Floor is a transcendent talent, her tone, range, pitch & control are simply amazing ... and her stage presence & story-telling is just incredible!! And the band - the band are all masterful musicians. Together they present a synergistic glory that is completely and utterly indescribable. Music should evoke feelings - it is after all, as Tuomas has said, the sound of emotions. and Nightwish and Floor personify this perfectly.
Her parents were in the front row when she did this concert, there was a documentary about it. Her parents were in tears for this song as well. And in the interviews Floor is about as down to earth as you get, for someone who is 6' 1". I had never listened to Nightwish before reactors, and now I cannot stop hearing them, all at the wonderful young age of 57.
Did you notice the sun was setting when they performed this beautiful lullaby. Everything has a purpose. Is contextual. And multilayered. Beautiful reaction.

My mother sings soprano in a performing chamber choir and when she sings at home she hits notes that stop you dead in whatever you are doing and make you tear up. The resonance of the note seems to touch your soul and it is that which uses tears to express its love.
I was in this consert at my hometown. Best live show in my life. Still get tears in my eyes when watching this 🙂

This just sends me into a state of bliss. Toumas may not like writing songs "on commission" as it were, but I'm glad this got written. The Nightwish world would be a poorer place without it. We're armed now. Bring on the next eclipse!
One of the first ones that I heard from them, all the way back in the 90´s (Oh christ how the time flies :D ) It hooked me instantly, and made me get to know more of this band... haven´t have to regret one bit, it´s been a great ride since! Nice to have you in the same rollercoaster as well, enjoy the ride with them :)
This was written for an eclipse in 1999. One of the only times they did a song on request, with restrictions. It was to be under 4 minutes and a ballad.
I enjoy both versions of this song, but for me Floor's just pushes it over the edge for me... you can feel the emotion pouring out of her with every word she sings... absolutely gorgeous!

Great reaction. A lot of Nightwish songs give me goosebumps and chills, but even the Poet and the Pendulum does not make me cry. The only Nightwish song that makes me cry is Our Decades in the Sun. There is no live performance, only lyric videos. I am sure it's already on your list! If not please...
I second this. It is such a beautiful tribute. But this song did not make me cry. Not until I became a father myself. Now it does.

First name "2-O-mass", I think! Magic when Emppu matches the vocal pitch with his guitar. Tuomas has said he can't play guitar so he lets Marko and Emppu "do their thing"... teamwork!!!

LoL, I actually haven't seen your react to GSOE, or did u mean GLS? I didn't like GLS for the first time I listened to that, but it grew in me. And I've been NW fan since word get go. Live in Finland so found them when Tarja was around and Marko wasn't even in the band yet.
I got sooo much hate!! It was not something I was used to.. tell you what though.. I stuck w Nightwish.. Floor, Tarja & some of Anette in the different songs w Marko.. and I am a fan.. Nightwish is beyond talented! GLS for some reason I just could not get into it? 🤔🤷🏻♀️

Hello hello hello hello. I really love this song. The song is about those who have lost their lives on the Lusitania and the bretania and the Titanic. It is just an amazing song. I do have a request and I thought I heard you read it on your list but I just want to encourage you to play it and that is the song Ava Marie. Both floor and Marco sing the song. It is a cover song many have sign it most famously by Perry Como back in the late sixties I believe. It is truly a beautiful beautiful song and I believe they sing this in Toronto I might be wrong. It is the Encore number. Anyways I love your show and I love your natural and genuine reaction to the songs. One more request maybe if you can squeeze it in. Would be bye bye beautiful and that is sung by Annette Olsen. Okay one more song and she sings this also would be I believe it is called Heavenly Meadows and you would want the metal version of this. It's also pretty awesome. And the reason why I have picked these songs has a lot of people give Annette grief for her singing. But she does a pretty good job here and these song Suit her very well. Wow I bet Floor could sing the PayPal Terms of Service Agreement and it would be stunning!!!! As to the silly debate as to which version is better, I say waste your time on that while I listen to two perfect versions of an exceptional song done by two exceptional vocalists (luckily they are friends and have done duets together so the debate is nonsense to them) and both version are done LIVE so you feel this song in your soul not just hearing it in your ears and brain!! Yes this is an emotional song and Floor just rips at your heart and soul with her rendition leaving you stunned and speechless, just imagine being in that crowd and experiencing that LIVE outdoors under a beautiful sky!!!! This is the kind of experience that just hooks listeners into NW and never lets them leave!!!

However, although Floor is not classically trained, I like her live version more. This being said, my favorite version of this song is sung by Tuomas' (the keyboardist / principal composer & lyricist of Nightwish) second cousin Elina Siirala. The song is about the feelings of Tuomas after Tarja was fired. At that time he lived mentally in a very dark place! of fair Kristin!....I love Floor in general , but she sings it with a super sweet , warm, quiet way with virtually noo inflection...Tarja did it with nuance, depth, cadence, rich reverberation and flowing sound...you never have to say anything...i'll just read your facial expression and will know what you are thinking....all the best to you

@@KristinKali ... of course Tarja is not open to recriminations and its lucky for Tuomas that she is so classy..her husband/manager Marcelo testified to having copious documentation clearly showing how she was shut out from any decisions the band made regarding frequency and location of tour dates, traveling arrangements, security and privacy concerns..you know, when she was fired (there is a clip, online) she was mostly offended at their claim that she did not care about her fans those tears in her eyes were so real...she was so sad to realize thart she never really knew Tuomas , after 9 years of touring in that dingy bus....she is diabetic and allergic to smoke and she had to be with them all the time...she was constantly sick and suffered from lack of sleep ( their manager, even testified to it) .. i met her a number of times , with NW and after and what immediately struck me ( besides her ample warmth as a human being) is how tense she was before October 2005 and how much more relaxed and happy, in the subsequent years...i believe its because she feels respected and in control of her life..two things she could not have with Tuomas...it saddens me that most of new NW fans, while trashing Tarja, never stop

Not crazy about Floor's overly-soft delivery of this song. too quiet with little inflection or nuance she is capable of so much more. Her singing style in after forever was so vibrant and had beautiful classical overtones. noticed this change right after the Wacken 2013 festival appearance. its been suggested that Tuomas is moving away from the classical themes , infavor of another paradigm. pity he can't erase Tarja from his memories and caries so much resentment. she obviously made peace with being cruely severed yet he can't reconcile himself
