Each week, one person is the featured singer and the other singers sing songs that the featured singer wrote or is known for singing or even songs that have meaning to them. This could be things totally outside the other singers' comfort zones or normal style. Emma Heesters (the blonde in red) was the featured singer this week and she is known for her RUclips covers. The other songs from this week are worth checking out as well. A RUclipsr named Denise Hofs has put up subtitled episodes on her channel, they are really interesting to watch.
Denise Hofs has English subtitle translations of the discussions on the couch before and after each singer sings. She deserves a lot of credit for taking the time to do the translating for the many of us that have been watching the episodes that don't speak Dutch. The singers all talk about what they are going to sing and why they chose the particular song. In this case Emma Heesters was the one being sung to by each of the other artists. A different artist is honored each week. Note that they are all good but to me especially Floor and Henk Poort (opera singer with a great sense of humor). The final episode of the show for the season will be duets. Henk and Floor will do Phantom of the Opera, a role he has starred in many times.
Floor is a singing goddess. On this show she sang In German, Dutch, Spanish and English in the first 4 weeks and nailed them all. She can do anything 😍🤘

When an angel sings, mortals weep tears of joy. I showed this to my Navy buddy a while ago, had him take a shot of whiskey to loosen him up, sat him down and he was sitting there tryna be stone but tears were just *running* down his cheeks.
Dutch TV show: Take 7 famous singers of different styles and backgrounds, famous in Holland itself or outside of Holland, stick them on an island to get to know each other, then make them pick a song from each other singer's repertoire or that was an influence on them, and sing it to them. The singer in the "hot seat" has to pick which song blew them away the most. In this case, Floor was singing to Emma (the young blond woman in red) who was the biggest Dutch RUclipsr. She'd done a cover of Lady Gaga's Shallow and Floor picked that to sing to her. There is a talk show element to it to introduce the singers to the Dutch audience who may not have heard of them before because they were famous outside of Holland. Almost the opposite of a competition, they're very encouraging of each other, kind, supportive, always hugging, laughing, wiping away tears... it's disgustingly wholesome. lol!
Just imaging: Floor is sitting like 10 feet in front of you and singing like that. Man.........i would melt like butter in the sun, really. and i cried so so many tears because of her voice. Tears of joy....and i cannot even explain. Never ever has a voice touched me like hers.
Been a fan of Floor going on 20+ years. Loved her in After Forever. Seeing her take off makes me so happy. Shes earned it. Shes got such an incredible range from growling Death Metal, to Opera, to tear-inducing smooth cooing. Shes an absolute treasure. Nightwish hit a homerun picking her up. If your skin doesn't bump listening to this you have no emotion.

She did a number of songs on this show, one of which is a translation she and her sister made of deeply personal song by Ruben (The young guy in a striped shirt with the dark curly hair) and she made him almost break down completely telling her "It's absurd how you make everything better" :) That one hit me right in the feels and I had tears in my eyes. It was called About Love I Don't Know a Thing. This one is also amazing, but hey, it's Floor so it's kind of a given ;)
I have to mention that they were isolated in a house, at Ibiza. The goal was to get to know each other, so they could choose the song that means something to each singer. They created very intimate atmosphere, where singers care and support each other, compared to competition shows where's some nasty energy displayed. That's why this show drawn so much attention...and because all of them have a magic of their own. Btw, two blondes made Floor cry, when they sang to her. 😊
The song is kept really small but her vocal must makes those high-notes with all the power it contains... It's breath-taking. The show is called "Beste zangers van Nederland"

I was surprised to find that it's in something like its 12th season. There's also a Belgian version, which is pretty good (I spent some time in The Netherlands so, while I'd not pretend to understand the language, I can mostly follow the Dutch and Belgian shows)

Floor Jansen - Winner. The song was written by Tim Akkerman about his brother that is in a wheelchair but has not let that hold him down. After it came out she announced she would do a limited tour with the backing band from the show. All the venues sold out in a day. She has also been working on the new Nightwish album and getting ready for their tour to kick off.

This show is a show in the Netherlands called The Best Singers. It runs for quite some time now and it's a show in wich, per season a group of well known singers singing each others songs. This led to some real pearls like this one here.

In this show, the artists either sing each other song or a song that means something for someone in the couch. It is perfect for Floor, since She is so versatile. A metalhead that can sing blues, Pop, jazz, opera, salsa, you name it. If You gave her like few weeks She would be able to sing flamenco.

I have first-hand experience with this phenomenon, having flown on KLM, the national airline of The Netherlands. Actually we Dutch are on average the tallest people IN THE WORLD! I'm a 59 year old male and I'm 1,85 m (6'2") tall. My 25 year old son is 1,98 m (6'6").
Here this is the proof that you don't listen to Floor when she sings..NO YOU EXPERIENCE HER!!!. If there is no reaction well then you are already dead and it makes no difference. She does truly stir the soul with her emotional presentation in her songs. You should check out her other songs from this show, before this she did 4 different genres in 4 different languages!! She has stunned this group of professional singers each and every week let along the TV audience that tunes in for this Dutch program. This was fantastic. Jamel...please please give a listen to this....."Jill's Theme" from the movie "Once Upon A Time In the West ". The opening and end songs. Make sure it's the original. Utterly beautiful and beyond words. My favorite song of all time. You won't be sorry.
You need to react to Floor singing Vilja Lied from this show. People always say she sounds operatic but there she sings something actually classical (but with a bit of a metal flavor of course). It's a song where she really shows off her voice.
Nice reaction man. Yes this version is really sweet but powerfull at the same time, we just can feel the emotion trough her voice and Floor Jansen just really good to how she interpret every song that she sing so it delivered well.
Well, I'm watching this reaction at 20 past midnight towards the end of April 2020. The world's in lockdown. Things are bleak but we press on. And this voice just lets me escape all the shit that's happening in the world, just for a minute or two. December the 18th of this year I will hopefully be seeing Floor with Nightwish in London. That concert will make me finally realise that everything will be ok. Be safe.

