Check out "Ghost Love Score" by NIGHTWSIH and the NW Army will welcome you with open arms!! "Beste Zangers" is a TV show from the Netherlands, in which 7 singers from various musical genres are invited. In each of the first 7 episodes, each of the 7 singers takes the central position next to the moderator, and the other 6 sing songs from his/her repertoire, or songs that have a special meaning for him/her. In the last episode (the 8th), duets are sung. Filming traditionally takes place in the resort of Ibiza in Spain, and the episodes of the show are shown in 8 consecutive weekends on national Dutch television, with a large audience. Floor Jansen participated in the 2019 season, finally becoming well known in her country, where the metal genre is considered underground and is not popularized by official media channels, although she already had a successful international career built in more than 2 decades. as a soloist in metal bands. For us, Nightwish fans, Floor's success was not a surprise, because we knew that she is a unique talent in a generation. The surprise was that she approached other musical genres in an absolutely unique way, as you could hear here. ALL of Floor's performances in this show were real pearls, managing to win the admiration of the public in her country as well as the other invited singers. After this TV show, Floor had the opportunity to start a solo career, in parallel with that of the soloist of the band Nightwish.
@@redheadedneighbor I am convinced that you will not be disappointed. Floor performed this cover of "Shallow" for Emma Heesters (the blonde girl with red dress) who has a successful YT channel (5.89 million followers now) in which she performs covers, including a cover of this song.
Again, another that was pulled in by Floor's hypnotizing voice! I Love this and wait to she hears NIGHTWISH blowing out her eardrums!!! Spreading the music of Floor and NIGHTWISH is a blessing! Appreciate you Brother always showing Love to people! NWA Buckeye Creeker 🤘🤠🤘
Lady Gaga actually emailed the Show right after seeing Floor sing the song. She wrote that it was the most beautiful version she had the pleasure of hearing. Amazing!
@@redheadedneighbor Every songwriter knows it's the song itself that makes them immortal. Forever after their name is attached to all the greats that honour their writing...
Something that you should know about FLOOR JANSEN. She started singing in a symphonic metal band at just 16 years old. After Forever (1995-2009). Then she created a new Progressive Metal band, ReVamp (2009-2016). In 2018 she released a personal Hard Rock project (Northward). In 2012, she was invited by Nightwish to finish their world tour, after the band's second female singer (Annete Olzon) left. In 2013 she became Nightwish's full time lead Vocalist. She is a singing teacher. She sings in Dutch, German, English, Spanish, Finnish, Swedish, Italian and Latin. She sings Heavy Metal, Trash Metal, Pop, Rock, Symphonic Metal, Arya and Opera. She even sang rap. In March 2023 she launched her first Pop solo album "Paragon". THE BEST SINGER TODAY IN THE WHOLE WORLD.
She is Dutch, singing in a Finnish Symphonic Metal band, married to a Swedish drummer in a Swedish power metal Band, with them she sings a soprano theme in their song "Christmas truce", really happened in WW1. Check that out. 😀
@@ghstdnsr In my opinion, Phantom of the Opera was better in the version with Nightwish and Henk. Maybe because I saw it live, but definitely because Floor nailed the last note a little higher and held it almost twice as long.
@@Kelsea-2002 See and noticed the live version difference, but my old ass likes the show one because of less distraction and can just listen better. I have special headphones so I can actually hear the music otherwise it would be a soft mumbled noise.
What the heck?😂 The GODDESS did what SHE always does...... SHE can make you laugh and SHE can make you cry..... HER voice cuts through every wall you have up around your heart and your soul like a hot sword through butter..... Simply the best female voice I have ever heard in my 68 years on that planet. And SHE sings from a telephone book vior metal growls to operatic with or without instruments in the back. Only one requirement: SHE has to feel the song.........when SHE doesn`t, SHE doesn`t sing it.
