Garmin Force: How to set Wi-Fi Password! If not set you may look as puzzled as this guy.

The first step when connecting the Active Captain app to the Garmin Force Trolling Motor is setting the Wi-Fi password. It is done with the Garmin Force remote. After your password is set, your phone will connect to the Force trolling motor. It will allow an update to transfer from the Active Captain app.

Do you have to set it up every time you go out or is it a one time thing?

Only once. I have done many updates since I set the password. One thing to keep in mind, transferring an update from your Active Captain app on your phone to the Garmin Force trolling motor takes time. It doesn't transfer very fast.
