Kristin!.... since i was a small boy whenever i saw a lady being mistreated verbally or otherwise i felt it was my duty to step in,and i got in trouble for it and thought it worth it every time. so to see someone as special as yourself being besieged by ungrateful web goers, takes me back a bit...i would not presume to tell you what to do , but i believe you did exactly the right thing by ignoring the idiots who are unable to exercise basic civility. your husband is very fortunate to have someone with such sensative soul. it is one of humanity's greatest virtues.and you have in in abundance.....now on a serious note.. Thanks for the shout-out! I can certainly tell you're very sensitive, like you say, and very emotional. But that's not a bad thing. You're also connecting with your RUclips 'audience' in a really sweet way that I've not seen from other reactors. I'm not saying they're bad by any means, but you are very gentle. I'm not sure how to describe it without it sounding weird or slightly creepy, but you know what I'm trying to say?
Just so you know, Poet and the Pendulum might make you cry, so might want to hold that one for when you're feeling emotionally stronger and well-armed with tissues! I always have tears in my eyes while watching it, and I know what's coming! Tuomas wrote it after he and the other guys fired Tarja. They did it very publicly, giving her an open letter which they also posted online, because they wanted the fans to know why they had done it.
A lot of the fans were extremely angry that they had done this, and also angry at the way they did it. Because Tuomas is viewed as the leader of the band and his name was first on the letter, the fans aimed their rage at him. He suddenly became hated worldwide, plus he and Tarja had been childhood friends, so firing her was painful for him.
It is also rumoured (and outright stated by Tarja's husband and manager) that Tuomas had been in love with Tarja. I wouldn't be at all surprised if that was true, looking at the lyrics he's written. He has said that Poet and the Pendulum was his way to commit suicide through music so that he wouldn't do it in real life. It's an extremely heavy song in terms of emotions. When you do react to it, make sure you get Floor singing it at Wembley. There's a version that has the lyrics on the screen as well, which is really helpful. This is one athat gets blocked a lot due to copyright issues, so you can either pause a lot or try inserting other clips to get round it.
How do you feel about bands that have shouting, growly, grunty vocals? I'm thinking of an old band (no longer performing I think, but I can check that) that might be fun to look at. I'll ask one of the band members if they're still active. The band doesn't have singing vocals, they have shouty, grunty ones, but they're not what I would call 'aggressive', like Slipknot is. A couple of their songs have lyrics that are still hugely relevant today, even though they wrote the songs over 10 years ago, when they were teenagers, 17 or 18 years old..

I knew you would like it! And thanks for the shout out! I think you should try to react to Trees of Eternity - Broken Mirror. Its a little different from Nightwish and Epica, kind of a more introspective sound. The album of this song was considered to be one of the best doom albums ever. Aleah, the singer, was from South Africa and died during the making process of the album, so she didn’t had the opportunity to see the final result, which was fenomenal. Her voice was very unique and angelical... 🙏❤️

btw,pisces and gls werent failures....they were introductions to something unfamiliar....it takes time to acclimate to genres you arent accustomed to....most of will be patient...some will express their confusion with anger because they dont understand why you dont like it.
This. And keep in mind - I've seen people get p.o.ed in YT comments on Pisces videos because the person listened to a different Jinjer song first or did some research so the shock value wasn't maximized. There are a lot of idiots out there. Just assume that 10% of your comments are going to be morons and if more than 10% are mad at you *maybe* you might want to worry about it - or probably no cuz it is your channel. Seriously. There are way more negative reactions to Pisces on other reaction channels. I know, I've seen them. All of them. Every last one cuz I have a problem haha. If people watching reaction videos can't deal with people having reactions, that isn't your problem - that is their problem.

It's weird sometimes how people can't cope with a reaction that isn't 100% favourable. I certainly understand the frustration of someone not liking a band/song that you love, but I like people to be honest. The only time I've got really really miffed was when somebody with a spectacularly staggering lack of insight reacted to a thing and was really rude about it. But that sort of thing is rare.

Nobody will hold it against you if you don't like something. I'm a long time mod in another RUclips channel that recently went to twitch, and right at the start we got the best advice we could've ever gotten. You do what you're passionate about in your channel, and it will shine through and draw the viewers to you. What you're doing, experimenting with a music genre you didn't know much about is already more that what most are willing to do. You finding songs you enjoy, that's just absolutely perfect and we enjoy it just as much. Don't feel too pushed into something you don't like. We will try and make your journey as pleasant as possible. Have a nice memorial day too, even though we don't celebrate it here.

The orchestra was special for Epica's 10th anniversary concert. Simone Simmons is very good friends with Floor, and there are numerous times were they sing together. Many years ago, the guitarist Mark Jansen and Floor Jansen (not related) were in a band together called After Forever.
For as, Nightwish fans, Nightwish is religion, more than the band, more then the artist, or just song, its life its self,that whan peace that keeps as together, that's bond's as, and when Floor sings, time stops, transends in to something diferent, if you don't gett this, it's ok!

