@@isthatchrisk I think he means, it’s a shame he’s not an icon like Freddie Mercury, Elton John, or David Bowie, despite that he’s just as, if not more talented than them (at least more talented Elton). And the sad truth is because, he never felt the need to present himself as more than he is. He’s just a guy. No elaborate showmanship, not an abundance of lights and costumes. He’s just a New Yorker, who performs his songs. Without having to do all that. Which makes him more talented, at the expense of losing some iconography
I think why Queen works is because it’s not all just Freddie Mercury, there’s input on all ends, but Freddie being the most lively, is what sold their music. Elton John had a lyricist, which made all of his songs 1/2 of him. So to compensate for the other half he’d do all the costumes and lights so that he’s performing his music in the most personal way possible. Billy was my first concert as a 10-11 yr old kid. at the Richfield Coliseum, for the River of Dreams tour Seen him twice since but both arena shows. Would have been so cool to see a show like this
World class!
I love this guy can't get enough of him.I wish he'd come back upstate New York.I know it's political leanings, but he never plays that game. And that's why I love him
Singer-songwriter musician frontman dancer incredible
Oh yes! But... dancer? Are you sure? Lol 🎶🎵🎶
Another classic. BJ was the USA's version of Elton John, a piano playing songwriting singing tour de force putting out one quality song after another all the way through the 70s.
One of his best.
I'm trading futures while pooping right now and I love listening to Billy Joel.
