I bought a Powerdrive in 2020. Absolute garbage for 2.5 years, then I brought it to a different shop and voila, ran like a champ for a year until I put an Ultrex on the boat. I keep it around as a spare for tourneys now.

Everything mentioned in the video is accurate. On my previous Ranger FS621 I had a Force. On this Ranger FS 620 I put a Kraken for the longer shaft. From the operational perspective I really DO NOT like the Kraken. It is VERY difficult to deploy and stow. I doubt that many women and most kids could lift or lower it.

I have another issue with my ultrex. I have already had the motor lock up and not turn so the sensor board did repair that issue. I had water in the lower unit or foot so I bought a whole new lower assembly and replaced with it working as should. Now I have the foot controller clicking with flashing lights when I step on the throttle button. I bought a new power button and replaced but did not fix the issue. I have had nothing but problems with this trolling motor but I do like the ipilot so I stick with it. I don't want to buy a new trolling motor after having bought a new Vexus and installed trolling motor less than 2 years ago. Can anyone help out? To clarify, the foot controller turns on as should but clicks and flashes when stepping on throttle button. The unit will turn as should but will not spin?

my Xi3 will not calibrate no matter how many times I go around. I have to turn it off to reset it. My spot lock works fine. When I try to use a preset to go to a nearby saved location the motor goes nuts. It will either start stop every second or the motor will spin in circles until the cable binds. I have tried resaving presets at my favorite spots but it does not help. Maybe 2 or 3 times it randomly worked but usually goes in a wide arc to get there.

Could you tell me if I could just disable the GPS on my Xi5? Don't really use it. Both of my cables are cracking and it seems so expensive to replace for something I don't use.

Is the head rotation correction in Kraken as terribly loud as in Force?

I’m a Lowrance guy, but have always had Minn kota trolling motor’s. I follow both on Facebook and the Lowrance has so many little things that people have trouble with. After doing a lot of research I’m buying a new motor and I’m going with Minn kota. One other little thing I can’t stand to hear is that R2D2 noise the Lowrance makes when turning.

There is much bigger differences than presented. The close loop pid is going to be much more advanced.

Well, thank you for the video!! I just bought my Terrova and will get it installed in the next few days. I'm pretty excited about this, but I am not sure, at the age of 65, I'll get all of that tech stuff going. I wish I could have found one that was a few years older and saved some money, but this is what Bass Pro Shops has so I got it. I know that I will LOVE Auto Pilot because I had a Minn Kota in the mid 90's that had Auto Pilot. The main reason that I wanted to get this motor is the Auto Pilot. After reading and seeing some others, I am excited about the Spot Lock. That will be very useful for me as well. After I get it installed, I'll head down to my "watering hole" and start trying to learn. It will be a challenge, but I hope that I'll be able to use it to the fullest. Thanks.

I would encourage all owners to pay particular attention to the area where the foot pedal sits in a recessed position on the front deck! My Lund Renegade had 1 drain hole, and it got clogged and the pedal was sitting in a couple inches of water. I cleared the drain hole, but ADDED 2 more to prevent future foot pedal baths LOL. I can't think of anything worse for electronics then sitting in water!

I looked at the Garmin owners manual, and the picture of the GPS wire routing at the base was, uh ... not clear to say the least. Your instructions were clear, concise, and the video was done in a well lit area. THANK YOU.

My husband hit the down button and didn't know how to stop it and it deployed on concrete will that hurt it? It now sounds like the cables came undone and won't retract. Help!!

One thing I;d like to point out is shaft length on the instinct, the steering and trim motors are so big, it requires going up one size in shaft length for your waterline, the minn kota website doesn't address this problem yet.

does this give you the auto drift feature?

So my talon will deploy but the spike won’t retract. It beeps 3 times and stops. The talon is making noise as if it’s trying but the spike stays. I can easily slide it up and down by hand. Any help?