I'm tough, and as soon as I get this speck of dirt that flew in my eye out, I'm going to listen to Meshuggah. In all honesty, this is just amazing. There are no proper words in my vocabulary to describe her voice.
Listen to Floor singing "About love I don't know a thing" in the same show. It's her English version of his Dutch song (Ruben, the guy you where talking about). He's letting it all out, and of course Floor is singing another beautiful song.
Look at the photos of her next to the rest of Nightwish, and even when subtracting for 3" to 4" heels, she is taller then the tallest member of that band. Tuomos is supposed to be 6'2" - 6' 3" and she towers over him in those photos. I've worked with a few very tall women and they all try to minimize their height. Floor will often scrunch down in photos to not look taller than the rest of Nightwish. Wanna piss her off? Ask her about her height. My guess is 6' 3" to 6'4". Tuomas is listed at 1.88m, so 6'1 and a half. Aside from Floor crouching for stage photos, likely for the photographer's benefit, she's one of the few tall ladies I've never seen try to shrink herself. She wears 3" heels regularly, and those are bloody uncomfortable lol More power to her.

This is a tvshow comes 1 a year. The people on the seats are singers. They perform each other songs in a different way and sing some other songs witch are suitable for them. No prize, just glory. And live too with the best musicians and back-up vocals.
The show is what you see, musicians singing for other musicians. No competition so there is no winner. Every week one of the musicians is in the headlights, and the others sing one of his/her song. Or a song that is special to them

In this show, the artists either sing each other song or a song that means something for someone in the couch. It is perfect for Floor, since She is so versatile. A metalhead that can sing blues, Pop, jazz, opera, salsa, you name it. If You gave her like few weeks She would be able to sing flamenco.

I was told by some Europeans that Dutch people are, on average, the tallest people in Europe. I have first-hand experience with this phenomenon, having flown on KLM, the national airline of The Netherlands. It seems they find all the tallest and best-looking women in the country to hire as flight attendants. I highly recommend it.

Actually we Dutch are on average the tallest people IN THE WORLD! I'm a 59 year old male and I'm 1,85 m (6'2") tall. My 25 year old son is 1,98 m (6'6").

Here this is the proof that you don't listen to Floor when she sings..NO YOU EXPERIENCE HER!!!. If there is no reaction well then you are already dead and it makes no difference. She does truly stir the soul with her emotional presentation in her songs. You should check out her other songs from this show, before this she did 4 different genres in 4 different languages!! She has stunned this group of professional singers each and every week let along the TV audience that tunes in for this Dutch program. Floor is a true Valkyries Goddess as she stands 6' 1" in her bare feet, add those heels she loves to wear and "I look up to Floor" has a whole new meaning!!!

He was amazing, but the only way to be speechless by his performance is if you did not see David Draiman from disturbed do that same version first. If you haven't seen it, watch that version.

This was fantastic. Jamel...please please give a listen to this....."Jill's Theme" from the movie "Once Upon A Time In the West ". The opening and end songs. Make sure it's the original. Utterly beautiful and beyond words. My favorite song of all time. You won't be sorry.
You need to react to Floor singing Vilja Lied from this show. People always say she sounds operatic but there she sings something actually classical (but with a bit of a metal flavor of course). It's a song where she really shows off her voice.

Well, I'm watching this reaction at 20 past midnight towards the end of April 2020. The world's in lockdown. Things are bleak but we press on. And this voice just lets me escape all the shit that's happening in the world, just for a minute or two. December the 18th of this year I will hopefully be seeing Floor with Nightwish in London. That concert will make me finally realise that everything will be ok. Be safe.

Listen to Floor singing "About love I don't know a thing" in the same show. It's her English version of his Dutch song (Ruben, the guy you where talking about). He's letting it all out, and of course Floor is singing another beautiful song.

Look at the photos of her next to the rest of Nightwish, and even when subtracting for 3" to 4" heels, she is taller then the tallest member of that band. Tuomos is supposed to be 6'2" - 6' 3" and she towers over him in those photos.
I've worked with a few very tall women and they all try to minimize their height. Floor will often scrunch down in photos to not look taller than the rest of Nightwish. Wanna piss her off? Ask her about her height.
My guess is 6' 3" to 6'4". Check this out - she's taller than Tuomos with his top hat. www.dmagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/nightwish.jpg . The most she wears is a 4" heel and on stage, more like 2" to 3".

@@billattercliffe8655 She was asked during an Instagram live chat and said 183cm, which is just a touch over 6ft. I'm inclined to believe the lady herself. Her sister is actually taller than her. Tuomas is listed at 1.88m, so 6'1 and a half. Aside from Floor crouching for stage photos, likely for the photographer's benefit, she's one of the few tall ladies I've never seen try to shrink herself. She wears 3" heels regularly, and those are bloody uncomfortable lol More power to her.