Symphonic metal....love it. This is an awesome collab. Floor is much like Tatiana even though they have completely different singing styles. She owns the stage, awesome vocals, and just dang sexy on stage with total command. Epica and Simone are awesome as well. In a perfect world, Tarja and Anette would join them to do the most ultimate collab.....ever!! Floor just has a special place in my heart. I have commented many times...Floor was sent down from Mt. Olympus as the Metal Goddess to show us glimpses of perfection. He yelled Floor Jansen at the end. Just my thing....but I almost shed a tear every time I hear Ghost love score by Floor. One thing I do know is, in the U.S. we don't usually get any exposure to this genre, unless we go looking for it, which is why I generally start people around here with an earlier song or one of the covers. For a person going into this genre without something to relate it to, and then being bombarded by Nightwish's epicness, I can definitely see why someone would be overwhelmed, hence my suggestion of studio version after you react to what people want. (trust me, even as talented as Nightwish is, there are still some minor things that have to be left behind that might make it make more sense for you.) On that note, I would like to recommend I Want My Tears Back from Wacken and The Phantom of The Opera and Wishmaster from the end of an Era concert. :)

Nightwish have at least 3 main musical directions: metalic - rock (as you heard in Romanticide), symphonic - operatic (as you heard in Ghost Love Score and here too) and the third one is celtic ethnic - folk. I recommend you "My Walden", a very uplifting song, from the third category described. Don't feel bad if some Nightwish fans use a bit rough language in their comments. Some of us tend to be very passionate about their music. ^_^ I hope you'll return to listening to their stuff, because they have a lot to offer. Heavy, poppy, epic, folky, and even one jazzy song. Plus, they are very nice and down-to-earth. :D
Don't feel bad about your reaction to GLS. It CAN be mistaken for something Vegas-y. And an honest reaction is always better than a fake one, so if you don't like something, who cares?
Nice to see you liked this one. It's not my favorite stuff, but quite nice to listen to once in a while, and they do sing beautifully.
If you prefer softer stuff, I can recommend from Nightwish: Alpenglow (live at Wembley or Tampere), a great pick-me-up song when you feel stressed out; My Walden, a lovely folky tune; or Elan, likewise folky, beautiful and relaxing.
Or try some old Jethro Tull (live); for example Velvet Green, a lovely folky track again.
Keep up the reactions, I for one like the way you do them.

Not all Slipknot is heavy. Sure that's what they're known for but they actually have a big range. There are several songs that are actually very mellow.

You may like Within Temptation, another Dutch Symphonic Metal band, if you haven't found them yet. Something from the Black Symphony which is a live performance...maybe Our Solemn Hour or Mother Earth or Jillian would be a good place to start all from the Black Symphony :)

I’ve been a fan of Nightwish since around 2002. Some of their albums didn’t click with me either right away. Once just felt dark to me at first and I was a bit let down with Endless Forms Most Beautiful in part due to my faith an also because it was different from what I was expecting. I love both albums now but it took awhile. Endless forms is absolutely brilliant, but Imaginarium is my favorite.

Thanks for this and love the Nightwish / Epica reactions. You might also like Freedom Hawk’s Land of the Lost. Just discovered it and can’t stop playing it. Vocalist sounds like a young Ozzy, over a driving rock rhythm. Don’t stress too much, life is short but we’re lucky to be here as Richard Dawkins states at the end of Nightwish’s Greatest Show on Earth.

2:42 Somthing that really drew me to the metal community is that, despite appearances, metal fans are good kind people. There's a-holes everywhere, but by the vast majority they're also genuine people, don't like fakery, and will let you know if you're being a dick. I like that. You know, people who get angry because you don't like something need to get over it. I played Jinjer for some friends and they weren't crazy about them (they liked the lyrics and her clear voice, but not when she roared. They did laugh though.) Its fine, roaring vocals isn't for everyone.

These two angels are best friends and are members of the Dutch Singing Goddess Club, along with Sharon (Within Temptation), Charlotte (Delain), Anneke (Vuur) and Dianne (Ex Libris) all lead singers of symphonic metal bands!!!! Yeah the Dutch have that market cornered but you can see why. Epica is great especially with their ballads and Simone's angelic voice, however, Mark the other lead vocalist does a lot of growling in their songs so be warned if it is not your taste (not mine but the band is so great I bear with his vocals, and take the abuse from the Epica fans). If you want a real dose of Epica then try Consign To Oblivion - Live at the Zenith (ruclips.net/video/dkqyyUTCMUQ/видео.html) and see what a show stopper they can be.
I see no J-Rock on the channel yet and wonder if you are ready to shift gears for some real rock and roll with female bands from Japan. Band Maid is a great one to start with, short catchy songs, great musicianship and although Japanese vocals they are wonderful especially LIVE if you want to try without a reaction that fine too give Take Me Higher LIVE (ruclips.net/video/vFyYiPDZzdw/видео.html) a listen and see if it is in your wheelhouse, if not then we move on, if you are interested then the Band Maid army (many of them Nightwish fans) will descend on you but honestly so far some songs are better than other but not a dud in the 25+ they have out there on YT!
Great reaction and these women have done other duets and projects beyond their bands, BTW Simone was 3 months pregnant here and 2 hours into a concert (she and Floor did a duet earlier in the show you might like Stabat Mater Dolorosa (ruclips.net/video/QqdvFPBGN0c/видео.html)) and they turn up her mic and turned Floor's down as can be expected.