Floor is the best of the best. She knows how to sing with emotion that moves you. I'm 58 years old and never have I heard anyone like her. The Floor rabbit hole isvast and you won't be disappointed
Floor knows how to do subtlety and nuance. That's part of it. She really is a genius at Music. AND she's anice and genuine person. You can't beat that. :)
Agreed, the guest performance she did with Epica (being good friends with Simone) for the Retrospect live album celebrating 10 years of Epica was in a word epic. To perform Sancta Terra.... metal with the orchestra and choir along for the ride, then pull Pergolesi's version of Stabat Mater Dolorosa from 1736 out of their hats......epic again.
@@redheadedneighbor From the same series search for "Vilja Lied" and that little thumbnail you saw at the end of that video? The duet with Henk Poort made them go viral. And you definately got to hear her in her day job. Take a look at Nightwish at Wacken Open Air 2013.
Nope not controversial at all. I'm a 55 year old guy from the US and I haven't heard anything like Floor in my life. She is the best female singer in the world today !!!!
Floor is absolutely incredible, no matter what genre she sings. Please check out Phantom of the Opera from this same 2019 Beste Zangers show with Henk Poort.
@redheadedneighbor Then you can watch when Henk joins Floor with Nightwish at the Ziggo Dome arena to sing The Phantom with a big audience. Do check out Floor's official channel for her solo music, old music videos, as well as glimpses of her home life on the swedish ranch, including building a horse paddock, and fun fan q&a videos.
Here's the deal. Floor is a world-class sigma empath. She can sing your soul right out of your body, wreck it, heal it and put it back before you understand what just happened to you. She has no equal. You will hear many suggestions, but I strongly suggest Dead Boy's Poem by Nightwish. Then follow that up with Ghost Love Score from the Wacken live concert, where you will encounter what is known as The Note at the very end. Your life will then have been irrevocably altered and for the better.
Never gets old; seeing someone have their first floorgasm. Definitely Nightwish next. Everyone points to Ghost Love Score, but Storytime at Wacken is my favorite Nightwish entry point. Before any more Beste Zangers, I'd suggest Vilja Lied. That was her first performance on the show, and this "metal singer" blew everyone's minds.
Beste Zangers (a Dutch TV show) where 8 singers don’t compete, they honor each other by singing songs the other artists may have song or are of importance to the other artists somehow. Floor sang in 7 episodes, the 8th episode was to honor her. Despite Floor being from the Netherlands, prior to this show she was all but unknown. The other singers thought she was just some ‘metal chick.’ They were stunned when they heard her sing. So was the rest of Holland. Metal was not popular in the Netherlands, so Floor was well known in Germany, Finland, Mexico, South America to a much lesser extent the US but not her home country. Beste Zangers put FLoor on the map in the Netherlands (Holland) despite the fact that she started singing there when she was 16. Suggest you do Phantom of the Opera from this same 2019 Beste Zangers. She sang it with Henk Port, a well known Dutch Opera singer who was “The Phantom” on the Dutch stage for years and years.
Tim (the guy with the curly hair) did already know her from her time with After Forever. Metal isn't mainstream in the Netherlands, but there are plenty of metal fans. This show certainly introduced her to a wider audience, but she was well known among metal fans, and the last album of After Forever also reached quite a big audience, ranking 6th on the album chart in the Netherlands. I also remember the song Energize Me was played quite a lot on television here, although most people probably saw that as just a rock song and wouldn't really know the specific singer. I wouldn't say she was any less known in the Netherlands than elsewhere - save for the nordic countries, where metal in general and especially Nightwish is just much bigger.
Oh boy are you in for some goosebumps! Floor is a vocal beast! Floor’s surname is pronounced Yansen, she’s also the singer of Nightwish. So there’s two paths you could take for future reference, 1) Floor singing Heart’s Alone, it’s absolutely beautiful! 2) Nightwish Ghost love score live at Wacken (pronounced Vacken) 2013, again she’s magnificent! Nice reaction, yeah she’s so good! Oh I forgot - chills from Floor are called Floorgasms 😂
QUEEN Floor Jansen Is The BEST Singer All Around The World. Nobody Like Her. She Is In Another Level. Dive Into Her Music And Her Band NIGHTWISH And Nothing Be The Same For You. BLOW YOUR MIND WITH EVERY SONG.
