Hey peeps, I made a mistake saying this is not the first hot-swap board from Corsair... IT IS THE FIRST hot-swap! This would make my sassy comment around 7:53 totally inaccurate and I apologize for the error. Too many keyboards on the brain. -D.
Also, the "Most Customizable" comes from the Macro functions on the keyboard. Too many key combinations to list. And, this is a gaming keyboard designed with gaming in mind, not typing.
I'm totally new to all this RGB keyboard. Always been a laptop for the last 8 years. Just added this to my new Lenovo Legion 5 Pro RTX 3070. I love it. The RGB lighting option effect is like no other. The noise doesn't bother me like everyone been saying. Got it for a little under half the price on cyber week deal, so i say its a fair buy for me.
First I will say finally they released a wireless RGB mechanical keyboard and its about time now I only hope they continue and actually release a full keyboard with a numpad or one with at least one with dedicated arrow keys. Also another reason why I think they're calling it they're most customizable keyboard is because you can also change the bottom accent bar which I will admit it is pretty cool in my opinion. After looking into it a bit more the "accent" is just the front piece and not the whole bottom housing like I thought which makes it pretty lame now 😑
I'm still using a Corsair K100 because it's literally the best Gaming Keyboard money can buy right now... Don't see anything wrong with corsair (except their pricing)
The new k65 pro mini with OPX sounds and feels so much better, keys are smoother thanks to the better opx switch vs mx speed, and now they put damping materials, the keyboard no longer sounds hollow. This K70 pro mini IMHO feels just like the much cheaper K60 pro TKL, and that one at least has OPX, not MX speed.
Left my K70 RGB after about 6+ years (I had the older, on rgb version before it), for a gmmk2 (96%) keyboard. I must say, not only was it less expensive, but the quality is higher & there's no need to de-solder switches for lubing or *cleaning*.. The only thing I can say Corsair has at this point in time anymore- is just the RGB software/control. That's it. I've since learned & seen for myself there are so many great alternatives & even better features available on others brands. The beauty of it also being, they come in every price bracket you can imagine. The fact they priced that thing at $180 is about as hilarious as it is ludicrous; when you have alternatives at even HALF the price, with hot-swappable switches, BT/2.4gz/wired capable, aluminum construction, and- actually lubricated switches and stabilizers (my god, this shouldn't be something to have to mention for a bullet point smh), etc etc... I don't know if they're perhaps under the influence of something- but it's definitely curious to see :)
Nice alternatives for nowadays? I have a old K70 with Rapidfire keys that accompanied me through ~6 years. Now I need a portable alternative to have on the go for my PS5, I was thinking about the K65 or K70 TKL, are there better options? I tested a 60% T Dagger and a Reddragon ones from my uncle and they don't feel good at all, so I'm searching one with good build quality specially
Are those alternatives lag-free-wireless? If not, they’re not really alternatives. If they are, I’d love to hear what they are. Currently looking for the best wireless gaming keyboard.
5:28 I get the point of "if you spend 180 bucks you gotta have something ready to use and perfect" but people can still lube the switches and you'll have a pretty excellent experience. That being said. 180 bucks for this? I spent 80 total for my LK67 and it's completely custom.

Well I do understand you may not like so much what they did since you look a lot at the switches and those may be not as you wish them to be. I do however criticize you in terms of talking about the biggest pro it has which in my opinion definitely is that you may decide if u want to use Bluetooth, Frequenzy or the cable (while you do say that it comes too short in my opinion) and I have yet to find another 60% keyboard that allows all of these. I do know about some that allow cable and Bluetooth but as far as I know the Wooting 60HE for example which has the switches you would consider good e.g. ONLY runs on cable (at least if I am not mistaken). So for people who may not be looking for the one kind of switch they like but rather for a 60%, little bit customizable and wireless gaming keyboard it doesn't sound as bad as I think you make it seem. However I do agree that 180 or even 160 which it is now is still too much I think it would fit in at a around 120 or 130 maybe ?
So basically here we have a 180$ keyboard with features that most keyboards even from unknown brands have or with "useless" features (8Khz polling rate is way more useful on a mouse). People are still gonna buy this keyboard because they only know Corsair, Logitech and Razer. Good people if you really want a good keyboard, there are many brands who make prebuilt keyboards that are close to custom keyboard level without having to learn about keyboard modding and have 99% of the features you would like from this Corsair keyboard (wireless 2.4Ghz and Bluetooth, RGB, hotswap, 1Khz polling rate, macros with QMK/VIA or the software from the manufacturer). Go check out channels like Badseed tech, Hipyo tech, Keybored, ..., it will open up your eyes towards how wide the 2022 keyboard market is.
