When I was a teenager, my mom made blueberry preserves. We used the type of blueberries, you go out into the field and pick. Not a fun thing to do. It is more work than it seems getting those little blueberries off those blueberry bushes. Anyhow she didn't add any sugar, she just cooked down the blueberries till they were nice and thick and jarred it up. It was the best blueberry jam ever. Like blueberry pie in a jar.