All of her songs from this are well worth a listen. Beste Zangers is a Dutch TV show were singers do their renditions of the other guests songs or something meaningful/important to them. Floor sings in 4 or 5 different languages during this and just wows all the other artists. I suggest continuing with these but try to listen to the original first for best effect.
Yes . Since this show is your first exposure to Floor, go ahead and watch all her fantastic performances there. Just search YT for “Besta Zangers 2019 floor Jansen” At the end of the video you just watched was a link to Floor’s duet with Hank Poort doing the Phantom of the Opera on this same show.
Welcome to Floor! ( Her surname is pronounced Yansen) She is amazing. She's Dutch. And you really haven't seen anything yet. That older guy on the couch sang Phantom of the Opera on the show with her, he plays the Phantom in the Netherlands version. you have to do that one. There's a lot of her solo stuff and then there's Nightwish a whole huge rabbit hole where you'll get to see her windmill as it's known, being Dutch. (hair spinning!) When you get the chills and goosebumps from her singing the Nightwish Army have their own phrase for it, a Floorgasm. 😂
Lovely reaction! Love seeing people get blown away by their fist time seeing the amazing Floor Jansen, just like I wS 4 years ago seeing her perform Ghost Love Score with Nightwish. If you want to see her in her main gig then thaty song live from Wacken in 2013 is the way to go. If you want more Floor solo then I would go with the her and Henk Poort (famous Dutch musical theater star and the original Phantom in the Dutch stage production) perform the Phantom of the Opera from this same Beste Zangers show.
Not sure if you have reacted to Nightwish. They are a Finnish Symphonic Metal band, Floor Jensen however is Dutch. Floor is the lead singer for this band and no matter what your preconceived notions of "metal" are, Nightwish's 'symphonic metal' will change your mind. I suggest you start with Ghost Love Score, from their 2013 Wacken Concert. Floor was only with the band about 9 months when this was recorded in Wacken Germany if front of 82,000 fans. Floor Jensen is Nightwish's 3rd singer. She can sing any genre, from Heavy Rock, to Opera, to popular in multiple languages. Floor fonted her first 'metal' band when she was 16 in the Netherlands
Oh, just wait. Private Jenkins, Nightwish Army, Utah USA division, reporting for duty. You are about to enter the deep rabbit hole of Floor and Nightwish. Oh, this will be fun. I subbed from your first reaction to The Warning. Let's Do This!!!!
Like I commented with another subscriber, she is going to be hooked for sure like I was from the very first song I reacted to!! NWA Small Town USA Buckeye Creeker 🤘🤠🤘
The reason Floor can sing the way she does is because she is a Highly Sensitive Person and an empath. She feels with her soul and therefore she is able to sing like telling a story. To unwind from all the hustle and bustle while touring and recharge her energy she needs to be in the woods. She lives with her family in the woods in the middle of nowhere in Sweden.
O yes, check out Floor Jansen. She is THE best singer worldwide, in any genre. And she does everything. And she does everything better than anyone else. Why? Because next to her immaculate technical perfection she pumps emotions straight into your heart. She is pouring tears out of her defenseless listeners. And her stage presence is unmatched. The Goddess of metal does it all. Please check out "Ghost love score" from Nightwish, the Wacken 2013 live version. It is the most reacted to video on the internet. For very good reasons. And as a desert "alone" by Floor Jansen, that she recorded in het home studio during Covid. It will make you understand why she is the best of the best.