Just bought another Microsoft ergonomic keyboard for $50 and it's an excellent typing experience for me. My wrists can't handle straight keyboards for any length of time and the MS brown key action, size, spacing, and layout are excellent. I would prefer a physically split keyboard and separate number pad so I can arrange it for different purposes (like mouse in the middle) for gaming and productivity, but I'm not happy with the available options in that area - so MS Ergo is its for me. I've been using ergonomic keyboards for 15 years and will never go back to straight ones.
Maybe look into the Alice keyboard from Keychron. It's a split ergonomic keyboard but with all features and build of a customizable mechanical keyboard. But it's definitely on expensive range of keyboards
hopefully when razer refreshes their blackwidow line they make those switches hotswap as well. if youre already in the icue ecosystem then this is probably fine if you want a 60% board but even logitech offers this on a tkl board so hopefully those get expanded out more as well as hyperx, roccat, and razer making their stuff hotswap because those are also huge brands that should have been doing this by now and i know people like their lighting ecosystems a lot
That port's gonna be a problem if you want to use the same keyboard at home and at work, ie, you really have to shove a cable in and out of that port instead of being able to use a magnetic plug.
I have the k65mini myself only reason I got it cause most of my pc parts are Corsair. Ram fans cooler. So I wanted to sync rgbs. I hope they re-release the k65mini with a hot swappable pcb. So I can use something other than cherry switches. And I know I could build my only custom but for me really just comes down to wanting to sync my rgbs with a single software and not have a bunch of it running in the background.
Man, I like the looks of it, that's a shame. Was gonna buy this, I'm looking at going wireless entirely for peripherals, but for now I think I'll stick with Corsair's wired offerings. I'm using the k55 pro kb because I found it cheap online, a Harpoon pro which is honestly one of my favorite mice that I've ever owned and their both well within the lower end of my price range. I've had the HS60 for a while as well. I like Corsair in general, but this isn't the one for me, especially for almost 200 bucks. I'll probably pick up a K100 and a replacement Harpoon, plus the wireless Virtuoso headset, for my next purchases as far as peripherals go. It's time to build a new PC.
Paid marketing strategy. These guys have contracts with low budget keyboard companies. Most of em will review it to trash it. It's really up to you to try it on your own
I use full size Logitech G915... I got it for 130$, and I am very happy with it! It is not travel friendly keyboard, as it is heave as BIG as hell! But I am plying stationary and I hate cables! :P
All they have to do, is Low profile version TKL in k70 family with pbt keycaps and the traditional media control and volume dial, and they will dominate the market, but they just don’t.
I would love to have a wireless keyboard by Corsair, but I do need my dedicated arrow keys. And there's not a lot of option when it comes to Corsair wireless keyboards with dedicated arrow keys, shame. I don't understand why they just can't make a little more expensive K60 PRO TKL in a wireless variant...
One point I think you missed about the hot swap sockets is that they appear to be only 3 pin versus the standard 5 pin option. Yes you can clip the extra 2 pins off your switches and they will work just fine but not everyone wants to take the time or cut up switches.
Are there any other alternatives than the keyboards you mentioned for a wireless gaming keyboard? I’m not talking about the Bluetooth only keyboards like Keychron
Last week or so, I was trying out the K70 TKL... I liked the keys and the iCue app, and the volume wheel... and that's about it o.0 The downside for me was the dimly lit LEDs. Even turning the LEDs to white only, and brightness to Max, it was as bright as the lowest setting on my older Logi G610 0.o I originally bought the Logi k/b for the brighter white LEDs as my desk area isn't brightly lit, but I need lower lighting for my eyes, but slightly brighter on my k/b, and the G610 gave me that. However, it's getting on (almost 6 yrs now) with the volume wheel getting wonky etc. I tried other k/b, as well, looking for good key and esp the lighting factor. I tried a cheapy Amazon special with white caps, but the blue LEDs were too dim, same for the G413 TKL with white LEDs with 3 settings, and again, not very bright! Then I found the HyperX (Dmitri will luv this name) Alloy Origins Core TKL etc etc LOL The k/b app, Ngenuity, is iffy once you get the hang of it... but the big seller was the very bright LEDs!! 4 settings, like my old G610, with RGB as well ;) So, it's white for regular work, and colours for gaming. You have 3 profiles you can store on the board's memory, you just need to totally exit the app, so it doesn't interfere with the profiles and switching etc. AND it was on sale too!! Which was nice as the first one I bought had clacky Blues, but I one I got has Cherrys, and I also swapped out some of the caps for the HyprX black and white pudding caps I bought last year to jazz up my older k/b.. sounds weird, but I like the eclectic look of the board now ;) Thanks for sharing, D !!
