it makes combat mode intense and challenging, not easy and bland
because those jamming or weapon breaks happen during combat and will make you vulnurable, i just can't stand easy games, i mean sure that it could be frustrating, but you can still make things challenging without it being appaling.

I love every "makeshift gun made out of everyday appliances" design. Idk why it's just I love looking at them and seeing every little bit that went into making a functions firearm.
It kind of bothers me. Granted, having make-shift guns is cool and makes sense, but looking at the guns a lot of the parts look pointless and goofy, as well as some of the attachments being semi-unrealistic, which is more of a me problem as I am sort of a stickler when it comes to realism (I understand it's a game).
Thats just my two cents. Not saying you're wrong, just throwing in my perspective.

@@pajamapantsjack5874 Then again in new dawn the guns were all found in whatever condition they were and got some "maintenance" work in order to function again. Metro has many of it´s guns build from scratch. The only exceptions are the revolver (2033 and last light), the kalash, AS VAL, saiga and the P90s bigger brother (forgot it´s name). Everything else is build from scratch.

They literally took regular guns from the previous games, slapped some nuts and bolts and tubes on it and called it “makeshift.”

The MG42 in this game isn't actually as good as the Buzzsaw in Far Cry 4 because this one has ridiculous recoil and you can barely control the weapon. In Far Cry 4, the Buzzsaw had little to no recoil at all.

You know, I just had a random thought while watching this. Instead of throwing away the empty magazines, wouldn't the Captain want to save them for use later, since mags would be scarce in the post apocalypse? I mean then again, they could probably craft more.
I love all these animations. I just wish they just went back to Far Cry 5 and replace the animations.
They do for the AR-C. I think they do for more of them as well, it's just not as apparent in those animations as it is for the AR. You can see that they keep hold of the clip they eject when they're reloading the 1911 and the MP5, for instance.

I like how the MS16 and the MP40 have camera shake now during their reloads. It just goes to show that all a reload needs to have order to look its best is some good old fashioned camera shake.
The RPG reload feels a lot better as well. It felt really weightless and unbelievable in FC5, but I do miss the hammer click though.
The SPAS-12 reload is also a lot better than FC5's, which is not to say that the one in FC5 was bad.
Telling ya, Ubisoft can implement RPG elements in to almost any game genre.

all im gonna say is far cry new dawn was the perfect time to reintroduce the jamming mechanic. Rusty old guns barely surviving nuclear fallout and aging without any owner to care for and maintain. So not only would it had made sense for the time period but it would also have introduced an interesting mechanic to play around just like in FC2. And they could have added an option to turn it off for more casual players. Woulda been sick

im honestly upset they didnt push the weapons in this game further. theyre all pretty much modeled after contemporary mass-manufactured guns when they had great opportunity to make more shabby, original, post-apocolypse weapons, like a ram-rod shotgun, or modified flare-gun.

Most operators of G3-style firearms mention how hard it is to seat a magazine on a closed bolt. If you take that into account, the extra magazine push makes sense.

You've got the recurve bow and compound bow mixed up. The first one is a compound bow the 2nd is a recurve bow.

@@Milo-xb3gj I spent craptons of resources on the rusty variant than the elite version, my elite lvl4 does 215 DMG but my rusty lvl 1 does 326 DMG per shot and yes its my fav weapon from fc5 and double yes I prefer the lvl 1 over the lvl4 cause of that juicy sweet reload animation and triple yes I think john seed is jealous of how much I'm saying YES
@@Milo-xb3gj and also just cause the lvl4 has a bayonet and multiple ammo choices as well as an optic don't make it better I hardly use any other ammo than its standard 55.6 round I'm happy it shoots fast has firing modes and has a nice reload its the only weapon I enjoy because my inventory is full of lvl4 weapons except the ar-c rusted of course and who doesn't like post-apoc iron sights

I think it's funny how throughout far cry, the guns seem to always be mirrored from their real life counterparts
They're always (almost always) a left handed version of the gun, with the ejection port and such on the left side, yet you still shoot right handed.

I wish that other post Apocalypse games had more makeshift weapons like the pipe guns in fallout 4 , bandit variant from borderlands , metro built ones for the vibes

I dunno why, but I love this game and its vibe for some reason. Yeah, it's got lots of plot holes and bad writing, but its kinda special to me. I've last played it a couple years ago and still got Highwaymen radio tracks on my playlist.
Btw, at 5:49 this AR-15 is so rusty its bolt carrier doesn't move. But it still works, what a craftsmanship!

I love the feature that rusty weapons aren't working well
The animations for the Rusty MP5, Rusty 1911, Rusty M133, and Rusty AR-C are probably some of the most logical in this game. For the MP5 and M133 in particular, these animations really show that the internal mechanics of the weapon are pretty much locked up. For the MP5, I like how your character has to physically force the maagzine into the weapon to actually reload before punching the bolt forward in anger. For the M133, your character is forcing the shells into the magazine because the tube is partially locked up. It really gives a sense that these weapons are NOT in good condition and desperately need cleaning and repairs.

If you want an example of makeshift weapons, look at fallout 4s or 76s pipe rifles. THOSE are makeshift weapons.
