Allen Vizzutti always looks like he rolled out of bed, saw part 1/2, thought, 'Nah, I wasn't in that enough' grabbed him trumpet, no warm-up, took the video and sent it over. so effortless, amazing
For those wondering about the Wayne triple A - the story behind it is that someone was bad mouthing GR mouthpieces (Wayne plays his own signature series of GR mouthpieces) and so Wayne pulled out his phone and recorded himself doing that
My father was offered 1st trumpet to Harry James (but turned HJ down since his father passed at that time), and his favorite was Doc. Always loved his tone!
My parents saw Maynard live at "Shelly's Manne-Hole" in Hollywood, California in the late 1950's. They said he was laying on his back on the stage playing above High C. Fun!
There's literally so many other great trumpet players out there that make double Cs sound good besides the ones you mentioned. A lot of them are in this video.
Y'know. High G above the staff is really hard to play. But my god, when you replay the video after all the millions of ledger lines notes, it makes high G sound low. Idk how, but it does 😂😂😂
@@TrAy_TrAy_ToAsTyin my estimation, 95% of all trumpeters to ever pick up the instrument, at any point in their lives, will NEVER play the G we’re referring to, and that’s ok!
thanks for introducing me to George Hogg. Not only does he have a super clean embouchure and his trumpet pointed straight ahead, he also showed incredible flexibility by going from the double D down to pedal D at 8:23. And he can hit them perfectly too s shown in 9:04
Watching this, I thought to myself "where's Arturo?" They even showed a clip of Jon Faddis where he was on stage with Arturo, I was going bonkers. But then, of course Arturo was all over the back end of this vid, playing in to the stratosphere!
This is a very good video, good editing although some names didn’t appear clearly. It shows the greatness of the trumpet and the effort of those players to fly to the limits. I reject criticism relating high notes. Those fine players go through the range from low to high.... Aim High!

Hey! I made a comment on your second part video, I'm guessing you had to remove the video. But there was a song that I wanted to know the name of and it's been bugging me. Do you have the video still? I might have you mixed up with a different person

I like the ones where they're actually playing something musical AND playing those ridiculously amazing screamers. The squeaks are fun, though.

Mark Van Cleave just casually breaking the sound barrier in the last one is crazy.
Alright you win, before I started the video I didn't think there would be a higher clip than that Rashawn Ross/Monette one lol