Floor is Awesome on and off the stage. Welcome to Our Valkyrie Queen of Metal. She's been a professional singer since she was 16. She's also writing songs for her 2nd solo album, tge 1st on was last year
Floor can sing anything…any song, any style, any genre…and make it 100% her own. You need to check out the band she sings for…Nightwish. I think you have plenty of recommendations for Ghost Love Score live at Wacken 2013…perfect place to start. Also, the “J” in her last name is pronounced as a “Y.”
@@redheadedneighbor What I loved most about it is that even though they pick a "winner" every episode, there are no winners. The show is about supporting and honouring your peers, expanding your own musical boundaries, and enjoying the company and the art. It's so wholesome compared to music-based shows in North America and elsewhere. It's truly a beautiful show, and the talent on the shows is jaw-dropping. Subtitles aren't for everyone, but I think with your keen appreciation for music and gentle, loving nature, it's a program you would fall in love with. ❤️
If you are a singer, you don't want Floor to sing your song because she will make what you did with the song pale in comparison. THE BEST FEMALE SINGER IN THE WORLD. Every single performance she did in Beste Zangers was top notch.
@@ghstdnsr I agree with you with a small caveat. Lucy has an absolutely heavenly voice, which she knows how to use. (btw; I'm going to see her concert in Manchester next month) The only thing Lucy inevitably lacks is life experience. But that's no wonder with her 20 years. Btw; both have their birthdays on February 21st.
Probably you are familiar with "Alone" by Heart and the incredible voice of Ann Wilson. Floor Jansen made an amazing cover of this song. I think that you sould check it out 🙂
People seem to flock to this version, but the original was a duet and this show has her sing the duet version with Tim Akerman and it's great. Also, you should check out Floor sing "Vilja Lied", and also Tim Akerman singing the NW song "Nemo" - These were in Beste Zangers 2019. In 2018, an opera singer (Maria Fiselier) sang "Lose Yourself" pretty good. You should listen to all of these.
Ahhh Red discovers our Valkyrie Queen Floor. Well this has just improved my Friday. Nightwish Army Australian Division 🇦🇺🙂 Oh and can someone get Gabriel from the Romanian Division on standby I think we've got another one. 🤫
@@mattmid7012 Well technically this is just Floor herself. No doubt he'll show after the first few bars of Ghost Love Score (Wacken 2013 edition of course) 😉
I hear a rumble in the distance....Nightwish Army and FloorFan's are gathering... SO, our Valkyrie Goddess Floor "The Unstoppable" Jansen: Floor her name is derived from the Roman Goddess of Spring, Flora. Floor Jansen is called the Valkyrie Goddess of Metal and Empathy. Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 4 octaves (Eb2 to F6). She can sing from classical to belting and raspy vocals like screaming and death growls. And she's also a voice coach and teacher to boot. Plus, huge vocal nerd 😉. Her stunning performances on the Dutch TV show 'Beste Zangers 2019' gave her at last some more recognition in her home country where she was relatively unknown until then. There are numerous guest appearances with other bands to find on RUclips. To see how to get a crowd of metalheads silenced and in awe watch her featuring with the band 'Epica' and the song 'Stabat Mater Dolorosa:, ruclips.net/video/QqdvFPBGN0c/видео.html and to see her in full opera mode, watch her rendition of 'O Mio Babbino Caro' from Puccini: ruclips.net/video/UeTyAZtV5wI/видео.html... And that is only a pebble on a tip of the iceberg, what is Floor Jansen !!! now the song in this reaction: Great song by Lady Gaga, but only Floor can make this song Legendary ! Nightwish Shadow Unit From Estonia & FloorFan 🤘😎🤘
Yes, this is a typical reaction when you hear Floor for the first time. :-) There are multiple directions. In which you can go now. 1) The other Floor videos from Beste Zangers. The most popular of these is of course Henk“s and Floor“s duet: Phantom of the Opera. 2) Floor“s cover songs and solo titles; e.g. Let it go or Fire. 3) Most important of course is Floor as lead singer of Nightwish. You will want to start with „Ghost Love Score Wacken 2013“, which is by the way the most reacted-to video on RUclips. At this point, your channel will explode because the Nightwish Army will come to recruit you and you will receive further instruction by General Gabriel (as we call him). ;-)
No controversy, Floor is hands down one of the greatest singers of all time. You have now touched on two incredible artists that are in my top 5 and have immense catalogues that are impeccable. Floor(Independent stuff & lead singer of Nightwish) & The Warning. Die hard follower now. 😀 At some point and time you will also have to veer into Within Temptation, you will not be disappointed!!
