i do love that even though loki solves most of the problems he is still hated because he causes most of them in the first place
To be quite frank, most of the stories seem to have Odin as the main deciever of others. Loki gets a worse rap than hes owed imo
@@ConnorRunda He did cause ragnarok though, I think most hate is warranted
Well yea it makes sense honestly. You fuck it you gotta fix it
@@jakesimpson3373
well Odin tossed his chid in to ocean
@@AmirDarkOne would they have their powers or thier motive to kill the Gods if they were raised with the gods instead of trying to get rid of loki's children
Loki really is just that main character in the sitcom who just causes absolute chaos and has to go out of his way to fix it while also hurting himself in the process.
This is a perfect description lmao.
*Loki kills baldr*
"Oh loki." *laugh track plays*
@@projekttaku1 while one of his sons killed the other son and force to watch it happened
@@lkcdarzadix6216 "What are we going to do with you?"
The gods stories kinda were their sitcoms when u think about. Not surprising they resemble the same sort of formulae for entertainment
"Yeah, next time someone treatens your life, try dying" a quote for the ages
This is hilarious. Props to you for redrawing all the old gods
Loki is legit the comedic relief of norse mythology.
There’s a point where you know you’re a good RUclipsr when someone makes a bot trying to be you
2:19 I just love how they keep pulling guns out on Loki🤣
All of it is hilarious Moki alwaysHeld at gunpoint
I just love how Loki casually forgets they can shapeshift into a fly and thus Thjazi's threat is technically quite empty. Talking about turning into flying animals, why does Loki never turn into a regular ol' bird to travel long distances and keeps borrowing Freya's coat instead?
I wanted to know why
Ok I just didn’t turn into a bird when Thjazi threatened to drop him. It would have prevented a whole lot of mess, but then again, we wouldn’t get to see Lokis junk get tied to a goat
Mythological plot holes. When you're talking about omnipotent eternal beings and your main source is a single parchment that's half torn apart it's quite difficult to avoid them.
Rules of transformation in Norse mythology are very slippery, probably because the old Norse people consisted of a lot of different tribes/clans/villages/whatever who all interpreted their mythology in their own ways. Loki shapeshifts most often and often seems to be able to do it whenever he wants. He turned into a salmon to hide from the Æsir after killing Baldr, turned into a horse to "distract" another horse from his work on Asgard's wall, and he fought Heimdall while they were both in the form of seals. That's just a few examples. But other gods seem to be able to do it as well, even though they don't do it often. Like I said, Heimdall turned into a seal to fight Loki. But then for some unknown reason Freyja really needs that cloak of hers to transform into an eagle. Maybe there's different rules for different types of animals, or maybe all transformations require special items but we just don't have any sources stating it. The sad truth is we'll probably never find out because so much of Norse culture was destroyed during the christianisation of Europe. Vikings didn't even write much down to begin with.
The coat looks cool
@@cancerguy5435 Norse gods more than most aren't characterized as particularly omnipotent. For example this story centers on the fact that the only reason they are immortal is because of a specific resource they consume that keeps them youthful, and it is generally depicted that they can be injured and die through normal means; Baldr was only immune to most weapons because Frigg asked almost every substance in existence not to harm him and they agreed.
Compare to Greek mythology where the gods are all assumed to be completely immortal, can only be imprisoned not truly ended, and even have built in healing factor like how Prometheus regrows his liver.
I like the part at the end where Loki ties their junk to a goat and plays tug of war just to make a girl laugh
I have barely seen Norse mythology but I am already interested
@@RobloxReportNews thats norse mythology, not greek
@@Trukmuche1 oh
There was something strangely wholesome about that quote
Honestly, I feel like most teenage boys (let's face it, every Norse god's mental age ranges from 5 to 15 and never leaves that range) would have done the same
I can confirm that gardeners and farmers are indeed as competitive as Idunn
I love that Loke is like the cause of 80-90% of all problems and he has to fix them but he never learns
That's not true. He learns how to cause bigger, better problems.
I don't know much about Norse Mythology but I think Jake will do great on this
So Odin yells at Loki for shenanigans, but in almost the same breath says, "As a _trickster_ god I gotta respect the hustle"? That's rough.
Can I just say I love the "Politely ask" and respond with "Gun"
All of half of all of norse mythology summed up in one sentence
"Loki was bored."
Loki; the original Loony Toon.
Loony Tune
I feel the need to compliment the speed that videos are being produced
I just wanted to say that i love yer channel bro
You made me a huge fan of greek and norse mythology
I showed your channel to my history teacher and we both enjoy it
Keep up the good work
One of my favorite stories in the mythology. And it’s made by one of my preferred sources to learn it? Epic. Another good video mate. Can’t wait to see what’s next.
"Next time some one threatens your life, try dying" Idunn says what every other Aesir is thinking
It's awesome that you provide quotes from the original sources above the videos now. Keep up the good work!
Will there be more Egyptian Mythology episodes? I'm asking because I read that the Egyptians had end of the world story, and I'm wondering if that was true? Book I read that from was in Polish but the source was provided and it was something like "Papyrus containing Dialoge betwen Osiris and Ptah".
There’s a dialogue between Osiris and Ra after what will happen after the world ends in the Pyramid Texts. It is said that Nun will consume everything again and Osiris and Ra will survive in the form of snakes.
