When she participated in this TV show from the Netherlands in 2019, Floor was little known in her own country, although she sang in metal bands from the age of 16 (After Forever - 1997) because in the Netherlands the metal genre is not very popular, not being broadcast in the mainstream audiovisual media. Following her successful presence in Beste Zangers, in which she performed songs from other musical genres (such as Shallow), a solo music career began to take shape. This materialized at the beginning of 2020 in a chain of 8 concerts in the Netherlands, the last of which will be professionally recorded and broadcast online, following a crowdfunding campaign that reached its goal in just a few hours. This last concert took place only at the beginning of September 2021, due to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic - you can find the entire filmed material on Floor's YT channel.
During the lockdown period, she delighted us with several videos recorded from home, including a set of 9 covers. And now, in March 2023, Floor released her first solo album, "Paragon", which is completely outside the metal genre - you will find all the songs from the album on her YT channel, and for the first ones released as singles in advance there are also recorded videos professional. There were also special moments - in 2022, Floor was invited to sing the national anthem at the opening of the Formula 1 Grand Prix in the Netherlands, and recently she sang at the opening of the Metallica concert in Amsterdam.

I know that sometimes their automatic filtering criteria are absurd. But I really wanted the message to reach you, to understand that Floor's musical career is evolving in this direction.
Gabriel, having comments removed by RUclips is so very frustrating. It's happened to me both by leaving links to YT videos ... and even by just leaving the title search text. It is only to show reactors to other content - never trying to say the content is mine - why would I ? I have never left any comment that is any way controversial. At times I feel like stopping making comments.
@@gliebzeit I think YT has several categories of automatic filters. Here I think that "key" words were found, related to the "2020-2022 period", which were masked in my 2nd attempt by adding a phrase at the beginning and "breaking" the message into several paragraphs. I noticed that the name of the Nightwish fans server (I won't name it here) is a trigger. In other situations, my comments with links or too long were deleted - that's one of the reasons why I moved most of the welcome message with links to my profile.
So, I see that you have been informed about what Beste Zangers, and the fact that Floor is also a writer. Every performance on the 2019 show is amazing,and Floor solo act is phenomenal. She also has her RUclips channel with her own stuff,so is well worth exploring. I have subscribed and will be wanting for your next Floor Jansen, or Nightwish reaction. Greetings from Alabama 😎

There are more great performances from her on this show, to start with the first one: Vilja Lied. The other singers in this show did not know her other than she was some metal chick, so the effect of her voice and performance was amazing and very amusing! Try to use the version including intro and outro, it will give some background information...
Beste Zangers is not a competition but a gathering of Dutch artists enjoying each other's music. Salutations du pays de Floor🙂

'Beste Zangers' has a double meaning in Dutch. Indeed it means 'Best Singers', but also 'Dear Singers' as in an introduction.
"Breathtaking" just about sums it up.

Seen this a few dozen of times and it still brings tears in my eyes... Floor is really radiating the feeling with her voice, her face and whole body... she's a natural talent that has been honed to perfection and can now tackle just about anything.

Yes Floor can also write and has recently released her first album Paragon with most of the songs written by her. Well worth a visit.
Yes, Floor is a force of nature. It doesn't matter whether she belts out a song full of power or sings a soft, gentle song. With her voice and her ability to sing "emotions" she is already overwhelming in a recording. If you then experience her live, from a distance that is no further away than the artists were allowed to experience on the couch, then it is indescribable. Her stage presence is almost unfair to the audience, you can't escape it.
I was able to attend some of her solo shows in the Germany leg of her solo tour ... the audience was mixed. Young and old, metalheads and non metalheads ... and pretty much everyone had fun. In fact, at one show I had a brief conversation with a definite metalhead who said "I'm not quite sure I'll like it, she sings mostly her "pop" stuff, but it's just Floor!" After the show his comment was "Wow, just WOW!" And in the same way, people you wouldn't expect, just by looking at them, went wild for the rocking songs!
And off stage (I got to attend a meet & greet with her where you also got to talk to her alone for a few minutes), she is so incredibly nice and down to earth. She is someone with whom you don't want to party, but rather an evening at the campfire, a cozy evening in the pub, or a game night ... or clean out the stable ...

Best Zangers means Best Singers. They are all singers in the audience, the older gentlemen there is Henk Port, he's sung with Floor before. Notably Phantom of the Opera, both on this show and even on stage with Nightwish after Markoe left the band. I love this version, she's such a beautiful singer.
I must point out that Henk Poort and Floor Jansen met for the first time whilst filming this show.🇬🇧🤘🤘

This was such a great reaction! I love that you appreciated Floor's emotional storytelling here. She has the voice to turn this song into an Olympic event, if she wanted to, but that's not what she's about. She's not going to deliver the vocal acrobatics just to show off. Everything is about delivering the story.
Speaking of which, while watching your analysis, I couldn't help but think about Floor's cover of Heart's "Alone." It's much the same way.
