If you think about it, the witcher 3 was never about Geralt, because his hero’s journey was told in the books and the preceding games; Ciri was the Arthurian legend the ballad would remember, and you the player didn’t play as the traditional ‘chosen one’ character, but rather the person who influences and builds the girl into the legend.

God this game is so incredible! I have no idea how CDPR managed to produce this amount of hand crafted content, while delivering a compelling story with fantastic characters that you could enjoy at your own pace in a massive open world. I love the use of both the voices to both switch between Geralt and Ciri's perspective, and to harmonize, to show tghem working together. The bits of symbolism like that in the songs are part of why this channel is amazing.

No words to explain how good this is. Captures the essence of the Witcher 3 so well. Watching this after playing the game is an over flow of emotion. Had to fight pretty hard to keep the manly tears back.
Damn, fighting as Ciri was one of the coolest things in Witcher 3. I wish there was a way to obtain that Teleport Spam skill for Geralt. Alas, that would make no sense lore-wise :P I wonder, did Gavin read the books? Ciri becomes even more interesting in the game when one knows what kind of character she was before.
Kazmistrz1993 I agree that the most fun I had in The Witcher 3 I had while fighting as Ciri. It wasn't as complex as Geralt's fighting, so it was the right call to limit the time of the sections, but the faster, lighter combat really appealed to me. Dodge roll is great, a staple of any character action game, but blink will always be more fun.

And you can't forget she was friends with unicorns and was supposed to be mother of wild hunt next king, who knows maybe if they would have viagra in this world she could have been Aen Elle queen.
Kazmistrz1993 I kind of hated that she sopped the white frost - for book-Ciri it was an integral part of her character arc that she decided she cared about her personal happiness more than her duties of birth, and so for her to stop the white frost undoes that arc.
aNerdNamedJames Honestly, I just pretend that the books and the games are separate entities. The games aren't bad, but there is the mild issue of their storyline blatantly contradicting the established stories. That being said, I wouldn't say that she cared about personal happiness more than her destiny - at the end, she almost seemed to accept it before asking for time. and considering that she can jump through time, it's potentially possible that she does eventually find the maturity and selflessness to come back and face fate.
+RedgraveGilver Worst things have happened in the Witcher. They just showed how it touched Ciri emotionally. Geralt does have emotion, or he just doesn't show it much. So the tragedy that happened to Skjall was emphasized through that.
Imagine if Ciri came to our world. She did allude to something like that when Geralt found her in that cabin. "People there had metal in their heads, waged war from a distance, using things similar to megascope. There were no horses, everyone had their own flying ship". Granted we don't have personal flyers yet. As if she came to a world similar to our own just slightly more advanced.

mikkelmv3991 Honestly, she is too amazing to give her too much screen time before it gets stale. The whole point of of her getting chased is becomes of the immense powers she wields and they give you a couple times the chance to try them out to show it's not just words. However if you make it too long, it will either get boring fast since you are a monster or they make it harder which lessens the whole idea of her being well...the most powerful being in the witcher universe.
Gavin, your talent is astonishing! Whenever I think "That's it - that's gotta be the best he'll ever do", you just keep raising the bar further! I was trying to figure out through the entire song, if it was Lorna singing. A shame there probably won't be anymore Elizabeth-themed songs, I always loved her part in the Bioshock-songs! But Ailin did fantastic as well on this - Ciris Song is going straight to repeat for me the next couple of weeks! :D

God this game is so incredible! I have no idea how CDPR managed to produce this amount of hand crafted content, while delivering a compelling story with fantastic characters that you could enjoy at your own pace in a massive open world. In my opinion they really blew every other company out of the water with this one. My favorite game of all time by far!

I love the use of both the voices to both switch between Geralt and Ciri's perspective, and to harmonize, to show tghem working together. The bits of symbolism like that in the songs are part of why this channel is amazing.
Gavin, Thank you so much. Ciri and Geralt are two of my favorite characters of all time in fiction. I love them since many years, since my first time reading the books and playing the later games. You gave each of them a perfect musical tribute and it means a lot to me man. Seriously, you are amazing.
This is still the best song in your discography, with Sovngarde Song as a close second. Its lyrics are constantly shifting, even the chorus is always slightly different, and the way the music itself flows with the voice work is absolutely gorgeous.
This is by far the best performance by a female vocalist I've heard in a very, very long time. I've heard this song dozens of times, and it's goosebumps, close to tears, every time. Amazing, amazing voice and an awesome song. Indeed, a miracle of sound if there ever was one. I bow to you, master bard.

No words to explain how good this is. Captures the essence of the Witcher 3 so well. Watching this after playing the game is an over flow of emotion. Had to fight pretty hard to keep the manly tears back.
Damn, fighting as Ciri was one of the coolest things in Witcher 3. I wish there was a way to obtain that Teleport Spam skill for Geralt. Alas, that would make no sense lore-wise :P
I wonder, did Gavin read the books? Ciri becomes even more interesting in the game when one knows what kind of character she was before.
Kazmistrz1993 I agree that the most fun I had in The Witcher 3 I had while fighting as Ciri. It wasn't as complex as Geralt's fighting, so it was the right call to limit the time of the sections, but the faster, lighter combat really appealed to me. Dodge roll is great, a staple of any character action game, but blink will always be more fun.
Kazmistrz1993 Ciri is amazing, from a princess to a witcher to a fisstech snorting lesbian bandit, to a slave, to a time and cross dimension traveler, pretty fucking badass. And you can't forget she was friends with unicorns and was supposed to be mother of wild hunt next king, who knows maybe if they would have viagra in this world she could have been Aen Elle queen.
Kazmistrz1993 I kind of hated that she sopped the white frost - for book-Ciri it was an integral part of her character arc that she decided she cared about her personal happiness more than her duties of birth, and so for her to stop the white frost undoes that arc.
aNerdNamedJames Honestly, I just pretend that the books and the games are separate entities. The games aren't bad, but there is the mild issue of their storyline blatantly contradicting the established stories. That being said, I wouldn't say that she cared about personal happiness more than her destiny - at the end, she almost seemed to accept it before asking for time. and considering that she can jump through time, it's potentially possible that she does eventually find the maturity and selflessness to come back and face fate.

"People there had metal in their heads, waged war from a distance, using things similar to megascope. There were no horses, everyone had their own flying ship". Granted we don't have personal flyers yet. As if she came to a world similar to our own just slightly more advanced.

Honestly, she is too amazing to give her too much screen time before it gets stale. The whole point of of her getting chased is becomes of the immense powers she wields and they give you a couple times the chance to try them out to show it's not just words. However if you make it too long, it will either get boring fast since you are a monster or they make it harder which lessens the whole idea of her being well...the most powerful being in the witcher universe.

I was trying to figure out through the entire song, if it was Lorna singing. A shame there probably won't be anymore Elizabeth-themed songs, I always loved her part in the Bioshock-songs! But Ailin did fantastic as well on this - Ciris Song is going straight to repeat for me the next couple of weeks! :D

Just finished playing all the witcher games. When this song first dropped I thought it sounded amazing. Now that I understand the characters and story, years later it hits different. It’s more impactful now
