I love how all this starts because Loki stole his mates bird cloak (which he doesn't need because he can shapeshift????) and decided to spy on a random person for no discernible reason
I mean he got Odin and Thor their divine weapons, got Odin his fastest horse, helped the Aesir to trick the builder of Asgard's walls...I mean he doesn't always help but cut my man some slack he is pretty useful
3:23 the line “but the lump of molten metal was thrown in such a way” implies thor threw it in a way it just dodged the atoms of the wood which sounds Thor enough
Maybe he threw it so fast that it achieved fission and just vaporised a hole in the wood. And his face... and the wall behind him... and part of the tree outside at the bottom of the hill... Thor's a beast
no joke, thor can lift part of the world serpert shifting the earth, drink a chunk of the ocean in 3 chugs and destroy mountains while in a illusion And for even weirder stuff, apparentely he hit a dude so hard he flew from asgard straight to helheim, but not like, killed him, but made him physically go from the living world to the afterlife, so depending on the interpretation regarding the realms, he either sent the dude flying a fuckton of kilometers or between dimensions. He also grabbed loki as a salmon so hard the other half of his body was flattened or something, and this somehow affected every samon in existence onwards Throwing hot iron so hard it messes with the laws of physics is definitely a thor thing
It was a good day for Loki because he did the only thing he was good at, mischief, and it was a good day for Thor because he did the only thing he was good at, murdering people.
Fun fact: A Danish comic book series based on Norse mythology named "Valhalla" combined the stories of Odin being captured by Geirroth and this story with Geirrod being the same king. Their names are very similar, and the combination is well put together with Loki and Thor's trip being a rescue mission.
I've noticed that many stories with Loki involve him using Frigg's falcon cloak thing. In fact, he seems to use it more than Frigg does... now that I think about it, are there *any* stories where Frigg actually uses *their* flying bird suit?
In one version of the story of Baldur's death that i read she used her cloak to fly around all the realms to make everything promise not to hurt Baldur i could be mistaken though
i think thor and loki's relationship in the norse mythology inspired marvel to make them brothers like they are just like brothers without being brothers
3:24 I'm stuck wondering how Geirrod was talking without his mouth, then promptly realised a) I don't need to think so hard and, b) It's Norse mythology that probably happened on the regular
Keep in mind that Heimdall is stated to have two out of nine mothers named Gjálp and Greip, which means that Thor maybe, maybe not killed two of his maybe, maybe not brother’s family members in this story, and didn’t feel that guilty about it.
Well, they were trying to crush him to death up against the ceiling; and one of them was previously trying to drown him, not that I'm saying Thor was helpless. Still, you've gotta admit; it was pretty stupid of Geirrod to invite the guy who regularly culls his people's number to his door step, regardless of the theoretically imposed handicaps on Thor.
There's a comic where this story and the one of geiroth and agnar were combined and I think its interesting as the moral that thor learns is he is a god with or without mjollnir
All this story needs is "The Boys" written on the lower half of the screen while Thor and Loki commit multiple crimes and walk away without any repercussion
i wanted to thank you for reigniting my interest in history I bought the prose edda and the poetic edda and I've been reading them but its fun to see your interpretation of the books thanks for the vids man❤
You know, I was kind of questioning the visual and reasoning at 1:39. Then I remembered the goat vs testicle tug of war, and realized this wasn't that out of place.
Loki and Thor were really lucky getting those luxury accommodations, I mean a chair and a goat, talk about fancy. The video was awesome but could’ve used more Loki mischief, it was probably Loki's off day right?
Could you do lore on the 7 avatars of hell? I’m so curious to know if there is more then seven, because theirs a lot of bad things. I’d also like to know how they formed. Like how did gluttony happen?
I think that the real moral here is that grid is awesome and her stuff is always very effective for killing things. Always go to her before going on some adventure.
Okay just scrolling through the comments, Isn't anyone gonna talk about The daughter straddling the river 😂. I believe she was pulling in the land on both sides but to imagine her peeing in it to raise the water and thor using a rock to plug it up😂😂
I love how all this starts because Loki stole his mates bird cloak (which he doesn't need because he can shapeshift????) and decided to spy on a random person for no discernible reason
He needed to steal it simply because it's fun to steal stuff
@@zwiebeldogs The secret ingredient is crime. It's always crime
The reason was for mischief you know they whole thing Loki is know for
He's used Freyja's falcon cloak at least two other times so I just headcanon that he can't turn into birds
@@VXMasterson He can certainly turn into a horse though.
I need someone to count how many times Loki did something that was accidentally helpful.
🐁
You look parched would you like a caprisun
All the time
Loki in mythology is pure chaotic neutral whole marvel loki is just evil and sometimes neutral but not often
I mean he got Odin and Thor their divine weapons, got Odin his fastest horse, helped the Aesir to trick the builder of Asgard's walls...I mean he doesn't always help but cut my man some slack he is pretty useful
Beginning of Norse myths that end in bad things happening: "Loki wanted to do a lil' bit of trolling"
Greek myths: "Zeus was a lil down bad"
Egyptian myths: "Seth was a lil jelly"
(btw, pretty sure I've seen a Tumblr post almost identical to this one)
@@SkyP9812 Really? Ah crap, and I thought I was making a nice joke. Oh well
Lovecraft: "So there was this generally well educated white man who was passing through what happened to be the wrong place"

That sounds equal parts hilarious and awesome.
I swear Loki has a clock on a wall but every number just says “mischief time”
Every even number is for helpful mischief while every odd number is evil mischief
Your dialogue between characters is ALWAYS on point 😂😂😂😂😂😂
The “you f*cking scare me, man” was hilarious! 😂😂
"One day Loki was in the mood for doing some mischief."
Ah, so nothing new?
I've noticed that many stories with Loki involve him using Frigg's falcon cloak thing. In fact, he seems to use it more than Frigg does... now that I think about it, are there *any* stories where Frigg actually uses *their* flying bird suit?
There aren't because Loki constantly steals it

