Fabulous. I'm a real texture junkie so this is right up my street! One of my favourite things to use is the leaflets from packs of medication tablets. They come already accordion folded. Without unfolding them, I punch them with 2 sizes of holes with my Crop-a-Dile and then unfold them. They tear really well along the perforated lines. I lay the piece flat on another piece of paper and spray ink to colour them, or use acrylic paint - often the printing will still show through which adds interest. You end up with the painted piece, and also the underneath piece which has been stencilled. Sometimes I use a tiny single strip of this, tearing along two adjacent lines of holes and it looks almost like seaweed.
Another absolute favourite texture, which you can also use to stencil with as you colour it, is paper mesh used for packaging. This is brown paper with little slits cut in it, and when you pull it, it opens up and gives a gorgeous scrunchy bulky texture. I've also used this to press down onto the gel plate. It looks great with gilding wax rubbed on, or dry painting, etc.
Most of my mixed media/collage pages feature these two materials - free and fabulous!
Like you, I adore corrugated cardboard too. When you pull off the paper layer, bits are sometimes left stuck on it and these add fabulous texture.
PS New subscriber! Your work is great.

I think using cheap jewelry could be fun. Jewelry that is silver plated or copper. It is inexpensive and comes in so many different styles, shapes, and textures. Your video inspired me. I am new to mixed media painting. I am in my second quarter of painting in college. I don't draw well, but I think this style of art will be easier for me. I loved the video!!!

What fun. So many things can be used that we never imagined. Now I'm looking at everything unused as an embellishment. Thanks for sharing.

Some great tips here, thankyou. I also use old nails/screws, a cheap fancy fan, the paper handle from a paper bag (you can unwind it and use for texture spread out), cheap jewellery, zips, etc from an opshop, raid the 1st aid kit for bandages etc, great for texture. Pretty much anything I pick up I look at with intent haha

These are great! I've used them all except the food items. I also use rolled paper tubes in place of sticks that way you can vary they're length and thickness easily. For cloth textures, I often use gauze pads or cheesecloth pieces in the background as well as crumpled papers. Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to seeing more of this!

Thank you! Yes, I've used rolled paper and cheese cloth as well. They're easy to use and create very nice texture!

We are eating a lot of corn on the cob lately and I know the corn husks (the green part you peel off) get dry and brown and sorta paper-like if left outside to dry out. I think if they were cut into smaller pieces and laid flat to dry, they'd be a nice background. texture.
