      @@SirToby1076 If you've ever been pregnant (which I've been) you know the first three months are HELL. Tired all day everyday, the nausea, the shortness of breath even though you're not doing anything strainuous and other fun symptoms... So a +3 hour show like that in that condition IS a big challenge physically. The body is creating life out of tiny little cells and is working on overdrive in the first three months. It gets better when you're in the second trimester, and then all hell breaks loose during the third. So yes, many of us are impressed by her performance during the show, and I've been even more so since first-hand experiencing the wonders of pregnancy, because, as I already said, it's very tough on the body.
      A small edit: And this is with a healthy and easy-ish pregnancy, too. I cannot imagine how that would go for people who went through complications.

    Yup, Floor and Simone are great friends. They're also both great friends with Elize (Amaranthe) and Alissa (Arch Enemy) and have all guessed at each other shows.

    • @ralflukas9695
      @ralflukas9695 4 года назад +3

      Elize and Alyssa stepped in when Anette Olzon was ill and could not perform at the Denver show on Nightwishs Imaginaerium tour in 2012 (i believe there is a Video about that: "The Denver Debacle"). Tuomas then called Floor and asked her to be the temporary singer for the rest of the world tour and the rest is history.

    • @Shaakti86
      @Shaakti86 4 года назад +1

      @@ralflukas9695 Well, Floor has been asked by Tuomans before the debacle, if she could imagine to step in as a temporary replacement for Anette, but they didn´t think that it could happen so fast. Anette was pregnant (plus the other strain between the memebers that had arisen), so they had a plan B in mind for the tour. Only Anette did object to a temporary replacement, because she knew....many fans didn´t love her very much. I even remember a video where Anette did storm midsong of the stage, crying. I don´t like her voice a lot, parts of her songs (with her voice) are good, other parts I don´t like, but people were bullying her personally even at concerts that she´s sh*t. That´s not nice either, she still can sing better than most of the popgirls. Or the haters in the internet. ;)
      It was a bad situation for all of them and neither of them did everything right. I´m not an Anette-fan as I said before, but I can understand that she had a hard time, it WAS difficult, the old songs are not for her voice type, the fans also did blame her and all this crap. I still think that she was not the right person for the vocals, it was rather unfair towards her (I know that Tuomas wanted a not classicals singer, this I blame on him) and I´m happy that she can nowadays do her own stuff. I´ve listened into her newer stuff, suits her far more.
      Yet Anette made a mistake in these strained circumstances - she got pregnant although she knew that they´d be touring for about a year. I don´t know if it was an "accident" pregnancy, if it was a planned one, it was a stupid, I´ve no other word for it. She could have waited another year with the child, it´s not like she was 48 at the time being. ;)
      The concerts were booked and many tickets sold and rescheduling is a nightmare and rather understood because of severe sickness or death in the band or a pandemic situation (as we can totally see at the monent). Though we shouldn´t forget that Americans can take everything to the court and even after the death of Michael Jackson they did fight for cashflow. So, yes it is understandable why they didn´t want to reschedule. In Floors case (pregnancy) they did learn from before or and Floor was a bit more professional (in regards to if the Anette-situation was like "I get pregnant, everybody has to do to my whim"), because she got married yet didn´t immediately got pregnant, she wanted to tour. And after their Tampere concert Nightwish went into hiatus-mode and Tuomas said that Floor could have a child in the next 2 years or so before they´d been touring again. This did work out and Floor even did a christmas concert with Marko, about 6 months pregnant. So I really hope that everybody did mature and learn from their past mistakes (maybe not Tarja´s husband/manager, but she still seems a nice person) and we get happy artists who like what they are doing and with whom they are playing.
      Sorry for this novel.

    • @ralflukas9695
      @ralflukas9695 4 года назад

      @@Shaakti86 Nightwish fans were bullying Anette? That is not a nice thing. I mean, even if you don't like her voice, you still can be polite and do not need to bully her on a personal level. She did well on some album tracks and can sing very good. I didn't know that some hardcore fans could go that far that the singer leaves the stage in tears. In the documentation "Please learn the setlist in 48 hours" they spoke about an illness of Anette, did they mean her pregnancy? I mean thats not an illness, but could be uncomfortable because pregnant women have days during pregnancy when they don't feel well and it is more difficult if you have to perform live on stage. I didn't know that they planned with Floor as a plan B before the tour even started.