Wow, you are like the more attractive sister of Angela Rayner - British people who follow politics will know what I mean. Nice job - Floor is a class act, I'm very glad I got back into Nightwish and discovered she was their latest singer. 🇬🇧👍
"I'm liking this better than the original." I'm over my years where I shit on pop music artists, but yeah. It's not even close, listening to this and the VMA awards performance back to back. But truly it's not fair to compare. Floor is a once-in-a-generation talent.
She has possibly the most versatile instrument of any female vocalists, so emotional, she tells you a story, her along with Lara Fabian absolute masters of their craft.
Dang.. That one got me. I really like that song and this version was fantastic. I love the movie.. the newest is alright, but the older ones are great as well.. Just as sad, but great. That movie has been made at least 3 times now.
You actually need to see al her Performances from the "Beste Zangers 2019". "Especially" Vilja Lied and "Phantom of the Opera"! I´ve seen the whole Series in 2019 and it made me truly fall in "love" with her, even when I knew her from Nightwish before.
As I'm sure has been said before, Beste Zangers is a Dutch TV program where singers from all different genres come together and sing for each other. Each week sees one person "on the couch" which means they don't sing that week but everyone else sings something for them, be it a cover of one of their songs, a song that means something to them or any other reason. Before this program, Floor Jansen was relatively unknown in her home country since metal is not a favourite genre there. However, after this show, her profile increased hugely with some of her versions of the songs from the show hitting number 1. She also played a number of solo gigs in her home country which I don't believe she had really done before. Even if you don't react to them on the channel, I think you'd enjoy all the performances. There are even versions that are subtitled in which the singers talk about what inspired the songs they're performing. If you don't have time for that though, it's still worth watching the performances: Week 1 - "Vilja Lied" for Henk Poort - a German opera song that Henk's mother used to sing him. Most of the other guests didn't really know what Floor was about, only really knowing that she sang in a metal band. Their faces when she breaks out into full-on opera in German is a sight to behold. Week 2 - "Mama" for Samatha Steenwijk - Samantha wrote this one for her mother and Floor related. Floor normally sings in English but his was written in Dutch and so that's what Floor performed in. Week 3 - "Que Se Siente" for Rolf Sanchez - Rolf is a reggaeton singer and wrote this about a broken relationship. Floor had never sung in Spanish before but rose to the challenge. Her version was more like an 80s hard rock song and it's amazing. Week 5 - "About love I don't know a thing" for Ruben Annink - Ruben wrote this in Dutch about his parents' divorce. With the help of her sister Irene, Floor translated it to English and blew Ruben away. Four weeks, four languages 🙂 Week 6 - "Shallow" for Emma Heesters - Emma is a young (23 at the time of the show I think) but successful RUclips cover artist. At last look she had almost 6M followers. With Emma and Floor having an age difference and having such differing music tastes, Floor was initially not sure what song to do. However, Shallow was one of Emma's most recent covers and Floor related to it, the result of which you saw here... Breathtaking. Week 7 - "Winner" for Tim Akkerman - Tim was one of the few people on the show who knew of Floor since he operates in a related genre, guitar-driven rock. He wrote winner for this brother who is in a wheelchair. The host asked him if he was likely to cry and he said unlikely since music never really makes him cry. Floor, however, had other ideas. Her performance was flawless and you can guess what happened next 🙂 Week 8 - Duet week. Firstly, Floor did "Shallow" again but this time with Tim taking the Bradley Cooper role. They then saved the best till last. Not sure if he was the original but Henk was certainly one of the best known Phantoms in the Dutch version of "Phantom of the Opera". He was also a lifelong inspiration to Floor so they performed the title song together. It's amazing and even though I love all of Floor's performances, this is still my favourite of the series. If you enjoy these songs, I would like to suggest a few of my favourite performances from the other artists: "The Sound of Silence" by Henk for Floor "Hotel California" by Rolf for Floor "Strong" by Emma for Floor "Nemo" by Tim for Floor "Despacito" by Henk for Emma "Pa Olvidarte" by Rolf and Emma "Vivo Per Le" by Henk and Emma Apologies for the wall of text but I hope it's useful and you enjoy them, even if you don't film it 👍
That feeling of breathlessness and goosebumps is called a Floorgasm! When you hear more of this amazing woman you will experience more of them………guaranteed!