Did you get key chatter? I have it on my A and F key where one press = 2 to 5 presses. FYI... Corsair 2 year warranty involves sending you a REFURBISHED item in exchange. This is never expressed on Bestbuy or Amazon. It usually just says 2 year manufacturer's warranty. I feel it should say (If after 60 days your product will be replaced with a refurbished model) I bet sales would drop if customers knew this up front. I will never buy another Corsair product.
If they're going to go wireless they should have made it 65% for office workers, and also multi-device bluetooth. I would say the wireless market are for hybrid office / gamers, or office only use.
If i'm going to spend $180 on a keyboard it better blow me away and this Corsair one does not. You can find better options for a lot cheaper. For example I picked up a MageGee for about $40 and I got a full keyboard with numpad, it's hot swappable, comes with a full second set of keycaps (I bought the black and grey version). The only drawbacks are that it has a wired USB connection and no RGB just white LED backlit keycaps.
Honestly big brands like Corsair, Asus, Logitech really lag behind in the keyboard game compared to new brands and offerings from China. Get something from Epomaker, Keychron, Yunzi, Akko and It'll beat this keyboard in every regard
I'm surprised they're lacking after being leaders for so long. I bought the k95 platinum a long time ago, then came thr k70 se silver color which I liked so much I bought two of. I'm set for a good while with 3 keyboards, but I'll upgrade to wireless in the future for sure.
This keyboard is on sale in my country, at $100 only. Is it worth it, guys? I'm using a Ducky One 2 SF. I'm all happy about it, but I'm looking for a wireless gaming keyboard.
can't seem to understand why a non-hotswap keyboard is considered as not customizable, unless the keyboard come with irregular switches you could just like pick up your soldering tool and buy some mill max, though as far as the vendor using regular or standard components, layouts, measurement, etc I suppose it's still customizable
Save yourself the trouble and get the logitech g915 tkl tactile. Led is way lighter, less chance of misclick while gamning due to low key size, full layout without using fn then pressing a desired key for an action. I can keep going on and on. do not get this esp if you do not have a true desktop setup/ ie using home theater pc / gaming on bed. The high keys will make it impossible to play without mis clicks. if this is your first gaming keyboard and you never used full sized cherry mx keycaps then it will frustrate you so much. My opinion, if you want a open switch system, get a full/tkl version of cherry mx and hurry and buy a low profile keyset.
The stabs felt really bad, geez I know I became kind of a keeb snob when it comes to acoustics, but bro you can't have a stab job this dirty at this pricepoint. The cheaper wired K65, I could almost forgive, as it was one of the many problems the board had besides that, and those ones would make it a bad value even if the stabs were properly lubed and tuned. It really kills me that smaller brands have acces to factories that can do a correct lube job on the stabs and actually making them sound great, and the giant compamy that Corsai, Razer, Logitech are just simply can't. And they're all charging su[er high prices, sometimes getting into custom keeb territory, while still retaining really bad and blatant oversights in the conception or tuning of the board. Damn.
Lmao get a keychron q4 instead, it's cheaper and better in every way. Full aluminum, foam filled, via/qmk compatable, south facing rgb, hot swappable, and an actually good quality sound. Gaming brands just cannot compete.. it's not even close.
The keychron q4 doesn't have wireless. And if you care about games at all this has 1.1 ms wireless latency and the keychron q4 has an absolutely horrible 11.3 ms wired latency.
I feel like Cherry is a mediocre switch now compared to what you can actually get, i'd replace these switches with some lubed ones if i would ever get this keyboard.
Doing tests on my gateron optical switch keyboard I have a hard time doing sub 10ms. To get 9ms I need to turn my keyboard on it's side and then press the key rapidly as fast as I possibly can and then a few of the presses might get 9ms... which means I can't saturate 125hrz polling rate with the length of the key travel on those switches. There is no possible way anyone can use 8khrz polling, I doubt anyone can even saturate 500hrz
Is it just me or the LED housing on the socket is protruding out of the PCB, would this thing even fit flat bottom switches like the old Cherry mx or some other switches that doesn't have an opening at the bottom for led? 3 pin North Facing for $180, looks like plastic frame as well, yikes.
