One of my side plate came off while operating the boat, couldn't retrieve it. Ordered a pair from this website, I couldn't be any happier with the super fast shipping and the OEM part. Will definitely be my go to store.
... Subscribed with the bell. Thanks. . 2016 Xi5, 36V, SW, Pinpoint. Has always worked great until the last few trips where the power to the prop was intermittent. Is there an internal switch that connects and disconnects when deploying and retracting? That seems to be where the issue is. . Last trip out, 4/9/23, prop would not turn all all. Everything else works as it should. Checked for 36V to the Battery Tender plug on the bow- Good. 36V Monster lithium battery a few months old. Thank you. . Jeff .
I've taken mine in for service twice and both times they couldn't find anything wrong with it. The first time the problem was in the remote control, so now i keep at least two on the boat, with spare batteries also. The second time my motor would make one single beep when deployed but then not respond to any controls and my indicator lights were not lit. I replaced my plug in connector and 50amp breaker, everything working now. My power cord is baked by the sun very bad so i would recommend getting a cover for that if anybody hasn't already done it.
I’m on my second gps module. Bought one to return it and get a new one that still doesn’t work. The motor will not get signal. The install is easy. Am I missing something to get it to squire signal? I know I have to do the calibration but I’m not even getting a signal on my indicator panel
I agree I got mines in 2017 and only replaced the controller once. it still run strong. I also keep in the garage when not In use and WD40 it after every wash. Salt water model. 😊
Where can I get the cable adapter that plugs into the left side cable of the xi3 ? I can’t find any adapter with that make 6 pin circular configuration
Good video thanks. I have a question: my motor guide Xi3 will not turn left or right when I’m controlling it manually from the remote, but when I hit the anchor button, the steering works as it supposed to. I’m thinking just replace the control board?
Hey I bought a new control board and curly cord from y’all and installed them but still no left or right steering……and recommendations? Also there is no sound while trying to steer it left or right
Yeah my biggest problem is the play in the foot pedal. I can press down almost an inch both ways and it never engages the steering. I wonder if it’s a loose cable. The Older styles with the metal foot pedal I’ve got so many of those fans they are the best trolling motor I’ve ever used
I run an Xi5 spotlock with a Humminbird Helix 7. Lately I've been having issues with interference on the sonar screen but only when the motor is moving forward or backward. The screen still shows depth and structure however it has lines running vertical across it making it difficult to see fish. if I shut off the propeller everything clears up. Any ideas what would be causing this?
My Xi5 is going on 8 years now. 1st year I had GPS problems, random loss of GPS and or anchor spot or heading. Took it in the shop they had it for two months, changed software "updated" it and said it was fixed. Got it back soon the same issues again. I took it apart and found that the wires going into the GPS modules where looking like they were pulled out a little. Motor guide send me new GPS modules, I rigged up a more robust cable clamp. i have no issues since. I cannot hear the alarms on the motor guide or the Lowrance F.F. that I use for controlling the Xi5. It looses anchor in a stiff wind and if sleeping or not paying attention I could drift into rocks fast. I can't hear the Anchor lost position alarm. I am building an Mic and Amp for the alarm to wake me up and let me know when I loose anchor position.

No bueno. I'm sure most have issues. Motherboard and pinpoint GPS would be annoying. I don't know if that remote floats. My luck it would break and go for a swim. Thank you for the info Rob.
Could you tell me if I could just disable the GPS on my Xi5? Don't really use it. Both of my cables are cracking and it seems so expensive to replace for something I don't use.
Mines won’t make turns. Turns on goes forward and slows down stops everything else but once I hit my remote and tell it to turn or anchor it makes the noises just won’t turn. I don’t know what to do
XI-5 unit- was not operating with the RC so I bought a new one. Now , when I operate it manually with RC, it shuts down after about 4 minutes. On the Lorrance unit, I have to re-set the auto pilot function each time this happens. What setting do I need to change on one or both units? Help please.
55 lb Xi5 with GPS is having issues since the dongle update and .SWUP software update. I can’t calibrate the gps. It’ll time out during calibration doing the tight circles with the outboard. It did accept a factory default gps calibration though. It also does the runaway speed routine when using cruise control. It also blasts RFI when using my Airmar transducer at the transom. Would a control board replacement be worthwhile to try? It’s an early build (2016) according to customer service. Thanks
My XI5 will only turn right, Is this a control board issue? My coil cord is working ok but it is degraded from sun exposure. The thick "collar" part where it connects to the trolling is split.
I got mine directly connected to a fully charged 12v battery. None of the indicator lights are on, but I did see the power one flickering a few times like it was trying to come on. Is this power cord related for motherboard related?
my xi5 is saying it is low battery, checked volts and amps on batteries(24 volt) and even tried recharging batteries. but chargers saying 100 % charged. what would you recommend I look at first. Both batteries are only 6 months old.
i was about to buy a motorguide xi5 but now i dont know . so if motorguide is bad who makes a great 24 volt 70 to 80 inch shaft with all the things that xi5 has? thanks for replying
What about the stow and deploy lock pins. Those flimsy little push caps will not stay on the pins, the arm that controls the locks (hooks, whatever you call them) will slip off the pin and you cannot deploy, or stow based on which position but it usually deploy because it happens when you step on the release foot control. Mine did this the second time out, and two of my buddies have had the same issue. Cannot find the parts to fix it!