Beg snake eat all
Funny coincidence, I just finished the Norse Mythology comics by Neil Gaiman and was thinking "Oh I cant wait to see Jake make this in cartoon form." And behold today the story of Idunn, so great!
the guns were the funniest part alongside thor's phone
"Next te someone threatens your life try dying" absolutely love this line
Loki: so this joke I'm going to do is tie a goats beard to my... Uh... Junk. TIME TO DO THE JOKE!!!! Regret nosies*
"shut the fuck up loki" a line we could all benefit from
I like when gods politely ask Loki pointing guns at they.
Thanks for the upload Jake! You made my day!
Love the channel, keep up the great work!
I love your video's Jake, seriously appriciate every video you make!!!!
"Ah, jees, im dead now"-Thjazi
How do you make them all sound so chill lol😂 idk how it’s so funny!
that scream must have been fun to record!
I guess the real mischief and shenanigans was... the friends we... made along the way?
Is Skaldi a friend? I'm confused, LOKI, EXPLAIN!
I love this myth
Replace the yth with eth
@@Coolertan bruh
I love how you made all the gods appeared old. It looks so funny lmao.
"Ahh geez, I'm dead now" Violently explodes
Pls make a video on the gigantomanichy!
That was my idea in the greek mythology one but i support it
amazing as usual
Love your vids
Great video, great jokes. I would watch an entire show like that.
Crazy how we watch for fun and someone probably watches for school
😂😂 I’m so glad you posted this 🎉🎉
Just got out of fencing class to find this, this puts a smile on my face :)
The short scream when the goddess got yoinked by the eagle literally had me in tears 🤣
Why didn't Loki just let himself be dropped and shapeshift into something that can fly? I know that questioning the logic of mythology is never going to end well but it just makes sense.
Awesome, as usual. 😁
LETS GO JAKE UPLOADED!!!!!
The orange guy's grundle is so shriveled!
luv ur vids
Loki: ah, another happy ending
All the other God: we wouldn't need a happy ending if you would stop pulling your bull💩
It was good, but too short. Hope to see more longer videos in the future!
first mythology vid with wholesome ending
I think Skadi deserves a little more credit for being one of the few beings in Norse Mythology so f***ing terrifying, Thor doesn't even consider beefing with her.
Or maybe he was just sympathetic cause watching your dad getting barbequed sucks.
Loki really took a shot for team there...no wonder he betrayed them at ragnarök
I only noticed this now, but Loki being referred to as them is a really nice touch
I love it
Ah Loki, the cause of, and solution to, all the Aesir's problems
1:47 That yell 😂😂😂
Fingers crossed for Utgard Loki
Peaceful and/or unencumbered resolution: *exists*
Loke: and i took that personally
I can't WAIT for your ragnarök video!!!
I'm really glad I wasn't drinking anything when Freyja's facelift showed up
Nice new designs
Perfectly executed comedic explosion.
Hey Jake could you do a video on the Valkyries next? im playing one in DND and i feel like im making a lot of mistakes on who they report to, who they pray to, and how they deal with the slain souls (in both timing and who goes to valhalla). i know they dont usually do adventuring (as far as i know) but my reasoning is that shes there on her first on-site mission to free the souls from a necromancer clan deep in waterdeep cause they keep taking choses souls of valhalla.
This was my 4th grade class play and honestly I have trauma from it 😭
Like I had to be Frigg (Odin's wife) & this boy who legit tormented me all year was Odin.
We had EVERY scene together which just gave him more time to mess with me 😮💨
Loki and the goat is honestly one of the funniest things I can think of.
The explosion got me off guard
Was just wondering, will you ever do a story about heimdall?
Another instance of Loki causing problems then being forced to fix them. Truly their own worst enemy
Aww man sadly I won't be able to be ln the premier since its my birthday but I hope everyone has fun! Can't wait to watch it after tho!
Happy birthday! Mine was on the 7th!
Plz make more Egyptian Mythology videos
Well now I want to see the goat tied to junk thing in a marvel movie, that would be something to behold
1:19 Wow, Iðunn has such potent apples in her private wooden box1, I wonder what she has in her other private wooden boxes.
Nordic Mytjology in a nutshell: Loki was Bored.
the title just got me interested
Idunn's scream when she gets snatched! *chefs kiss* Perfection! How many takes did you have to do?
You should do Orpheus' story
Can we please get more Greek mythology? I absolutely adore that series
I like how Loki’s fingers move
Fertility God's junk not looking so good lmao. It's the details that are funny with the old Gods.
You are a health hazzard! I laughed so hard, I almost chocked on my sandwich 😂
I like this story, it's nice.
At this point I almost feel bad for Loki
Can you sometime make a video on how to design historical and mythological characters.
Ps it was really fun when the gods were old.
I'm guessing the next episode is Skadi and Njord's married life, can't wait!
You should talk about mimir and the river of knowledge and how mimir caused odin to lose his eye
In one of your videos can you talk about khione the goddess of snow?
The part where they make the daughter happy was so wholesome
Oh hey new video
Jake should do Aztec Mythology
This entire time, I was thinking
Dang, Freyr has a weirdly round cod piece
Seeing it got wrinkled, I have a simple question.
W H Y
Loki creates the problem then solves the problem and sometimes better than originally planned like with miljoner
Not really, considering Loki's interfearence caused Mjolnir's handle to be shorter than it was supposed to be.
As a irish person I'm pretty sure I heard there was irish mythology can talk about it in a video
Are these stories from Neil Geimann’s book?! Love it 😍
it is more entertaining watching this story then learning it in school
Sometimes I wonder if Loki just likes being hurt.
Pause at 2:05 and look at Frejya and Freyr 😳🤣
Great video, can you please do Māori mythology after you’ve finished everything else? I’d love to see NZ get some attention
Just noticed that Njorn has sparkly feet throughout the whole video