You are not alone in preferring this version, they put this on iTunes after the show aired and it went to #1 in the Netherlands. I have heard many vocal coaches say that it is technically much more difficult to sing softly like this while keeping control, than to belt.
@@redheadedneighbor it is oke, now you know how to call her in the futere, because you will hear much more of Floor, i am sure! This was just a very smallpart of her great voice! It was the song i heard first and I have heard her every day since!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Floor is one of the best female rock/metal singers with an opera background she never fails to impress,I just realized that older man is one of her opera idols henk I believe is his first name
This was really an atypical performance for Floor, as she's mainly a metal vocalist...but it's still Floorgasm-inducing, as you've proven. And it shows the truth of our saying: "Other singers sing what they can; Floor sings what she _wants._ " Ironically, this wasn't even her _best_ performance of that series of _Beste Zangers._ For that, look up her duet of "The Phantom of the Opera" with Henk Poort (himself a renowned opera singer). Their performance comes close to, if not exceeds, that of Sarah Brightman and Michael Crawford themselves. And Floor used her appearance on this show to jumpstart a Dutch solo tour....and yes, they did "Phantom" again, live in Amsterdam. Floor's main claim to fame these days, though, is as lead vocalist of Nightwish. Since I just saw your reaction to her rendition of "Ghost Love Score," I know you know about them by now. 😀
Well this is quite odd.. Usually people gets to know her cuz of her band... She is amazing. You can check all of her performances on this show, which are quite different, and they will barely give you a hint of what she can do. Great talent, this woman. The Valkyrie Metal Goddess
By herself, with her bands, guesting with other bands, it is like this with every performance by her you can find on RUclips...An intense emotional experience...Every...single...performance...
There’s nothing to be sorry for about liking this version of the song, it’s been said that Floor now owns this song. In another one of this show she does Phantom of the Opera with Hank Poort who played the phantom in Denmark for quite a few years. It will blow you away.
Floor really knows hoe to tell the story within the song with such incredible emotion !! She really is the Queen of music . Never heard anything like it !!
Floor is the Valkyrie Queen!🤘🎸She is the lead vocalist for the Symphonic Metal band Nightwish. I recommend you react to Ghost Love Score from Wacken 2013🤘🎸Floor’s voice can pull emotion out of a stone!
As any real devoted Floor fan, I’ve heard this version maybe 50 times and I still get goosebumps! I love every aspect of floor, as a hard core metal front woman but also her solo work!
Welcome to the best female singer currently working outside classical music. Here is what Floor does: 1. Takes ownership of any song she covers, even from Gaga 2. Inspires new music to be written, mainly by Tuomas obviously 3. Tells you the story as you've never heard it conveyed before There is nobody who can hold a candle to Floor. If you watch Rolfe, Reuben and Emma in the group on the sofa, their faces say it all
It's pure expression, you can see her face and even though she's sitting there, her movements also play a rollr and her voice.......simply unbelievable.
