Thought about getting this set years ago when I started looking into legends. I’m honestly glad I waited for the magic square version. Those are definitely much more complex than the dx9(or most legends in general), but I think the end result is worth it for a really solid set of constructicons in all three modes
Great review as always man. Keep up the amazing work and stay safe out there. I am always surprised that Iron factory hasn't done a Devastator. Since he was in the IDW comics and their is repaint value like an orange one, yellow one, or a white and red for a shattered glass. Maybe one day after the new liokaiser comes out.
I’m hoping if they do a devestator, they’ll do the prowl version, or at least have options for it. I saw someone on a tfw forum actually took the Newage devastator skeleton and 3d printed their own parts to do the prowl version from the comics.
A friend got me a (slightly) upscaled KO of this set for Christmas a few years back 42:12 in comparison, Cyclonus would be up to the waist rather than nearly head to head
2:28 it was mostly a stand to plug all the guns so you don't lose them (lol) and looked like that so it still has a ''purpose'' when the guns aren't on it
I just bought the KO OS Huilkie, I did not like it for some reason but couldn't put it into words. This review sums up my feelings that I could not put in words.
My stance on combiner parts forming is, it has it, alright. It doesn't amazing. I don't think combiner parts forming is bad unless it's like G1 Devastater where 50% seemed to be parts forming peices
This may go on deaf ears (pun not intended) but thanks for the better audio balancing as several videos i would watch have horrendous ear "r@pe" moments that result in my ears ringing for minutes on end or if i have youtube on my tv or laptop the audio when you have the loud vocal comedic moments can be heard around the house and sets some of my family members into a frenzy to figure out what happened or if someone was hurt.
I recently have been getting into the Dr.Wu extreme warfare set and I think scale wise he works great! I’m definitely gonna be getting him into my collection!
I finally decided to get this little guy to go opposite the Core Class Dinobots' Volcanicus (with upgrade kit feet and hands) and found he's now in the USD$20-30 range depending on source... but the first two tries via Amazon vanished entirely or just never arrived. My third attempt is via ebay, and fingers crossed it'll actually get to me in good shape this time... Grimlock is getting restless for butts to kick.
I've got some figures that I bought back in 2018 but I was too happy with it's size tbh. This year via 2022 I found the K.O. up-scaled version with Dev's gun (no individual bot guns) for $69!!!! That's a great buy and the quality nearly on par with the original figures as well with it being abit bigger!!! Very happy the K.O. up even more than some of the official figures that I bought years ago.
I remember seing on Aliexpress bootleg of this devastator, but BUT it was formed from 6 MIXMASTERS ONLY! I remember sending it to my friends and laughing. BTW I have KO that perfectly scales with cor class figures, I mean individual robot modes of course.
If the Longhaul knees were balljointed or have a swivel connection right above the knee, it would've fixed the articulation issue that you always couldn't let slide 😂🤣
Definitely, but I also understand stability is an issue. A ball joint may have been too loose to keep the combined mode standing. The solution isn't as simple as that, but I still think they should've figured something out
Hey drlockdown what do you feel about the legacy stunticons and how they combiné I honestly dont like how the split and get to the arms, I think thats just lazy
There's a part of me that does want to get this guy. I'm really into small Transformers and I love the Constructicons. With the problems shown though I'm not sure it's worth it. Might keep an eye out for the Newage ones.
I actually had/have(?) a KO of hulkie, and it was okay, but I would say to anyone shopping for one to be weary of sets that substitute some parts for diecast metal. It could get completely painted to color match which can throw the joint tolerances and cause plastic stressing. (Listens closely to bgm in perceptor tank mode praise moment at tail end of robot mode discussion) ...why do those tones sound familiar? Is it the first nichijou OP? Where is that sound clip from?