1:40 Lmao did anyone else notice the pun: Thor picked up "Iraq" instead of "a rock"? The "Iraq", that jake drew is also pretty accurate!
I was was looking for this comment
Thor : * kills the dudes two daughter's*
Loki: "u scare me man" 😢
I like the running gag of thor scaring loki by his genocidal rampage
Yessss, this was a fun one! Surprised I haven’t heard this particularly story until now. But now I know. I appreciate it mate!
Best line: “You f***ing scare me, man” -Loki
It also would have been a funny last line of the video.
i think thor and loki's relationship in the norse mythology inspired marvel to make them brothers
like they are just like brothers without being brothers
Always a good day when you see Jake make a new video
Another day another mythology video
Yes
Since reading this story I have always had trouble picturing the river rising…. Now I can
cursed :D
Loki wakes up every day thinking, "It's a beautiful day to fuck shit up."
3:24 I'm stuck wondering how Geirrod was talking without his mouth, then promptly realised a) I don't need to think so hard and, b) It's Norse mythology that probably happened on the regular
“He did not miss his target”
Hilarious
the moral is
"if you're gonna visit a trickster, be sure you got the power to counter all of their bs"
Has Thor considered therapy?
Keep in mind that Heimdall is stated to have two out of nine mothers named Gjálp and Greip, which means that Thor maybe, maybe not killed two of his maybe, maybe not brother’s family members in this story, and didn’t feel that guilty about it.

one of his moms is ALSO named járnsaxa…. who shares the same name as the lover of thor who mothered magni 😭
The lack of passion in "Alright, prepare to die." is comedy gold.
Loki got superglued oml
I love the Thor & Loki Adventures :)
I need me a series of just Thor and loki traveling the nine realms doing random stuff
Every story is the same, Loki starting up some trouble and Thor ending it, yet it never gets old. I could listen to these stories all day
You know it’s gonna be a good day when Jake uploads
Moral of the story: don’t mess with it Thor.
The Iraq-shaped Rock is hilarious
I love how well Jake makes Mythology easy to understand.

Damn, that's one hell of a kidney stone

1:39 "so, Thor picked up a rock" *picks up a rock shaped like iraq*
Kinda seems like most of Thor's myths are some form of "Thor goes to guest at the home of X... and murders the hell out of them.".
Well, to be fair, it is usually in self-defense.
I like how you keep sneaking in the 'Iraq' joke
Maybe the real lesson was the people we killed along the way.
Great vid jake
I love your vids
Love this vid
And channel
Poor Frigg, she is always the victim of whatever Loki does at this point.
loving the outro music
You know, I was kind of questioning the visual and reasoning at 1:39. Then I remembered the goat vs testicle tug of war, and realized this wasn't that out of place.
Drowning is already a horrifying way to go.
But drowning in someone's... bodily fluids is probably even more so.
Off☠️
1:42 I get the joke. lol
Ah yes, the classic trope of "Someone tries to one-up Thor but realises Thor is even more powerful than they suspected".
First, also love these vids. Keep going
I Love your videos❤

Awesome!~
Honey wake up Jake posted
This entire story is just Thor and Loki acting like a party of murderhobos.

Woooo more norse mythology
i love these episodes of Thor's beef with random jotnar
I think that the real moral here is that grid is awesome and her stuff is always very effective for killing things. Always go to her before going on some adventure.
We laugh at Loki, but he did go three months rather than reveal himself. Gotta respect that.
Ah yes just a bored day till he posted this video my boring day just got fixed
Thor and loki's bizarre adventure
The moral is have someone like Thor, someone who will to kill anything
Norse mythology in a nutshell:
Everything was fine, and then loki got bored

Unsee-Juice

I like how you use they/them for Loki
Marvel Thor: Good guy himbo
Canon Thor: "I've got a boner for murder!"
Can you do one about baldur and mistletoe?
Hey, Jake, have you ever talked about Aergia ?
My favorite two gods
hey jake can you make some Egyptian myth videos
I love how Loki mouth is stil stitch together how dose he talk?
"He picked Iraq"
Can you do a story on the siege of troy or something
I just realized when Thor picked up a rock, it was the country of Iraq.
Another day another norse mythology video
Loki: let me go! I mean....sqwak?
Epic quest
these videos are ON TOP
First ✊🏻great vid❤
I stared at that rock until it’s shale clicked … I laughed at this for to long
2:27 so what were the sisters trying to achieve by raising the chair? I feel like I'm missing something.
Why is the rock Iraq shaped I cant’t unsee it.
The Moral of the Story Were the Gjalps that We Killed Along the Way
- A Cross-stitched Pillow that went unmentioned in the Poetic Edda
“There’s not a moral to this story i just have a lot of fun killing people” he just like me fr fr
1:40 "so thor picked up a rock" shows a rock that looks like Iraq😂😂
Okay just scrolling through the comments, Isn't anyone gonna talk about The daughter straddling the river 😂. I believe she was pulling in the land on both sides but to imagine her peeing in it to raise the water and thor using a rock to plug it up😂😂
A better story than quantumania
Im not a native english speaker, this Loki they them thing really confused me😅
make 👏 a👏 video 👏 about 👏 BALDUR! 👏
*As an Iraqi I love that reference*
Loki 100% has a fetish for turning into animals
Like Zeus.

Yeah. Loki was the biggest bird.
Ooh boulder to the minge. Ouch! Snug fit guess.
You should animate Ragnarok and new Asgard
Can we apreciate the fact that the rock that thor throws is in the shape of iraq
