    I like your painting tutorial very much. The Japanese were fastidious in always keeping Yamato from looking rusty or uncared for. It was always looking brand new. Well done.

    I own Musashi in this scale, and intend to convert her as originally outfitted.
    I gave a like, and subscribed before watching, this is Yamato after all, my favourite class of battleship.
    Great mastery of airbrushing, the build is also incredible as well.
    Take care, and all the best.

      Im really like the Musahi , the one before Leyte battle with 2 guns on the side instead of AA batteries. Thank you my friend. I will try to got the Mushashi someday

    Looks incredible!! Fantastic job..one question though..it seems all of the different airbrush shading you did in the beginning was rendered unnecessary with the final wash???

    • @AirbrusherStudio
      @AirbrusherStudio  2 года назад +1

      The shading did show throught outside the camera my friend. The washes just darken the black shadow on the hull :D

  • @pie.c.2615
    @pie.c.2615 3 года назад +2

    Congratulations good job, a question when you use black for aging after what liquid do you use to remove excess? Specifically, using tamiya what do you use to remove the black without damaging the paint?

    • @AirbrusherStudio
      @AirbrusherStudio  3 года назад +1

      Im using enamel to remove enamel washes. Because my paint im using is lacquer. And weathering with enamel is safe

    I am Japanese. I don't think the hull was so dirty because Japanese Navy soldiers especially liked it. Especially the top of the deck was polished every day.
    Many single dress machine guns in your work, but the final equipment Yamato didn't have so many single dress machine guns.
    You can use Wikipedia to find out the final equipment Yamato.

  • @jeremyellis4302
    @jeremyellis4302 3 года назад +1

    The most frustrating part of this kit is that all the structure is molded into the deck which requires lots of masking after painting the deck. How did you attach the super structure after painting over the glue points? Did you remove the paint on the contact points?

    • @AirbrusherStudio
      @AirbrusherStudio  3 года назад

      acctually i was planning on using the wooden deck sticker, so i dont mind at all, but when the final assembly goes, i lost that deck, so i freehand painting it, and fix where the paint is bleeding , and hide those error with washes

      Thabnk you so much , the kit cost 130$, my commision work is 100$ for the one in the video , but I can build one with full P.E, railing andd rigging, it will cose 200$. But only for local delivery, aboard delivery I don't recommend it sir.

  • @nicbruv

    Nice build mate, I also bought a Yamato off Tamiya's website, arriving in a few days.
    Also do you recommend painting the deck or using the sticker

    • @AirbrusherStudio
      @AirbrusherStudio  3 года назад

      Yes, using sticker will save you lot lot lot of time, mine is an old kit so the superstructure was mould into the deck, the newer tool one I think its moulded separated. So painting the deck is much easier, But for less time consuming I suggest using deck sticker :D

    There's this concept called overdoing it. I believe you've interpreted the Yamato as she lays at the bottom of the ocean. Given the imperial navy's significance of Yamato and Musashi, and the pride in which the sailors would've taken in them, it's doubtful she would've ever looked as "dirty" as you've interpreted her.