I think I was pretty late myself to hearing Floor for the first time, it was probably only a year ago I stumbled across her covering an M83 song on her youtube channel, but I was completely captivated at first listen. I never considered myself a metal fan, but she absolutely kills it in Nightwish. She has a deep grab bag of vocal techniques and she's spent a lifetime working to master them all. The live performances are so exciting because she always leaves you in anticipation of what she's going to pull out of that bag at any given moment. The Floor rabbit hole goes deep and I've probably learned of at least a dozen bands/artists in the last year that I otherwise would have never known about.
Enjoy all her songs from this Dutch TV-show "Beste Zangers"! "Vilja Lied" from an Operette, sung in german, "Que siente" sung in spanish, "Winner", "About love I don't know that thing", translated with her sister Irene from dutch into english, "The phantom of the Opera", duet with Henk Poort (tho older guy in the little audience and a original singer of the Musical). And of course her presence with the finnish Symphonic Metalband NIGHTWISH.
"I'm liking this better then the original." Every member of the Nightwish Army - from the simplest of conscripts to the Hands of Odin -: "In another time at another version of this show one of the original singers of a song that Floor sang to him said: "This is how this song was meant to be instead of our crappy karaoke version! And to answer your question whether this is Floor Jansen. This is a tiny part of it. You just opened up a whole new can of pretty awesome earworms. Buckle up and enjoy the ride!"
Where do you start with Floor Jansen. At sixteen joined her first Metal band, After Forever and recorded a few albums before they folded. During that time she also performed for Arjen Lucassen in his Star One and Ayreon projects. She had her own side project in 2007 in a band called Northward writing an album that was only released in 2018. In 2009 she formed her own band called ReVamp but had a burnout in 2011. In late 2012 was asked to join Nightwish a well known symphonic metal band to finish their world tour with 48 hours to travel from The Netherlands to the USA learning the setlist on the way. She is still there. Plus guested with several other bands. The show you watched her on was in 2019 and she blew everyone away as not well known in her own country. It feature 7 singers who each sing to the other six. No judges or audience.
If you think this sounds great, you have to hear her live and then it's really mindblowing what you hear......Floor really can sing what she wants because she can do it all
Lovely reaction Red - Floor always has that impact on people when they come across her for the first time. She is a fantastic singer, one of the very best!
Welcome to the brilliant Floor! Lead singer of Finnish symphonic metal band, Nightwish. She can sing any genre and always expresses the emotion of the song. She is my favourite singer, the best I’ve ever heard.
This is very constrained performance by Floor. In the interview after this song, she explained that the challenge was to “ Keep it Small”. There is only a hint of her incredible power and Stadium rumbling voice. From this same show you should watch her duet of Phantom of the Opera with opera singer Henk Poort ( he was The Phantom in the Dutch production). Then for her Metal side, anything from Their Wacken 2013 concert.
This entire shows performances were amazing, you should hear them all and floor with nightwish is an absolute treasure.i hope you jump into rabbit hole with both feet!
Before the programme Floor was not so wellknown here in her own country, the Netherlands, but afterwords almost everyone knows her! Have been myself even to a concert from her! She is truly amazing! Hope that you want to do more songs from her (Beste Zangers for example)

Lady Gaga actually emailed the Show right after seeing Floor sing the song. She wrote that it was the most beautiful version she had the pleasure of hearing. Amazing!
That is very cool of her to do that!
There is some controversy about this.... I've read reports it's 'fake news'.
For real??
Fake news, never happened 😂

Absolutely agree with you. The perfect introduction to the world of Nightwish.
@@ghstdnsr In my opinion, Phantom of the Opera was better in the version with Nightwish and Henk. Maybe because I saw it live, but definitely because Floor nailed the last note a little higher and held it almost twice as long.

And the you hear her growling like a Lion, low deep Death Metal growling and switching Back to Opera Stile in between seconds. 😃

When Lady Gaga sings this song it's shallow. When Floor Jansen sings it goes deeper than the Mariana Trench.
