It’s that wonderful time of year, where we imagine what it will be like for our favorite artists to win, before remembering our hopes and dreams are going to be crushed by the hands Lauren Daigle & for King & Country.

Instead of spending money in this lavish event to get rewards, why not reward someone in need with that money or multiple people? This is just so Hollywood in a way.

Well, that sounds familiar..... 3 Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil. 4 But one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, who would betray Him, said, 5 “Why was this fragrant oil not sold for [b]three hundred denarii and given to the poor?” 6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it. John 12:3-5

@donmcc6573 is totally different from an awards event. Seriously.
In John 12:1-8, Mary anoints Jesus' feet with a costly perfume at a dinner in Bethany. Her act is humble and worshipful, and some say she did it because she loved Jesus and wanted to honor him. Wiping someone's feet was also an act of submission and servanthood. Mary's anointing may also have pointed to Jesus' identity as both the Messiah-King and the Servant-King.
Who are they honoring, Christ or themselves? Who are they rewardeding? Please do not try to compare me to Judas. That is really reaching.

@@uncleaa8955 You said the exact same thing Judas said. The comparison is correct. And who are you to say how other people should spend their money?

@donmcc6573 I wasn't telling anyone anything, and I'm not Judas. I was just making a statement. This is a totally different thing, and you're blowing it way out of proportion and making a terrible comparison. You never did answer. Who are they honoring? Themselves or Christ? What she did for Christ was to honor him because he was the Messiah. So, who are they honoring buy throwing an awards show? Themselves with their rewards or Chrsit?
Colossians 3:2- Set your affections on the things above, not on things of the earth.
Proverbs 19:17- Whoever is kind to the poor lend to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.
Deuteronomy 15:11- For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therfore I command thee saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to they needy, in thy land.
Matthew 19:21 - Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

@@uncleaa8955 You are the one who has blown it way out of proportion. There is nothing wrong with recognizing achievement. Kids get trophies for sports and educational achievement. Companies reward good employees. And every Christian concert I've been to since the 80s has done a presentation for organizations that help the poor. Your judgment is uninformed and wrong. Just because there are poor people in the world doesn't mean we can't have some nice things.
