    Definitely agree with the ban for all that guy's friends. I've watched the footage, they're all encouraging him and none try to stop him. Nobody in that party ever had safety in mind so you can't take the risk with any of them.

      This is why I think the ban was fair, from what you said about the footage they were as involved. But if he just did it outta the blue to suprrise his friends...it would have been massively unfair.

    The guy who jumped probably had no idea how close he came to not surviving to be punished. The maximum survivable fall into water for a sober person is around 160 ft. (according to a Mythbusters experiment). He was probably drunk and that saved his life (apparently drunk people crumple more on impact drastically increasing their chances of surviving). At 120 ft. an object would hit the water at 96 km/h.

    I do know a cruise ship's captain who has been in service for quite a few years. This would be a well known British cruise line! He told me that he had to order an entire family to leave his ship after they showed very little regard to other cruise passengers and the complaints came flooding in. He did say that this sort of behaviour is now unfortunately on the increase. After cruising for many years without ever seeing any such incidents I think that this is a terrible shame and spoils the whole ambiance of a ship and the passengers enjoying their voyage. Some people can be selfish, stupid and thoughtless to others.

It's not about stopping individuals from having fun, it's keeping the idiots from killing themselves and putting so many others (cruisers and staff alike) in jeopardy. Well, she started going on cruises, for the last year bragging she can go on them whenever she wants. Well, that didn't last too long. According to her former friend (who was with her, and now embarrassed by her) , she got so drunk at a dinner, she got up fell into the waiter knocking over the tray he was holding and it knocked someone in the head :elderly. She also vomited all over the floor. They had to lift this 230 pound woman back to her room. The elderly man sued........ not the cruise line, but HER. Had to forfeit all her "free" cruises.

    How weird, just last night I was watching an Australian t.v. show and they said a party was "fancy dress". I was so confused when they went in costumes. Fancy dress here would mean formal. Weird that it would come up again the very next day.

    • @colonelfustercluck486
      @colonelfustercluck486 Месяц назад

      in the ex British colonies..... Formal is formal dress, and then you have to check which formal dress. It is very formal, just like Great Britain... and there are different formal dress codes.... check before you go. (Style of Formal Dress, order to wear medals or not etc, do you wear your tiara or not. It's not good to get all this wrong.)
      IF you get an invite to a formal dress gathering, phone the organizer if you are not sure about what is expected.... otherwise you will be in for embarrassment.
      Now, fancy dress in those places mean that you dress up like pretty much anything like a pirate, a penguin, a prostitute, etc..... or to a certain theme, like a "shipwreck party" or whatever the theme is.... so that is fancy dress for British or British ex colonies.
      The invitation should tell you what the dress expectation is, whether Formal, or Fancy Dress.

      @@RobSojourn I was worried when my 30 year class reunion was held on a Carnival CruiseLine. The superintendent of our high school was caught on a hot mike saying, "The class of '86 is the worst class to ever step foot through Henderson County's doors."
      We were a bit boisterous and the man was in his 70's and had been in the school system 30 years so I'm sure we were more challenging than our parents' generation when he was first started. I'm not sure what happened for him to make this statement but knew he was annoyed and tried to have a black student expelled after he refused to wear the school mascot mask because the student considered it racist. Our mascot was the Colonel...(Kentucky) Colonel Sanders. He was our mascot for 2 years...without the mask.
      My class felt they got their revenge by printing his quote on every reunion t-shirt.🤣

During the cruise. he had been supposedly moved to an inside cabin, restricted to being out of the cabin except in the company of his father, etc. The family was charged for the destruction of the cabin furniture, etc. It was suspected but not proven that an older brother was supplying the younger brother with alcohol. The police were involved prior to disembarkation. At least 2 young women were given security protection for the remainder of the cruise as the father's supervision was obviously not reliable.

      Just keep yourself or friends controlled. You can still be outrageous.... just not in front of everyone.
      Make a public spectacle of yourselves, your travel options home will be different from what you planned. That's all. And it will likely be at your own expense.
      Remember, that the Cruise Line can get sued for injuries and anything else that happens about. It's is not good for the Officer's KPI's, incurring more suits against the Operator and reducing profitability and general safety onboard.
