Only 5 months into Unreal??? Nice work!! How did you get round all the learning of UI and tools in Unreal? Do you have any tutorials to help others at all yet? Also could you tell me if you are using the built in camera or are you using one from the marketplace?
If they continue to collaborate with other engines then they'd have a chance, but right now Unreal's purposes aren't fully capable of everything VFX needs-- there'll always be a place for Houdini, Cinema4D, etc. Thank you for watching!
UE4 really isn't. UE5 might be. The quality still isn't there for me. Also, the GI and Reflections of Lumen are bound to screen-space and temporal artefacting. There are improvements to Nanite that will enable features like trees and foliage to work with the virtualised geometry system so that will improve outdoor scenes immensely. By UE6, I'm predicting that UE might start to replace biased renderers for VFX in the "traditional" pipeline. UE is definitely a skillset worth knowing.
Most of what UE5 adds over UE4 only really helps with rendering in real time. UE4 already has ray tracing which you'd be using if you're rendering a still image and not a real time image at 60 frames per second for example for a game. Nanite in UE5 only lets you add more geometry in a scene without as much slow down. Lumen in UE5 only lets you add physically simulated global illumination without as much slow down as ray tracing. But you don't care about slow down if you're just rendering 1 image. But UE5 is out of early access now anyway so you might as well use that anyway I guess haha.
This video is super inspiring and I'm so happy I found it and your channel. I come from a similar background and I've recently picked up Unreal. My mind is expoding with what's possible. Keep up the high quality content! Some of the best I've seen. Subbed!
WE'RE so glad you found this channel!! Unreal is the future... and we hope you're enjoying all the possibilities! Thanks so much GGG, maybe we can see what you've come up with some time soon!
Wow....I think I've found what I'm looking for but let me ask my question. Can I take a for example a picture of myself, and turn that into an anime or a realistic cartoon of myself, and put that into another picture or I guess in Unreal create the environment myself, but I already have the pictures that I want to use and they are different scenes that I want to put my family in...is that possible with unreal 5? I just thought of this...example Halo...can I take a scene from halo, let's say master chief is in it, and put a picture of myself in it's place? Again, I'm new, I'm learning and I hope that I explained myself ok.
First, this guy is awesome. Second, he looks like a camera assitant to me, nice. Saying that, i was a camera assistant and work in unreal now. The copilot explanation about how VFX people work, pure lies. Its not like a modeler puts his asset in the middle of the scene with a top light and says perfect. That has been decided long ago.
This guy truly is amazing. An artist of the future!
Rumor has it he's coming back on CoPilot real soon 👀
I downloaded Unreal today with this in mind! Happy to find this video
That is awesome to hear! Enjoy Unreal!!
Loved this video! Thanks for sharing this with the world
Arthur deserves all the recognition he's awesome!
Great video, as a photographer/director myself I'm thinking about starting virtual photography with the stunning VFX UE5 has
Go for it! The camera people of the world definitely have an advantage in seeing angles and shots within the engine. Best of luck!

Nice video! It's really well done. Do you think UE4 is the ultimate endgame for everything VFX?

Best video on YT
Great little video. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! We love seeing the awesome new ways artists are using Unreal-- and even better, showing of their work!

I am starting to learn Blender and now UE5 is amazing, when I open Unreal for me is another world is totaly different.
It really is! And combining the modelling you do in Blender with Unreal Engine makes you a superhero!