Nope not controversial at all. I'm a 55 year old guy from the US and I haven't heard anything like Floor in my life. She is the best female singer in the world today !!!!

The Floor and/or Nightwish rabbit hole? YES PLEASE!
As Ruben Annink said to Floor in De Beste Zangers: " it's unbelievable how you make everything better."
@@henryvandenbrand5176 Indeed. Wasn't it recently that Floor sang the first page of a Dutch telephone book and made it sound divine?
🤯
Thanks for the insight and the bigger picture. I appreciate it! @@jbird4478

There are multiple directions.
At this point, your channel will explode because the Nightwish Army will come to recruit you and you will receive further instruction by General Gabriel (as we call him). ;-)

FLOOR JANSEN ❤️
If you don't have time for that though, it's still worth watching the performances:
Week 1 - "Vilja Lied" for Henk Poort - a German opera song that Henk's mother used to sing him.
Four weeks, four languages 🙂
Week 6 - "Shallow" for Emma Heesters - Emma is a young (23 at the time of the show I think) but successful RUclips cover artist.
Her performance was flawless and you can guess what happened next 🙂
Week 8 - Duet week.
If you enjoy these songs, I would like to suggest a few of my favourite performances from the other artists:
"The Sound of Silence" by Henk for Floor
"Hotel California" by Rolf for Floor
"Strong" by Emma for Floor
"Nemo" by Tim for Floor
"Despacito" by Henk for Emma
"Pa Olvidarte" by Rolf and Emma
"Vivo Per Le" by Henk and Emma
Apologies for the wall of text but I hope it's useful and you enjoy them, even if you don't film it 👍
This is a vocal masterpiece and leagues beyond the already very good original.
I have to agree
That feeling of breathlessness and goosebumps is called a Floorgasm! When you hear more of this amazing woman you will experience more of them………guaranteed!
You are not alone in preferring this version, they put this on iTunes after the show aired and it went to #1 in the Netherlands. I have heard many vocal coaches say that it is technically much more difficult to sing softly like this while keeping control, than to belt.
I’ve always said that whatever she sings, Floors voice resonates at a frequency that just penetrates your soul and activates feelings deep inside.

And it shows the truth of our saying: "Other singers sing what they can; Floor sings what she _wants._ "
Ironically, this wasn't even her _best_ performance of that series of _Beste Zangers._ For that, look up her duet of "The Phantom of the Opera" with Henk Poort (himself a renowned opera singer).

"I'm liking this better then the original."
Every member of the Nightwish Army - from the simplest of conscripts to the Hands of Odin -:
"In another time at another version of this show one of the original singers of a song that Floor sang to him said: "This is how this song was meant to be instead of our crappy karaoke version! And to answer your question whether this is Floor Jansen. This is a tiny part of it. You just opened up a whole new can of pretty awesome earworms. Buckle up and enjoy the ride!"
Love it!
If you have´t heard Floor`´s Live concert in Amsterdam, please listen. It is worth it.
Congratulations, you have just met the finest singer there is.
If you think this sounds great, you have to hear her live and then it's really mindblowing what you hear......Floor really can sing what she wants because she can do it all
🤯
Hail the Queen (Floor)♥️♥️🤘
Lovely reaction Red - Floor always has that impact on people when they come across her for the first time. She is a fantastic singer, one of the very best!
She is a Queen
Floor is incredible storyteller!
The one and only series of Beste Zangers I've seen, and it was great - not just the performances, but everything surrounding it.
I love the concept of this show as well
first time floorgasms never get old
Her second floorgasm was quite good, too lol
Floor❤❤❤
Before the programme Floor was not so wellknown here in her own country, the Netherlands, but afterwords almost everyone knows her! Have been myself even to a concert from her! She is truly amazing! Hope that you want to do more songs from her (Beste Zangers for example)
I am so intrigued
