I was born in Northern Ireland in 1943, emigrated to Canada 58 years ago, and throughout my 81 years on this earth, I have seen many changes in food production, and consumption. My family and I were lucky to have lived in a small country village, where everyone had a garden. We had our own chickens, geese, turkeys and eggs. Fresh fish that was still alive when delivered to our door. We were surrounded by farms, where we picked up our fresh milk each morning.
My father and all our families grew our own fruits and vegetables, our mothers bottled many fruits and vegetables, and our parents kept root vegetables, and potatoes in sand pits throughout the Winter, until the new supplies from Europe made their way bye March into our green grocery stores. We ate seasonally, were very seldom sick, a sniffle was no reason to keep us off school, and Winter and Summer we played outdoors.
Today parents both work, processed food and drinks are the norm, chicken are grown in vast indoor areas, given doctored foodstuff, are processed in huge numbers before they are slaughtered, and filled with antibiotics, so eggs will not have salmonella. Our meats are sprayed with red dye after they have been butchered to make them more attractive. Many of our vegetables and fruits are sprayed with chemicals, probably not good for human consumption, and this list goes on and on and on.
How do doctors and scientists fight against the greedy companies who only care about profits and little about the health of their fellow human beings? How do we contend with politicians and governments who will do anything to make money that they can squander on helping wars and genocide continue throughout our world? Especially their friends who benefit financially from making war weapons, and who no doubt give them a share in the profits.
Our world is upside down today and let’s give what ails it its proper title. It has always been known as PURE EVIL.
Greetings to you both from Canada.🇨🇦🇬🇧🇺🇸

@@elizabethk3238 Grass raised meat/fat has all the omega 3 and 6 we need. Seed oils are not natural to eat in the quantities that they are used. Imagine how many of those seeds you would have to eat just to get a tablespoon of their oil. It would not happen naturally in our diets.
Humans have not evolved to cope with isolates of food products, yes we eat the seeds in their natural state, but then the oils in them are in miniscule amounts. Highly processed foods have only been in our diets for a few decades, prior to that we ate more seasonally and cooked with animal fats and olive oil.
Evolution or natural selection will wipe out people fed on unnatural diets. That's how it has always worked. The levels of ill health in society are evidence of natural selection at work.
Whilst doctors reach for the prescription pad before promoting wholefood diets and lifestyle changes, this isn't likely to change. Too many doctors and patients think salvation comes from a pill.

Park County in Indiana, birthplace of Mordecai “Three Finger” Brown - where we spent 10 summers- is home to very many Amish farmers. The Post Office there was supposed to close, but because the Amish relied on it so heavily for their businesses (and contact with the outside world), it was decided to spare it. I am a mom of 2 girls. I worked i hours everyday and still came home and cooked dinner. My Saturdays. Consisted of getting up early and getting to the farmers markets and fish markets to purchase everything fresh. When I brought it hone, I cleaned it all and packed it in the freezers. Things were great. We ate what I thought was good. I also grew some of our food in our backyard. Today I still grow...I am 73.
The problem came when the FDA allowed poisons to be put on our fields and in our foods. People who want easy ( processed foods), will have health problems.
My children and grand children are now grown. They have followed the mass. They eat too much processed and fast foods.
Unfortunately, the organic foods in the supermarkets are not really organic. They have been treated with "allowable" pesticides. We must read our labels. People have gotten so lazy. Go back to what your great-grandparents did. Grow your own food. Mansonta with their GMO seeds, roundup on wheat and oatmeal and other grains is killing you. I have not seen a real greenbelt, stringbeans in years. They are all GMO.
Big pharmaceutical, big Agriculture and big government is killing us all.

You are so right. At least in the Seventies and Eighties one could still eat healthy if one was careful and did not buy much junk. But now eating healthy is no longer possible even with fresh food. Produce is sprayed, waxed, picked raw adn artificially ripened and colored. Animals are fed vaccines and all kind of other chemical junk, plus growth hormones. Saw a chicken for market in the Sixties compared to a chicken for market today. The chicken today looked pathetically fat, huge and bloated. Chicken breasts are now as big as turkey breasts - not healthy. Egg shells are paper thin - something else wrong.

Recently, I could not believe it when Kier Starmer announced the proposal that smoking would be banned in pub gardens and public places. This he said will save the NHS money. I stared with disbelief at the news article. Surely the effects of obesity; diabetes, heart and crculation problems, costs the NHS yearly, far more than the effects of smoking does. Daily I see many more obese people than I do people smoking.

Growing up in a large family we ate beans, onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, and cornbread throughout the week and only on Sunday that we have meat such as chicken or pork roast. Very seldom did we eat a hamburger from a fast food place. We did not have snacks in the house like potato chips or cookies. We drank milk, water and iced tea. No colas at all. Mom cooked every meal for seven people three times a day. I don’t think anybody does that today, sad but true. Nothing out of a can or out of a box.

I'm 87 years old, from a lower middle class background where we had a simple diet of meat, potatoes and vegetables, most of it "fresh". My wife was from the same background and we never got out of our childhood eating habits.
My concern, however, is how much of the "fresh" food, whether meat, fruit or vegetables I buy today has been grown with the help of chemicals. These chemical additions to the growing process are all but invisible to the consumer. My concern, at this point, isn't so much for myself, but instead for my kids and grandkids.

However, I've learned from experience that you can do just as well - maybe even better raising crops in 5-gallon buckets or raised beds. This eliminates most weeds and drastically reduces the amount of water needed. This year we harvested 50 pounds of green peppers this way from only 11 plants. A good and safe pesticide is garlic oil mixed in water with just a smidgen of dish liquid added.