    • @Shaakti86
      @Shaakti86 4 года назад +1

      @@ralflukas9695 Yeah, there was bullying of Anette in the internet and there were people e.g. booing at concerts (just a few, but that´s enough). The videos of the Anette-era on RUclips are mostly rather crappy, yet you can clearly hear, that she´s struggeling with Tarja-songs, some songs sound really terrible, especially shortly after joining. But how could anyone expect something else, she´s not classically trained. Tuomas wanted someone with a completely different voice, yet he did oversee, that the old songs mostly wouldn´t work well with Annette. Plus all this crap from firing Tarja, some people said from the beginning that they hate Anette.
      Thing is, if you really don´t like the singer of the band, then you probably should leave the band, which is what I did after "Dark Passion Play". "Amaranth" was quite poppy, but okay, "Bye Bye Beautiful" isn´t a bad song, either, yet I didn´t like the drama stuff. After Tarja I couldn´t get into Anette´s voice, so I did listen the album once and after that for years only "The Islander", around 2010 also "Master Passion Greed", basically the Marko-songs. So, I didn´t go to concerts and didn´t buy "Imaginaerum" (and did miss nice Marko-songs), just reading sporadicly about them, because I didn´t like Anette´s voice in parts of the songs, so I had the old stuff and was content enough. No need to bother and spit too much hate. After several years Anette got a bit better with the old songs, yet there still was straining (inside and out) as you can see in the documentary and in the body language of the whole band before the break.
      The illness was the flu, the pregnancy was just on top (I just say hormones). The problems between the bandmembers were there before she even got pregnant. Anette told them about the pregnancy and that she couldn´t complete the booked tour. I don´t know if she thought they would stop touring and tackle the problems with possible recompensation, nobody knows what people write into contracts. But I heard from another european band (medium known), that they had to pay for everything themselves for touring through South America as supporting act and because of that they only do tours through Europe nowadays (and about contractual stuff of some festivals). They are sad for their south american fans, but they have to pay their bills and rather use the money to make albums.
      Back to Anette. They knew about her pregnancy, but didn´t want to stop the tour (or there migth have been fines in the american contract, Americans can nearly sue everything), so they wanted to have a temporary maternity leave fill-in (Floor), yet Anette didn´t want another singer as temporary replacement. Especially someone of Floors caliber, because Anette knew that "fans" didn´t like her and Floor is well, just Floor. So, pride and fear on Anette´s side, not a good combination and pain for her, not an easy situation.
      With Epica this wasn´t a problem. When Simone fell ill for months in 2008 (I think nearly half a year) because of MRSA, they did cancel/postpone concerts, yet then brought in Amanda Somerville as a temporary singer replacement. But this was a different situation, as Amanda did work with the band before and was vocal coach for both Simone and Floor. Plus she´s married to Sander Gommans, former guitarist of After Forever. :D

    The man who shouts "Floor Jansen" at the end with a growling voice is Mark Jansen (no family relation). Both he and Floor were together in a band called After Forever in the 90s/early 2000s until Mark quit the band due to creative differences. He went on to found Epica with his girlfriend at the time - Simone. Simone and Floor are close friends and have been for years - this is why they have such good chemistry on stage.
    Mark and Simone are no longer a couple, but they still work very well together. Simone is married with Oliver Polotai, the keyboards player of another metal band : Kamelot (in fact she was pregnant during this show which is why she didn't headbang as violently as Floor xD ) . Very early Epica (then named Sahara Dust) was in fact Kamelot's support band during their Epica tour (from their namesake album), and it is from Kamelot's Epica album title that the name of band comes from.
    Kamelot was the support band during Nightwish's 2012 Imaginaerum US tour, during which then-Nightwish-vocalist Anette Olzon fell ill minutes before their Denver show. Kamelot's session vocalists Elize Ryd and Alissa White-Gluz covered for Anette and the show went on while she was hospitalized. Nightwish's decision to go forward with the show upset Anette and she publicly criticized the band on her blog. This was the last straw in Anette's and Nightwish's already troubled relationship and days later, the band fired her, with Floor acting as her replacement for the remainder of the tour. We know the rest of the story.
    Elize Ryd was also considered by Nightwish as a vocalist - way back in 2005 when they fired their first vocalist, Tarja Turunen. They thought Elize was too young and inexperienced at the time and went with Anette instead. Elize went on to found her own band, Amaranthe. Unrelated to this, on their first album with Anette, Nightwish released a song titled Amaranth.
    Are your heads spinning yet? XD

    Cheers from Costa Rica.
    The singers are Simone Simons from Epica and Floor Jansen from Nightwish and ReVamp.
    I heard Simone here in Costa Rica in 2019 and she have a voice that can't be recorded. His voice is unique and the band in our country presented a beautiful setlist to listen to.
    I recommend listening to:
    Epica - Cry for the Moon
    Nightwish - Music, a piece from their latest album.

    She’s Simone Simons and is a close friend of Floor for years indeed. And Simone is not headbanging or windmilling cause she’s pregnant at that time. The one who’s shout out Floor’s name @ the end was Mark Jansen, a former band member and founder of After Forever (Floor’s first band she entered as background singer @ 16yo) No relationship between those two but coincidence carrying the same sure name.

      I would say Delain instead of Within Temptation. WT is heading too much to mainstream the past 10 years. Well it's maybe also matter of taste because I love Delain very much too they are top four for me. I like only the older work from WT.
