They were broke when they made this album. They did not blow up until after the lead singer died.
That's not true lol they were already very popular before Bradley Nowell died. They were headlining the vanz warped tour (which was a big thing at the time) and even did a song with Gwen Stefani before Bradley passed.

Bradley Nowell was both the guitarist and lead singer of the band. Unfortunately, he was a heroin addict, which is why he'd pawn his guitar off -- so he could get heroin money to get his fix. Drugs are bad, mmkay? He died of a heroin overdose 2 months before this album, Sublime's major-label debut, was released. The album ended up going 5x platinum and he wasn't around to see any of it.
Yea it def a tragic story.. Sublime is one of those bands that didnt get huge till after he died... I mean tbey were huge in Cali for a couple years before he died but after that they were known world wide and its shitty he wasnt here to see it and even more sad his daughter didnt get to see her dad have that pride of knowing he blew up smh #RIPBRADLEY

Homie OD’ed right b4 this album their 2nd came out. This the album that put them on the map nationally. So Brad Nowell the lead singer didnt see the success. But imagine the other band members. Album blowing up & it’s over b4 it began. What could of been. Caress Me down, he spits in Spanish too

Sublime was a club band until 1996, when Sublime, Sublime dropped. The singer Brad died from an overdose before he ever got to see any money!
The Guitar work on this song is perfection. Brad's guitar was sooo grimey!

This was part of the soundtrack to my teenage years in the 90's. I can't tell you how much pot I've seen smoked with this band playing in the background. Sublime had a really genuine and unique vibe. It was just mellow, feed good, all-inclusive, and earnest music with a California vibe dripping all over it. Black, brown, white, poor, wealthy - everyone could get together, smoke a joint, and bug out to Sublime.

@@RudeLifeX I hear huskies need to be active and go outside a lot. That’s what truly keeps me from getting one. I am an inside person and my yard isn’t nearly big enough for a proper puppy playground. It works for my golden doodles (Golden retriever x poodle mix) but a husky needs wide open space, right? Plus, a heavy coat like that in Florida would be hot for the dog, unless i’m overthinking it.

When you're poor you don't really have shit that's worth anything, the pawn shop guy will probably only give you money for the one thing in your possession that is actually worth shit, also the thing that means the most to you. That one little rare thing you have, that special thing, that's the only thing the pawn shop guy will give you cash for. If it's groceries, rent, a high, it's your flesh and bone you part with for a little while, till you get it back, so you can pawn it again next time.