How does this compare to anne pro 2? I have a royal kludge and I know these are technically better but I can't find any fault or reason to upgrade even though I usually like to cause its so perfect
also the razer and ducky keyboards are cool but wireless is a big factor for these small keyboards, If I wanted one with wires and not something portable I'd buy a full sized keyboard not this form factor.
And again, mainstream mechs are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind the custom market. And now that there is a bunch of in stock option for cases, kits, keycaps, switches, etc. There is absolutely no reason to look at these brands.
I got key chatter on my k70 in 10 months of ownership. Corsair customer service is garbage. It took 3 weeks to reply to my RMA to state they only send out refurbished items after 60 days. My keyboard is mint condition so clearly they have terrible quality control. They experience has made me spread the word about how bad Corsair is.
Never buying corsair again. Purchased the RGB keyboard and mouse 2 years ago. The keyboard has issues with keys repeating, and the mouse cuts in and out at random points. Also the keyboard takes up 2 usb ports. Never again.
The Corsair or the Logitech. Avoid razer keyboards. They make a good 12 key (the naga) that is better than the scimitar and logitechs knock off version, and that’s the only razer peripheral I would recommend. Corsair keyboards are imo better than anything else on the market for the price you pay. Don’t worry about key delay or any of that shit. Find one that sounds and feels good under your fingers. I promise you this guy can’t actually tell the quality of the switch as easily as he’s trying to show here.
iCue RGB only sync's when connected with a wire. its a *wireless* kb. seriously wtf? my corsair mouse/headset all sync over wireless. returned. back to my ROG Falchion 65%.
Looking at their website, they keep talking about customizability. But there isn't even any mention about case compatibility or whatever, but just swappable keycaps and switches - which these days are standard for most boards. Honestly quite disappointed with the direction Corsair is going with their keyboards now, just a few years ago they were on top of the prebuilt mechanical keyboard world but now they just can't even compare, even against budget options.
just picked one up to try well a stud broke off already changing the spacebar oh and the lkeft shift and a other key or so feel stiff Wtf corsair the steel series mini keys feel better when pressing im hoping a bad unit but theres no excuse for stiffness like that to where its hard to press
Took the Author's advice and paid $140 bucks instead. Apart from a stiff shift key, it's pretty good. Personally, what gets to me is the software after you've paid for the hardware. I think it would be great if someone would do reviews on their supporting apps, but it tends to get ignored. After using a wireless HyperX mouse and wired keyboard without much drama, I decided to try the famous Razer brand, but ended up refunding because the mouse couldn't save a 'show windows desktop' macro to OB memory (razer confirmed this) and the keyboard couldn't save my simple lighting arrangement without Synapse running in the system tray. HyperX gear could however, so I was surprised at Razer's...lack of skills? Or shall we say data mining desires.. Asus was next and that Armoury Crate...Need I say more? Then a Logitech super rattly, greasy, fragile G915 TKL.. refunded. I was reluctant to try corsair given its 1GB+ installer size, however the online aspect is short, the interface fairly streamlined and I'm able to create and save ample macros and lighting assignments to hardware memory without the need to have iCUE running so decided to keep this keyboard at least. It's pretty stressful not knowing the limitations and constraints of the software before buying the hardware, well at least for me.

i got it for 88 bucks on black friday is that worth it or is it still not worth it
I'm still using one of their old wired K70's with MX Reds. That thing has survived multiple slams after being unalived for the hundredth time...
I've spilled at least 7 beers into mine and it's still going strong since 2013.
Got logitech k915 lightspeed tkl on prime days for £108. Small enough for me. 180 for this? No thank you.
Hey! Why haven't you reviewed the K70 TKL yet? Praised from a lot of different sources but i would like to hear your opinion on it
Is this keyboard good for gaming?
When is the review for the wooting 60he coming??👀👀
LOVE the Badseed Tech pad.... got it myself!!!
I got the k65 mini and I found that I was able to memorize what the extra function keys were without the text printed on the side
$180? You can get a good custom for that much....
Do you have the best gaming table review?
It's really up to you to try it on your own
This keyboard slaps, I guess corsair didnt pay them enough to recommend it.
I bought this keyboard. I love it. I got mine new for under 100.00!!!
Bro, I got it. It is the best in 60% which is what I was looking for. Corsair quality.
It is not the first hot swap from Corsair. The OPX switches on the K100 are hot-swapable.
