I love hearing Mrs Doctor talking about her feelings. This industry/business we're all in does get caught up in a huge amount of scrutiny. So many customers thinks that after you touch their car, should the dice roll one way and next week something else pops up they are right away to think that "Oh, the last mechanic must have screwed something up." That is a game that has to be played with tact, and should the customer come a hootin' and a hollerin' pointing the finger at you, then I understand the frustration, and in certain times it does come down to firing the customer.
I appreciate your channel love the chemistry yall have I love the way she has your back she is a rare true woman I am a true fan much respect to you both
I appreciate your kind comment. She definitely is a gem. You know, when we were 18, she bought me my first real tool set. It was a nice Kobolt set! I knew then, not to let her get away
I'm just a DIYer and I had my share of trouble removing the passenger side axle on a 2001 Toyota Sienna van. Besides a hand held hammer and long punch, I tried a Snap-on long throw air hammer and a .498 shank Astro (Big Nasty) air hammer. Due to obstructions it was hard to get a good angle. As a last resort I followed a RUclips video and cut a section out of the inner axle and about 3 or 4 hits with a club hammer directly on the end of the axle stub did the trick for me. Of course I didn't forget to remove the retaining ring and small retaining bolt.
You do not need those customers. Tell him bye-bye, he will be nothing but trouble. Some people. Car owners can be very foolish. Comparing a battery, starting issue to motor mounts. WOW. The door swings both ways. 😊

Your customer may not need a certified mechanic, but rather a certified attorney. The small claims limit in Georgia is $15K. What's next, demand junkyard instead of new parts? Someone needs to report this to the Georgia Fuel and Measures Division.

Tyme to design a tool to extract the right side CV axles on Toyota front wheel drive vehicle's with the J shaft. Develope a clamp puller system that draws the axel out similar to a harmonic balancer puller
Alex is 100% mechanic. Every good mechanic I have ever seen drive beaters and really don't concern themselves with driving really nice cars daily. Now their spouse's will tend to have nice cars and they themselves may have a nice hot rod or old vehicle they only drive on special occasions. Other than that you'll always see them riding around in some old beater that has hundreds of thousands of miles on them and most likely won't get washed until the next time it rains.
That’s because they know how to fix their cars and typically don’t commute long distances to work. I drive 140 miles per day to and from work. It would be irresponsible of me to drive a 250,000 miles per car that far daily. Most mechanics live close to their shop. So they don’t need a nice car to drive to work. Just a nice car for weekends. Understand
I have a few ASE certs but they are completely useless unless you jump from state to state. But for most mechanics, state certs are all you need. Shops just want that ASE sign to hang on the door but God forbid they pay the techs more.

diesel in a gas car is no big deal, just drain it and fill it, but gas in a diesel is bad news, in the 80s I worked at a Cadillac/ Olds dealer we got diesels full of gas towed in all the time some were ok but most had major engine damage
It's hard to find a good tech he seems to be straight up and unfortunately it's hard with the quality of parts and how people treat their vehicles. Even when I was a tech in the shop and freelance they always blame if something happens after they put their hand on someone vehicles not they don't keep up with service or repairs
People sometimes think that mechanic's can diagnose a vehicles problem within 10 seconds of hearing the car run or based off any ignorant owners half ass explanation of what their car is doing. That might be the case in a lot of situations but not all. Diagnosing vehicles can take minutes or hours and unfortunately days depending on the make model and most importantly the vehicles owner. Owners who have a little knowledge of how cars work and decent communication skills and attitude tend to have better running cars and a good relationship with their mechanic. Those owners who have low to no knowhow about cars and an equal amount of knowhow to communicate tend to either drive beaters or they have plenty of money and buy new vehicles as soon as the warranty expires. So the moral of this story is don't let that mouth bite a chunk out of your ass because it tends to take that chunk out right where your wallet is.
