I'm not new to mixed media and canvases but I always like "reviewing" with those who "get to the point". I really appreciate your teaching style and did learn something new today!!
I don't know why, but from the very first moment that I started watching this video, I felt so happy I found it! And I am watching scrap booking videos for months! I think, you can feel that Ingrid really loves what she is doing. I can feel that positive energy. And, I am leaving a feedback once-twice a years. :-)
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! This project was so fun to make. I started in scrapbooking decades ago! I love your channel name. I'm from San Francisco originally. :) Thanks for watching. 😘😀🎨
I have to tell you that this video answered many of my problems - thank you so much for sharing this great information - especially about the glazing liquid on the gel plate!!!
First I love your opening comments that you hope your videos inspire and that we learn something! That is exactly what I did. Mainly inspired me. I made junk journals but love to make mixed media prints for family and friends OR covers for my journals, and this video did just that. Plus, your direction is clear and concise. I don't understand why anyone would give you a thumbs down. Thank you Ingrid!
I have a craft room and give classes. In regard to foil I teach them that the "Grey is the Glue side" makes it easy for them to remember . Love this video
I love the quickness of this video...................sorry to say that a lot of others take just too long. (Most of us don't need the complete steps to do a project). If you're new to more detail is just right for them. Thank you.
So glad you enjoyed it. I totally get that Barbara. I'm with you. I try to give what's necessary. I have real time way more in depth content on my Patron page for those interested. Thanks for the feedback, it's incredibly helpful for me. Thanks for watching!! 😁😁🎨
Thanks for sharing. Have always wanted to try foil. What is the name of the type of foil you use please ? Still have to figure out how to use it once I buy some.
Thank you for sharing this with such a variety of techniques and media that truly encourages me to "think outside the box", plus use up from so much of what I already have on hand. It ends up with such an endearing finish. I can't wait to experiment for myself. Bless you!
I love your work but as a beginner, I am overwhelmed at the amount of different supplies required to do one project. Maybe one day, I'll be ready! Thank you for sharing your work!
I know that overwhelm. Consider starting with just a few supplies. Learn to create minimally, then add as you go. The key is to start. You'd be surprised with what you can do with just a few supplies.
What a fun project and great tutorial! I came over from your Simple Ways to Improve your Project Design video and I am loving all the inspiration! It's making me want to get inky! :D
I want to try mixed media, and found your video lesson very informative. Thank you for posting this lesson for us newbies, to get an idea of what supplies we need and how to get started.
I'm so glad you found it valuable! I find mixed media relaxing. Each project is a little journey. Don't worry about the end result just keep at it, and before you know it your piece is a little work of art. It'll go through many stages. Enjoy it! 😁😁🎨
Hey honey 💗❣️💖 you have done an awesome job...I...have loved your artwork and it has inspired me. This small piece of canvas looks amazing 😍. A big thank you for sharing your goodness and art idea. Cheers I am gonna watch it again..
This is definitely my favourite kind of crafting, if you haven't got glitter, paint or glue on your hands by teatime your doing something wrong...🤭... Your piece is beautiful, its always great to see the progression of someone's art creation, it helps to understand that sometimes it might look like a hot mess in the beginning but if you wait for the ending you'll see that it always comes together and looks amazing, just trust the process... Your channel was suggested by "Justine Hovey" and I'm really glad she did, I have subscribed to your channel and I look forward to seeing lots more of your videos... I'm sooo happy to be getting back into crafting, and watching channels such as yours is filling me with inspiration... Take care and stay safe my lovely... 💫😷✏👩🏼🎨🖌😷💫
Thank you so much! That's the beauty of RUclips - content is evergreen and doesn't fall into the abyss...lol. What specifically about the process stuck out to you most? Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I appreciate it! 🎨😁 ❤️
@@IngridBlackburn Thanks for responding! I love the way you talk to us! I feel as if I'm sitting in front of you crafting along. You explain really well! As for the artwork itself, I really just like all the layers and textures. I also love seeing how different mediums are used and the final outcome is beautiful. Subscribed!(actually thought I already had🙈) 💞
Thank you so much! This is the best art video I have ever watched. I have almost all of those supplies but I didn’t know how to use them properly or at all. I can’t wait to try these techniques on my assemblage boxes. Also, your talking speed was perfect! I didn’t have to speed up the video for once. I’m subscribing😀
Hi...it for sure would be pricey if you were starting with absolutely zero of these supplies from any other craft/art hobbies and were only going to make one piece of art with those supplies. I think most, or at least a lot of mixed media folks come from other disciplines, though, where you build up supplies gradually over the years. For example, I'm from the card-making universe and I dabble slightly with acrylic and watercolour painting. So I had ink pads and refills, paint brushes, a brayer, texture paste, stencils, and most of the other stuff before I started experimenting with mixed media outside of card making. I built those supplies up over 20 years. So, the only things I have bought specifically for this is a mixed media book ($12 or $14 at Michael's) and some water soluble pencils. Oh...and last week I added some Tim Holtz collage paper to my MM stash. So that's 3 new things in the past about 8 months. AND because I can use all of these things across disciplines, I'll get even more use out of them. But again, you are right that if you're starting from a completely blank slate for supplies, it can be pricey. There are videos about the absolute basics, though. Those might be helpful?
Hey Your artwork is truly mesmerizing and especially calming & fun to look at.I am from India and really hope if we were to get all of these products in here too..so i could try my hand at something like this too...Anyways keep going & inspiring!!
Hi I’m so excited I’ve just uploaded my first two , Utube videos, ...Hand Craft a magical life, .. I was so inspired by you’re energy and multi skills with art and crafts , thanks for you’re great personality.. x
The texture paste is water-based and so is the ink so they for sure play well together. But you can experiment with paints, to see how that goes. I'm new to mixed media, but from the videos I've watched it seems to be heavy on "try it and see" (on practice paper, if it's something you're really unsure about) and "use what's around you". Which can be either liberating or paralyzing. LoL
Great questions Lisa! You know, I've never added paint to paste, always ink...cause it's water based. Only way to know would be to try, experiments can be fun. When monoprinting with a gel plate, and taking quick pulls...a ghost print is usually the 2nd or 3rd print left behind from a pull on the gel plate. They usually have a lightness to them since the first pull gave to most color, giving it a ghostly quality. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. 😁😁🎨

The Art Happens is a stencil? So do you fussy cut it then?
The gelatos can act as an adhesive to the embossing powder?
Yes they did. They are tacky when you first put them down until set, so the EP stuck to it! :)
Me encantó, gracias!
Beautiful! I love all the detail and especially the gold burnishing👍❤
Love this!
Is the deli paper waxed or unwaxed. Beautiful work. Thanks
What is a gel plate? Also, what's the deli paper from?

This is super cool it that's a LOT of different products. Simple is a strong word when this is over $100 in tools and mediums.

Hi Ingrid! Is distress oxide a stamping ink? or is it a pigment powder? thanks!

Can you use tissue paper in place of deli paper?
You sure can! It's not as sturdy (can tear more easily), but works just as well. Thanks for watching Tina. 😍
