Without a doubt, Floor´s voice is the finest instrument on this planet. She sure has an amazing gift and she is such a nice down to earth person too. This is absolutely beautiful!
I fully agree with you. Floor is the greatest singer of all times. By far. The fact is, you can have a perfect voice and technique. Lots of people have that. But to pump emotions into the hearts of innocent listeners like that? She not only sings a song, she lives and performs a song. It's her looks, her gestures, her total performance. She is very sensitive and able to communicate that via her singing. She really lives a song. No matter what genre. Once in a lifetime talent, lonely at the top, and at the same time remaining herself, humble, pleasant, friendly. And that adds to the beauty. Thanks Floor, for living in the same time span as where I live my life. You definitely adds to the joy of living.

Yeah she owned this song from start to finish. People opinions are different, but this one wins over the original. The emotions hit so differently.

An to think Floor was virtually unknown in her home country(Netherlands) when this was recorded. Even with her being in Nightwish for 7 years.
I can say for certain she is well known on youtube. The Nightwish army is real.
The crystalline quality of her voice is remarkable.

This woman - this Goddess is a gift to all of us. If you can watch this and not feel anything, you are clinically dead. Perhaps not the greatest singer of all time but at the very least, the greatest female vocalist of our generation. I have yet to see another who can even come close to Floor. Her range, her versatility, her emotion, just her very presence - they are simply unparalleled. She completely commands any stage she steps on to. Very nice reaction. Thank you.
The only one I even considered mentioning over her was Whitney Houston, but honestly I think I prefer Floor lol

Most singers sing the words, Floor tells the story.
I knew a lot of great singers, but before Floor I was never a fan, I didn't have a list in which the singers took some places for me, I didn't think about it at all, and when I heard Floor's voice for the first time, I immediately I realized that she is special, not like other great singers, her level is beyond the bounds of this world, she immediately became number 1 for me, and other singers ceased to interest me.
Floor has a voice that would make an angel shed tears. Loved the commentary my friend. Floor is a rare and very uniquely talented vocalist.
All of those listening on the couches are professional singers themselves, knowing that they are being recorded for National TV broadcast, so that is a very tough audience to crack.
Floor rose magnificently to the challenge. She completely owned this song.
She really does feel every song she sings, and embodies the emotion in them. Add to that her complete mastery of so many singing techniques and ability to shift seamlessly between them, and you certainly have a once-in-a-generation ability.
As for this song, Lady Gaga is on the phone - she wants her song back 🙂
Honestly, I never understood how people could cry to music til Floor...
All were expecting a crescendo, but she turned it down to subtle again, keeping it small and sensitive.
That was the big surprise in how Floor Jansen handled this song.
@@Bd0MZ I bet you have not seen Johnny Cash singing Hurt, that makes many people cry. Dimash Kudaibergen Ave Maria also gets many people too. But yeah Floor is 1 of greatest singers of our time have to say.

One of the reasons that the other singers on the show were so surprised, and Floor even told them before she started to expect something different, is that she didn't belt-out 100%, but kept it soft, delicate and emotional all the way through. The were expecting a fastball and Floor threw them a big curve. Fantastic job by the one and only Floor Jansen!

Thanks for this reaction. She nailed that song! Floor and Henk Poort did another duet, from Jekyll and Hyde, it’s called Dangerous Games. I truly recommend you check it out. It all began on this show, when she did the first duet with Henk Poort, Phantom Of The Opera. Don’t know if you have seen that one. Amazing performance. Enjoy. They perform together regularly during each orher solo theater tours in the Netherlands. Great stuff.

I agree with you, Floor is (grand statement...) the greatest singer of all time. I used to think that Karen Carpenter was the 'greatest singer of all time', but alas, I think she has been upstaged somewhat by Floor. The irony is that I am (and have always been) a rock fanatic, and K.C was definitely not rock! I am not into singers, being a guitar freak...however, Ms. Jansen has changed all that. I never really found that singers were that much into music, that is, they were more into lyrics, stage presence, and being popular. But Floor is the whole package, her voice being a virtuoso instrument, with the uncanny power to penetrate your soul.

Yup, Floor will do that to you, but don't worry, we all have a similar reaction. Floor won't sing a song she can't relate to, or doesn't like, hence her ability to sing with such empathy and emotion. In this series, she researched all her songs, and really got into the mood, including the outfits she wore. Total commitment. And that's all before we get into her technical ability, and astonishing voice. She really is a once in a generation talent. The fact she is so down to earth and genuine is the icing on the cake.

This is just instant tears for me now, I cant even handle it. The original, while good, doesn't do that for me, not even close. Its too polished, over sung, and lacks emotional resonance. Floors version is so vulnerable.

Have to disagree. Floor is currently my top favorite singer, but nobody will replace Freddy.
You know, he and Whitney Houston came to mind, and I ALMOST mentioned him. Can't disagree but no one makes me feel the way Floor does.
