Thanks for this extensive overview. I love your history series in general. Keep it up! As for Crysis. I remember that game like it was yesterday. Truly a game pushed boundaries. I have replayed it again several times throughout the years whenever I get a new PC and it's still fun. In my book that's what makes a masterpiece.

All 3 Games hold a special place in my heart. I think Crysis 3 was the peak of the Franchise while also throwing Crytek down a hill. The first Crysis still has that Classic Shooter feeling and I understand why for some people it's the best. Personally Crysis 2 is my favorite though because it introduced me to the Franchise and it felt extremely futuristic.
And here's a testament to the graphical requirements of the OG Crysis. In 2016 I bought a Gigabyte G1 Gaming Edition GTX 970. It was the first GPU I owed that could play Crysis at 1080p with all graphics settings maxed out and still hit fluid and smooth framerates. Crysis was released in 2007. The GTX 970 was 2014. That's 7 years of GPUs that, while at some level at least, could play Crysis but could struggle with the higher settings. Only the highest, beefiest enthusiast level of GPUs could max out Crysis but even those cards would sweat a bit. Even iGPUs of today would still struggle to play Crysis maxes out. But still what a beautiful game Crysis is. After finding out what happened to Jester, taking out a handful of KPA patrols, then cresting over a hill overlooking your first KPA FOB just at the sun rises, day breaks and the god rays stream through the tree leaves. I always had more fun fighting the KPA than I did the aliens. I loved the part where you faced off I think either 3 or 4 KPA soldiers with their 99 Cent store nanosuits and having an intense cat and mouse game with them as you tried to out-stealth each other. Crysis 2 & 3 weren't too bad, but they just didn't feel like a true Crysis to me. The bow you got in 3 was cool and all, but nothing beat the having the assault rifle in Crysis 1 but with the silencer and sniper scope mods attached. With the flick of a switch you could have a semi-automatic silenced sniper rifle, but if the fight got too close to you suddenly you have a fully automatic lead spitter without changing weapon.

Imagine console gamers being excited to play this at E3 in 2006 🤣😂. This is what happens if you don't think about developing for the console. Sadly it's why we may not see a game quite like this ever again. Amazing how good it still looks 16 years later.
I was a console player at that time so I could not play the first game but Crysis 2 and 3 are some of my favorite games of all time (well mainly the third) and the first game I played on PS3. I am really hyped for the remaster of the first game and finally I will be able to play it. But btw really great video.
Nothing can compare to jumping out of the plane in Crysis 1 and seeing the map you’ll explore below. Fun fact: if you swim from the starting location around to the first enemy checkpoint (diving in the water to avoid the enemy ship missiles) You’ll skip Aztec’s death custscene and skip the sunrise from triggering, allowing the first mission to be played at night indefinately.)
The character was removed from the arch through a lazy comic retcon - along with Nomad. Crytek later retconned the story again by hinting at Nomad's return. They just bailed on the original cast of characters and held onto Prophet for the sequel (and Strickland's daughter)
One of the most impressive game atmospheres that you never see in any other game in my opinion crysis was incredibly ahead of it's time with it's high quality and game design to the story it's was just perfect in it's way
For a 13 year old game, it still plays well. I played out Farcry and Crysis, both games where cutting edge at the time. But the computers had to upgraded every time.
CRYTEK studio did miracles, one of the best shooters ever. Both Far Cry / Crysis had perfect sandbox style enviroment’s, spent hours and hours just exploring before moving forward
What players of today might not realize is the fast pace of hardware improvements back in those days. We were upgrading our PCs almost yearly - if you could afford it- as new graphic cards, CPU and mainboards for more RAM were silly expensive at release. After a while you simply had to skip a couple of generations, unless you were prepared to pay up for the newest toys. So I for instance didn't play Crysis, as I just couldn't afford a machine that was strong enough to run it. Besides; WoW was released that year and we all pretty much hung out there :)
@Crysis tanked my @Alienware bank in the day. Love this series and I still hope to see something in the future from this IP. Come on @Crytek and @EA put something together. Thanks @Nick930 for another great video!
turned out to be a good remake overall. once the patches got out for original crysis. playing the last game right now. waited for my 3080ti to play the remake series. back in the day we had lan parties and me and a friend used 32" samsung tv at 1080p. i used dual 8800gtx sli at the time and my friend used one of the GTX 2xx series. a lot of lan buddies got to play crysis on our machines and now i am back to a tv the lg cx 48" for the remake. life is good, sadly no local lan parties.
I agree on most of what's reviewed here, good video :] really glad the multiplayer of Crysis 1 was also talked about, the Power Struggle game mode is my best first person shooter experience overall and i still go back to play it on the private servers fairly often, i even liked the story a lot, i'd say my second favorite game

