I want to thank Dr. Frank Sabatino, the team at Vegan Visibility Productions including Kathleen Gage and V Lynn Hawkins, and the team at the National Health Association for having me on this incredible broadcast. It was both an honor, especially to dig deep with the Doc, and a blast! Thank you for your ginormous efforts on behalf of our health, the dignity of our beloved non-human animals, and our precious planet. It's a joy to travel in your circles and observe all as we go forth and conquer with kindness and compassion. Blessings to all! Namaste.💞💕😻🙏🧘‍♀🏋‍♀🏃‍♀

I really enjoyed this interview with Angela Fischetti. Dr. Sabatino, you asked great questions to elicit the hows and whys of Angela's life story and trajectory. Angela is wonderful - caring and compassionate; very dedicated to helping others live their best life by improving fitness and maintaining it throughout the senior years. She is an inspiring person and this comes across the zoom connection. I appreciated hearing how she developed her expertise over time. She is very perceptive and early on recognized the benefit of bringing in knowledge of physical therapy, chiropractic, yoga, and nutritional knowledge into her sphere of practice. This holistic approach is very meaningful in a coach or leader. Angela is always learning and keeping herself updated. I feel so fortunate that I can access her wisdom and expertise even though I am on the west coast and she is on the eastern shore. Thanks, Dr. Sabatino, for having her on your podcast. Thank you for shining a light on her many talents and gifts!

So my issue with relying on plants as your source of nutrition is bioavailability. Many of the nutrients and antioxidants promoted in plants aren’t actually being absorbed by the body. Studies show that plant protein is far less digestible and bioavailable, and has a less favorable amino acid profile when compared to animal protein. Anti-nutrients such as phytic acid, which is naturally occurring in seeds, legumes, nuts, grains, and more, inhibit the absorption of minerals. There are also essential nutrients that are only found in animal foods, causing nutritional deficiencies if eating plant-based.
Additionally, the plant kingdom is filled with other anti-nutrients such as lectins and oxalates, often have glyphosate herbicide exposure, and can also be contaminated with mycotoxins due to farming and storage practices. Lectins and many other anti-nutrients are infamous for causing further gut permeability, meaning holes in the mucosal lining.