I am a 66-year-old Yank with a PhD from the UK. My wife of 30 years is Korean but born and raised in Japan. My point of the biography is this. A whopping 3% of Japanese youths are obese, contrasted with about 40-50% in the USA, and about 60% where I reside in New Mexico. In my more than a decade educating Japanese college students, I recall only ONE obese learner. In my youth in the USA, I earned the wrath of my mother as I stared agape at an obese adult. I knew no obese children. Of my 2 brothers and 2 sisters, some, including myself, have been vigilant regarding physical health, exercising and consuming nutrients diligently. Others are the reverse. ALL of us know precisely what we are and are not doing that impacts our health. I cannot believe that my family is unusual. Why some don't care about their personal wellbeing I attribute to their genes. Today, in the USA, young and old know what they are doing to themselves and subordinate it to indulgence. They do not generally delay gratification or otherwise behave maturely. Today, they seem to flout issues of responsibility, as if it were offensive. In closing, I am not surprised to observe 75% of the USA public allowing injections of all sorts. Yes, that one, but also tattoos. By the way, one has a 21% increased likelihood of lymphoma if they possess even one tattoo, not to mention the skin diseases. These are all signs of a failed community. I truly see no alternate scenario for the future. I am relieved not to have children and thereby grandchildren to worry about. -- Michael E. Dwyer, PhD

@@michaeldwyer9656 The problem is that healthier food actually costs more. Also, lower income and those who have larger families were advised for decades to expand their meals with pasta, rice, or bread to save money. Then retailers started pushing serving excess sweets for multiple invented holidays and making people feel like bad parents if they did not give their children these additional treats. Now comes the age of both parents working and feeling that they are depriving their children so must make up for it with even more regular treats and then it becomes habit for themselves as well to lower their anxiety supposedly 🤷🏼‍♀️

I suffer no ill effect from the food I have purchased and cooked over my long lifetime in this modern society, people I know are all healthy and so are my adult children and most people around me - UNTIL the medical system poisoned us during c*vid, and all the doctors assisted along with the nurses.
That is what they did - I do not trust them at all. Well-meaning people will still harm us with "supplements" and "alternative" nonsense as they have in the past.
You do not have to buy processed food - the truth is most people are too lazy to cook now and live on take-aways. Another reason is the working "wife" and the greed to earn money to buy even more unnecessary material things. Stay home, study about nutrition to gain knowledge and care for your family. Buy a cookbook - that would be a good start.
You say it's too late and seem to think 60 is old. Have you thought about emigrating to a less modern country. That would put you back in touch with how nature really is, and you could warn those people not to modernize while you perhaps can kill your own meat and grow your own veggies etc., live a healthier life and benefit that country. We are obviously too far gone to survive, this is how you describe us - so help yourself and others and leave. Or stay and do something about it all - you must have plenty of time now at 60, you will retire soon. .

A 10 lb bag of chicken legs at the same store is $8.72, so $0.87/lb while Doritos is $6.55/lb. You eat 1 lb of chicken and you're full. 1 lb of Doritos and you want something more to eat.

here’s something strange, hold out you're hand, try to show a friend debt illusion, what colour is it? what shape? what does it smell like? its not real! the veil! the lie!

pollution; when all people are responsible for their own garbage, they do not want anything that can cause them their family, friends and nature any damage and injury. all people making pollution from their businesses do not want it on their property. they pay a debt illusion for someone to take it away and put it somewhere else, where it causing damage and injury. avoid debt illusion-be creatively free
suffering; when anyone owes a debt illusion, people use terrorism, threats of torture and destruction, suffering, to try to force another to pay debt illusion. someone lost their sight, hated it, suffering, self pity, blaming others. a woman lost her sight, she forgave herself, learned to clean her place, cook, create music, even painting pictures, one of ballerinas dancing, she loved her life

there are people that believe that everything people have done is with and for debt illusion, think people would have nothing without debt illusion. yet everything created is by people sharing ideas for free with each other. none say i'm not creating anything until you pay me, blackmail? nothing would ever get created. all creators are surprised when they do create something. debt illusion actually stops creativity, debt illusion only steals, extortd. then try to inslave creators and even destroy them. look at children playing, laughing, joyful sharing ideas freely.
friends forgive each others debt illusion, enemies do not. forgive all debt illusion, forget all enemies, forget all wars, murders and destruction, remove debt illusion there is peace, love and creativity.

When I visited the US in 2014 I was staying in a central neighbourhood in Cleveland. A low income area. There were no supermarkets in that area that sold fresh food. It was a food desert. Governments that are moved by lobbyists behind the scenes that have no interests in the people who pay their salaries.

So many processed seed oils in everything. Hard to find hummus or salad dressing (anything) with only olive oil in it and most olive oil isn’t pure olive oil now - it’s a mix and they don’t disclose.

I use organic heavy cream with some crushed organic fresh garlic and lemon juice squeezed from one whole lemon put it in a blender blend it all up and put it in a bottle and keep it in the refrigerator and put that on your salad and you will die from happiness lol you can add some olive oil or honey if you want to.

We found a homemade mayonnaise to make and love it. Avocado oil, eggs, lemon juice, salt and we use balsamic vinegar (recipes call for plain vinegar). It has really good flavor and is easy to make and lasts for a week or more in the frig.

@@ricardoribeiro8037 This information is about the old establishment and is obscurantist for our health.
They have no idea about the photoelectric effect and how it affects our health through the mitochondria.
The food is 4th on the list.
      1st natural sunlight,
      2nd ̈ Purely structured water
      3rd ̈ grounding
      4th food.
      5th exercise.
If you don't photosynthesize through the Sun grounded to receive electrons for the mitochondrial nucleus and receive artificial blue light and EMF, then the mitochondria cannot produce energy - ultraviolet light through biophotons and pure structured water, whatever better food to give them plays no role because the whole system runs on photoelectrically.
