    Allen Vizzutti always looks like he rolled out of bed, saw part 1/2, thought, 'Nah, I wasn't in that enough' grabbed him trumpet, no warm-up, took the video and sent it over. so effortless, amazing

    I like the ones where they're actually playing something musical AND playing those ridiculously amazing screamers. The squeaks are fun, though.

    For those wondering about the Wayne triple A - the story behind it is that someone was bad mouthing GR mouthpieces (Wayne plays his own signature series of GR mouthpieces) and so Wayne pulled out his phone and recorded himself doing that

      My father was offered 1st trumpet to Harry James (but turned HJ down since his father passed at that time), and his favorite was Doc. Always loved his tone!

      My parents saw Maynard live at "Shelly's Manne-Hole" in Hollywood, California in the late 1950's. They said he was laying on his back on the stage playing above High C. Fun!

    Cat Anderson, Sandoval and Faddis managed to make actual music out of those out of the ceiling notes. The others sound like study exercises.

      There's literally so many other great trumpet players out there that make double Cs sound good besides the ones you mentioned. A lot of them are in this video.

    Y'know. High G above the staff is really hard to play. But my god, when you replay the video after all the millions of ledger lines notes, it makes high G sound low. Idk how, but it does 😂😂😂

      ⁠@@TrAy_TrAy_ToAsTyin my estimation, 95% of all trumpeters to ever pick up the instrument, at any point in their lives, will NEVER play the G we’re referring to, and that’s ok!

    thanks for introducing me to George Hogg. Not only does he have a super clean embouchure and his trumpet pointed straight ahead, he also showed incredible flexibility by going from the double D down to pedal D at 8:23. And he can hit them perfectly too s shown in 9:04

    This is a very good video, good editing although some names didn’t appear clearly. It shows the greatness of the trumpet and the effort of those players to fly to the limits. I reject criticism relating high notes. Those fine players go through the range from low to high.... Aim High!

    Idk why but for the life of me i can't find a recording of that Maynard song from 6:39. I'm almost positive it's Manteca but there's a specific recording of that end solo and it's nowhere on YT so far as i know. I would love to find the album it's on
