    The best mask I made . I first made a plaster cast of my head and the head of who ever else wanted a mask. We than formed the leather to the plaster cast. This made each mask custom to each person in my family it work amazingly and was a great family project.

    • @garetkonigsfeld2
      @garetkonigsfeld2 4 года назад

      @@ezequielromero6275 we spray our faces with pam cooking spray and than just used plaster of Paris the hardest part was the nose. Some people put straws in their nose but I didnt like that. So i left opening around each nastrail and filled the holes in after i took the cast off. Make sure you really get you eye lashes and eye brows really well grease or oiled because the plaster sticks to them. I pulled most mine out on the learning curve lol. If was fun good luck.

    I just use a heat gun or strap the leather to a plastic face I found in a craft store, to form and dry . Faster than the stove, I believe. Oh, the edger is also known as a beveler and looks very professional if you bevel each side and then burnish the edges.

    I've watched this video a few times now. . 7 times actally. The video is long but it's necessary to show beginning to end diys. The process. So thank you for having a kind soft voice for us to listen to whole we soak in the lesson. I didn't have a stencil or template, no printer to print one, top lazy to find a copy machine, so I measured by eye the size of yur hands in comparison to the mask and the width of my face I ended up drawing templates of my own, just by watching your diy. I found an old leather jacket that I wasn't going to wear from the 80s I swear it's kinda hidious but I knew it was real leather, it even has the lining that I am going to add back on to the pieces I cut from the jacket so it is soft against the face right? Lol. Any way I am going go attempt 2 masks right now have the pieces cut out and awaiting my detail lines before I can start shaping. I'm excited. Thanks again this is a great video you're so soft spoken and a great artist. Do you ever get that rush of feelings almost like giddiness when a project turns bad ass? I sure do. I love it, I'm addicted to art. I admit I have an art problem. I spread this addiction to my friends who now get the art itch.. "MUST.. DO.. ART.. BLAHHH.!"

    Not so sure about the spray paint on something you are going to wear where you breathe. Checked any of the ingredients or inhalation warnings on those paints? I hand paint everything using Liquitex artist latex paints (certified non-toxic and water soluble), with a layer of gesso underneath, which acts to stiffen the leather substantially while maintaining flexibility because it's still a latex. Great pattern and concept! I'm off to give it a try.
