the elevator would stay open at least 2 minutes, for when someone moving in or out can transport furniture etc... immediately after she presses this button, you can see the door start to slide slightly as if to close, then it moves back...

    It’s unfortunate what happened to Elisa but I concur with the ruling of accidental death. No foul play was noted at any point and the toxicology report was negative for drugs or alcohol but it did report low levels of her bipolar meds which would make sense that she was probably going through hallucinations in the elevator (plus she had history of this). The doors didn’t close possibly due to pushing the hold button without realizing it and caused her to become even more paranoid so she walks away from the elevator to look for another way out. She probably then sees the window down the hall, climbs out and uses the fire escape stairs to go up to the roof which is why the alarm never sounded on the roof door. The documentary also mentions that the canines lost her scent at the window. She somehow makes it to the water tank, possibly confusing this is a “safe hiding spot” to try and get away from whatever her mind was telling her. The maintenance guy also said he found the lid open and not closed. Since he spoke Spanish, this was probably lost in translation at the time.

      Still don't explain why the elevator footage was edited before police got it . Here's what happened . Who ever was by the elevator killed her and stashed her body on the fire escape . Then when they could safely move it they put it in the water tank where they know the police already looked . Just my theory

    • @ToadisBetter
      @ToadisBetter 3 года назад +1

      Did they find her clothes in the tank with her ?? Could be he stripped her naked to wash the evidence off her clothes .

    • @ToadisBetter
      @ToadisBetter 3 года назад +23

      Also the whole deal is based on a guy who worked at the hotel saying the lid was open . Most likely he is the one who put her there . Think about it who found her ?? Who has a key to the roof ? Who has access to the cameras ?? The cops would of noticed an open water tank .

    Just seen this case on Netflix and I noticed the maintenance man said he seen her float to the top white like a ghost , so I Googled how long it takes body to float and it says 3 to 4 days .. that a big time difference and he just happened to be there when her body floated to top of water ??????