Its still funny how back in like 2010 or whatever this was the ultimate benchmark game to see how good your PC was. Game is way ahead of its time
I think people should send money to help a company develop the game instead of pushing for it and not getting what they thought that it was.
I played Crysis 2 and 3. Never got to play 1.
All parts of Crysis are very good. Two months ago I played the old Crysis again after all the years in the Remastered Version on a high end pc and monitor with high resolution and it was big fun.
Crisis is a game that has MAXIMUM Strength,MAXIMUM Armor, MAXIMUM Speed and MAXIMUM Cloak.CRYSIS is a MAXIMUM game where you have to be at the MAXIMUM of your play at MAXIMUM difficulty.
I just unsubscribed all the other gaming discussion and comparison channels after Watching this,

Crysis 2 with MaldoHD v4 mod still looks amazing.
Your videos are the best and never boring, with interesting knowledge!

Amazing as always!!!
I'm waiting a history of Nick930 channel
Thanks for the vid Nick!
Imagine console gamers being excited to play this at E3 in 2006 🤣😂.
This is what happens if you don't think about developing for the console. Sadly it's why we may not see a game quite like this ever again. Amazing how good it still looks 16 years later.
43:20 Nick on 7th Of August there is also the release date of Deep Horizon Dawn for PC
I was a console player at that time so I could not play the first game but Crysis 2 and 3 are some of my favorite games of all time (well mainly the third) and the first game I played on PS3. I am really hyped for the remaster of the first game and finally I will be able to play it. But btw really great video.
the Best content creator on RUclips. Love you bro.
not a word about the AMAZING soundtracks and generally the audio of this series??
(great video but this is seriously missing in my opinion)
Im very hyped for the remake of the first one! This is my favorite game series
crysis 1 and warhead was amazing. i was a Pro Player for year’s rank 1# in the world.
Crysis 2 is my first Crysis game on the PC. The gameplay is what get me. The story was grounded. Hope they remaster all in the future.
Crysis 2 is my favorite game of all time. This video really brought back the memories...
Oh man, the goose bumps when I heard the Far Cry 1 menu soundtrack... brings back memories
Crysis has a special place in my heart for being one of the first games that got me into PC gaming in 2009.
Helena Rosenthal wasn’t removed so to speak, was killed when she Nomad & Sycho went back to Lingshan Island to rescue Prophet at the end of Crysis 1.
The character was removed from the arch through a lazy comic retcon - along with Nomad.
Crytek later retconned the story again by hinting at Nomad's return. They just bailed on the original cast of characters and held onto Prophet for the sequel (and Strickland's daughter)
@@Nick930 nomad did survive he wad suposed to have a dlc in c3 but it never happened.
One of the most impressive game atmospheres that you never see in any other game in my opinion crysis was incredibly ahead of it's time with it's high quality and game design to the story it's was just perfect in it's way
I really like the name, Crysis, just rolls off the tongue really well
thanks for your work!
Crysis and cryengine symbolizes what we can achieve through physics and technology
For a 13 year old game, it still plays well.
I played out Farcry and Crysis, both games where cutting edge at the time.
But the computers had to upgraded every time.
Great Video 👍
CRYTEK studio did miracles, one of the best shooters ever. Both Far Cry / Crysis had perfect sandbox style enviroment’s, spent hours and hours just exploring before moving forward
I guess at least the Crytek team made It to Tahiti.
this guy needs more subs
What players of today might not realize is the fast pace of hardware improvements back in those days. We were upgrading our PCs almost yearly - if you could afford it- as new graphic cards, CPU and mainboards for more RAM were silly expensive at release. After a while you simply had to skip a couple of generations, unless you were prepared to pay up for the newest toys. So I for instance didn't play Crysis, as I just couldn't afford a machine that was strong enough to run it. Besides; WoW was released that year and we all pretty much hung out there :)
WoW released in 2004
@Crysis tanked my @Alienware bank in the day.