I thought this too, also thought about how his subscribers are probably a lil more advanced and recognize this as we did.
Which was nice as the first one I bought had clacky Blues, but I one I got has Cherrys, and I also swapped out some of the caps for the HyprX black and white pudding caps I bought last year to jazz up my older k/b.. sounds weird, but I like the eclectic look of the board now ;)
Thanks for sharing, D !!
Totally off topic but can you please give your thoughts on the best headset to play escape from tarkov??!!
What's your mouse pad Dimitri?
I just got the Razer v3 Mini 65%, for $100 on prime day 🙌🏾
I got mine here in Australia for roughly $120USD a month or two after launch via a Prime Day sale and scooped it up very quick 🥰😇👍
Next Iteration - make it 65% and obviously add in your suggestions and I would think about it but agree that it is not worth it at the moment
hate how tall the buttons are, love the low profile of my G915 even if its a full size desk beast
It’s ok to be dumb, but what’s the point of showing it ?
Bought mine for 70 from Corsair
The stabs felt really bad, geez
I know I became kind of a keeb snob when it comes to acoustics, but bro you can't have a stab job this dirty at this pricepoint.
Damn.
Corsair made a Hotswap board with no support for 5 pin. That makes it harder to customize.
Lol so true. North facing LEDs and 3 pin...pretty bad.
FIRST? are... people still doing this? or nah?
-D.
Apparently they are 😭 stuck in 2007
I have 2 Anne Pro 2 keyboards that cost me less and do similar things.
No reason to ever swap from my Logitech g915 tkl
is the iquinix better?
It's now $119 on Amazon.
Should i be using the 8,000hz polling rate for gaming?
No
Please review the Wooting 60HE!
I feel like Cherry is a mediocre switch now compared to what you can actually get, i'd replace these switches with some lubed ones if i would ever get this keyboard.
k bought it, oops. like it.
Does this work with low profile switches and caps?
I use a kb55 corsair keyboard actually have 5 now I replaced all my logitecjh g910s with these and could not be happier
I got it for 90usd.
Also got it on sale for around 95$ USD (paid 128$ CAD). I think for this price it's good
Hey Dim you have SS nova pro wireless with you but why haven't you reviewed it yet?
This is really sound like a solid keyboard.
Corsair is a little extreme with their keyboard prices. I love my k95 but it was pricey even with the $100 discount.
I got key chatter on my k70 in 10 months of ownership. Corsair customer service is garbage. It took 3 weeks to reply to my RMA to state they only send out refurbished items after 60 days. My keyboard is mint condition so clearly they have terrible quality control. They experience has made me spread the word about how bad Corsair is.
yeah why buy this while the wooting keyboard is here?
Never buying corsair again. Purchased the RGB keyboard and mouse 2 years ago. The keyboard has issues with keys repeating, and the mouse cuts in and out at random points. Also the keyboard takes up 2 usb ports. Never again.
Hell no. I just pre ordered that wooting 60he 🙌
Welcome to the club! :D
What game is it you are playing at 7:14 ?! :O
whats ur is the best among corsair k100, huntsman elite, ss apex pro, logi g915
The Corsair or the Logitech. Avoid razer keyboards. They make a good 12 key (the naga) that is better than the scimitar and logitechs knock off version, and that’s the only razer peripheral I would recommend. Corsair keyboards are imo better than anything else on the market for the price you pay. Don’t worry about key delay or any of that shit. Find one that sounds and feels good under your fingers. I promise you this guy can’t actually tell the quality of the switch as easily as he’s trying to show here.
Thanks for saving us from the dinosaurs man.
what about steelseries and wooting ? its like you're not awae of new releases, living in the past
iCue RGB only sync's when connected with a wire. its a *wireless* kb. seriously wtf? my corsair mouse/headset all sync over wireless. returned. back to my ROG Falchion 65%.
Nova wireless pro headsets? Review?
just picked one up to try well a stud broke off already changing the spacebar oh and the lkeft shift and a other key or so feel stiff Wtf corsair the steel series mini keys feel better when pressing
im hoping a bad unit but theres no excuse for stiffness like that to where its hard to press
How can i turn off the rgb without using icue?
Looks like a great board but no way is that worth $180. That price needs to come down by over 30% before people should even think about it.
Edit: It went on sale a week later, was refunded the difference. Paid $114 :-)
Guys, does K70 wireless have white (mecury) version like k65 mini?
As a person who uses iCUE for my Scimitar mouse sometimes it just randomly doesn't recognize the mouse
