  • Now we just need physical bulk storage for sticky blocks.

This could *maybe* be used as a dissasembler for flying machines, although I have no idea why anyone would need that. Great machine though!

I like your "I made a 100% useless machine for no reason, bye!". something may be useless, but the fun is worth all the costs

Could you just have a pair of slime and honey block moving back and forth next to the head of the block stream? Then depending on whether the next block in the stream is slime or honey it'll move left or right, effectively sorting between the two blocks. Only issue then is that they need to be split again...

That would work fine too. You'd just have to separate the individual slime/honey blocks in a different way

    -Makes an amazing machine
-Makes a 2 minute video about it
    -Refuses to elaborate further

I could see that potentially usefull, if you have a flying machine getting disassembled and rebuild. But when would that concept be usefull as well as how would you deal with the other blocks in the machine
My best guess would be some sort of automatic expanding Perimeter System? Where you could in theory build the flying machine for a Perimeter, have a disassambly station at the endpoint, that pushes the blocks back up and a ssembly Station ready, to create the next perimeter?
But than you could just build 2 flying machines to begin with... Yeah this is propably one of the cases of "neat, but useless" :D

Minecraft Alan Turing is at it again. This is unreasonably neat.

These small things excite me. Yeah, this is useless now, but in some not-so-far future where we have another redstone Revolution maybe this will become instrumental in building some fancy flying machine technologies.

    hey wait a minute
with this sort of detection, it might be possible to make a very basic turing machine

does it sort other block types (like glass vs cobble) when they also have the conductivity separation?

i was kinda hoping it was based on sticky behavior, considering you can separate slime from itself, i would assume the same works from honey, that would make for an amusing mechanism
