Very informative video on how to link any garmin unit with the garmin force. Im planning on getting the garmin force at the end of next year for my boat
Nice to know. Updating through Active Captain has been a bit of a challenge if you're using an Apple phone. Garmin has been great about sending me update chips at no charge...now, I understand they may have corrected the glitch that was causing the update issues.
I really appreciate all your help and information with the Garmin product. I am switching to Garmin products because of your videos because you make it so easy to understand thank you so much. I am looking at getting my trolling motor now saving up for that😁
So I have a force with two Echomap Plus units. They are networked together and they both can control the trolling motor. I cannot figure out how to make the trolling motor take me to a waypoint on the Echomaps. I know I can select a waypoint on the remote, but it seems stupid to integrate the Force with the Echomaps if I can’t use the map to point and go! That overlay is purely a novelty, since I have an awesome foot pedal and an awesome remote for the trolling motor.
Is the image quality of ClearVu and SideVu transmitted wirelessly to a plotter as good as it would be hardwired over the 12pin directly into the back of the plotter?
I'm trying to connect my Garmin Force trolling motor to my GPSMAP 1242XSV unit and it want connect. What should I try. Done what you showed on the video.
Josh we had talked about returning that livesight transducer that sucks I purchased it from you and it does suck . You have an upgrade program. What can you do for me I have a Lowrance hds7 live, a 3in1 active scan transducer and that infamous livesight transducer please help! I would like to upgrade to lvs32 with 1022 those units are compatible?
From what I understand, Minn Kota / Humminbird have a patent on following contours. The Force should be able to follow a route. I’ll find out soon after I install mine.
If you link the TM to the bow graph, are you able to also control it from your steering graph as well (over the Garmin network)? The instructions talk about selecting a "host" graph to link the TM to, and only one. So does it matter which one you choose to be the host? If so, which is the better choice?
Rob Brookby to answer your question, yes. Both of my Garmin units have the trolling motor bar and can control the Force because they are linked using the Ethernet cable. Garmin has done a good job of bridge networks to make sure all your devices are on the “marine” network.
Just paired my Force to my 8412xsv. When I press the left/right steer icons on screen, the head moves INCREDIBLY SLOW. Like, absolutely useless slow. Is this normal?
Hey everyone! We purchased the Garmin Force trolling motor and 2 Garmin Echomap Ultra 126sv units. We have one on the console connected to a transducer that looks straight off back of boat and one unit at the bow to be used with the trolling motor. Console unit actually shows the Panoptix view icon, but the unit at the bow does not. Is it because I still need to run a cable from the trolling motor, black box then back to unit? If so, I need an extension so which one do I purchase? Any suggestions are most appreciated. Thanks!
how do you read the downscan imaging mounting it on the trolling motor up front? Its installed the other way compare to the one in the back? Do i see up in front of me? If so, am I reading the graph from left(back) to right(front)?? I'm confused
The orientation of a DI or 2D transducer doesn't matter since it shoots a circular cone. Only SI transducers are orientation specific and even then you can flip left and right in the settings if you need to mount it backwards.
@bertram davies Thats good to hear because I just bought the spring deal at cabela's the older version 93sv non UHD and was hoping the old 93sv links to the Garmin force. Do you know if it can be hook up wired or wireless? I really want to use the spot lock feature with the old 93sv
Mine doesn't connect. I get the blue dot to show up. I hit start. It instantly goes green. I have to triple hit it again. And then it doesn't connect.. Times out.
I thought this was the case until I gave it some time to connect and then it did. I have 2 chartplottoers so occasionally it connects to the other one and it will not connect to both
I have a question I am planning on going all Garmin . Trolling motor as well as 106 sv echo ultra and A 93 sv uhd also. Panotics and live scope know . I know the garmin force has a trans ducer built in can u tell me beside the live scope stuff . What else I need to get to get everything working Please and thank u

*I used it, I was amazed, **enjoyable.fishing** recommend The color screen really lights up. For such a small unit it is very easy to read.*

We have two boats that we interchange graphs on. Can I link both trolling motors to the Force on the bass boat and the Kraken on the pontoon boat?
Thank you , regards from Ireland

Will the "Active Captain" app work with (2) 126sv units on the same boat to keep both updated?
Would love to see how the force works with things like auto pilot, following contours, etc via the unit.
It will not follow contours. I called Garmin and asked that same question.
From what I understand, Minn Kota / Humminbird have a patent on following contours. The Force should be able to follow a route. I’ll find out soon after I install mine.
@@scottschroeder9050but it will follow routes same thing
Does the transducer on the trolling motor connect wirelessly to the graph also or just the trolling motor functions? Thanks
Did you get an answer to this?
@@tylerwood5130 I bought the Force last March. The built in transducer can only be hard wired. The foot pedal is hard wired or cable-less.
The transducer for the trolling connects wirelessly to any of the echomap units.

Can I network two Echo map chart plotters with My Force without a switch or hub?
Gotta love that one boat network!
So this won’t link to the echo map 126sv? Must be the ultra?
Same process on the 93 uhd? Completely wireless?

Hey, Jordan. I would contact our Garmin specialist at Tanner@russellmarineproducts.com

Im assuming this isnt an option on the echomap plus 93sv?
According to Garmin it is with software update 9.20 and above.
Changes made from version 8.40 to 9.20:
Added support for Garmin Trolling Motor.
@bertram davies how do you like the wireless remote
@bertram davies NON UHD model or UHD?

Does the 93sv touchscreen non UHD link with the Garmin Force wired or wireless?
This is the question I was going to ask. Have you received and answer yet?
@@noblebassin2428 yea it links to it wireless bluetooth

I know this was done on the 126sv, is it done the same way on the 122?
Mine won’t show the trolling motor half of the time on graf. I tried restarting
I have the same issue. did you figure this out?
@@GIT_Real not sure, I think it kinda fixed itself. I do the updates when they have a new one out and so maybe one of the updates fixed it. Good luck
