- Hi Guys! My old my washing machine recently died, and I decided to buy a Samsung top load washing machine. This model WA50R5200AW is a 5.0 Cu. Ft. washing machine. It can handle a good amount of clothes. It has a self cleaning feature and an active water jet. It is quieter than my old machine during spinning cycle, and it doesn't shake as much. I need to know how to fill the machine with water and clothes and soak overnight. So far if you stop the machine it empties.

This washer is very good, I have one. It is different from the others because its system is to save energy and water. If you want the washing machine to fill completely with water, you have to choose the cycles that have the deep fill option, otherwise, it will not fill completely. It took a little getting used to but now I understand better how it works

Thank you for making this video. Instruction manuals no longer provide instructions and are basically written by the manufacturers legal team to protect them against lawsuits. Mine didn't even identify where to put the detergent! I've only just done a test cycle, but I am impressed with the aesthetics, and the quietness of operation. Just bought mine today at Costco. My $1k whirlpool washer died just after 2 years and 3 months! They don’t make long lasting washing machine as before.

I noticed that the soil option probably should be load size because the higher you go on the soil choice the more water you get .

I went to Costco today and I noticed they have the same washer for sale except it has a 400AW instead of 200AW, Maybe it's upgraded, the price was $549, Not bad for something brand new I was looking at a appliance center where they sell damaged washing machines and they have similar machines for almost $700, Thanks for the video

@Bill Lee no issues at all works great and we use it a lot, only thing is if you put too much soap or softener it will siphon out immediately so don't overfill it

Thank you for the review. I bought the same washer over 2 months ago and I thought it was broken. This washer moves more before the water comes in than it does after the water comes in. It rocks the clothes on the wash cycle but not enough to wash the clothes. It does not clean clothes well. At times some of the clothes are still dry after washing and doesn't even get wet whether it's a small or large load. It slowly rocks the clothes back and forth which does not wash the clothes. I use extra liquid detergent on top of the clothes and it was still there when it finish washing. Please don't use the little pods because it will still be a pod at the end of the wash even thru the rinse cycle. The ONLY thing I like about this washer is the bell to tell you when it's finish and the see thru lid. I so want to return it.

I believe you have to calibrate it so it weighs the clothes accurately and can fill accordingly other wise you have to use the deep fill option

I have the same top loader from Samsung, I learned one thing form Best Buy technician when they installed it, is to pour the detergent on top of the cloths after the water cycle, let it run first then when the water cycle finishes open the lid and pour the detergent on it.
Otherwise your machine will smell in time, because those hoses to don’t rinse at all and in time the residue from the detergent will smell..
I believe this Samsung washing machine has a SELF CLEAN cycle, that should be performed every month or every 20 cycles. You can use a cup of liquid chlorine bleach when doing the SELF CLEAN cycle to eliminate the odor. Thanks for the comment!

How do you take the top off to replace suspension rods
I have this same washer. Its currently stuck in the middle of a cycle and i selected deep fill. When i came home the clothes are still siting in a full tub of water. I turned off the machine and turned it back on and selected rinse & spin to drain the tub. I hear a hum but nothing happens. Please help
I got mine today and was surprised at the small amount of water that it used! Wasn't sure if it was right so I watched your video and saw the same small amount of water in your machine. I just have to get used to it, I guess

Hey, best idea to resolve that small amount of water is install a T-Valve connector with a small hose to it, so you can put more water into the washer

You have a deep load option too. So wash just a few things or a large load.

That orange shirt or whatever was on top the whole cycle?? I just put three small area, rugs rubber backed, and it wouldn’t fill up high enough to get them submerged at all. I had to turn on the water jet manually to fill the tank up enough for them to actually move. I was using quick, wash it with heavy soil and heavy spin settings.

as I just recently found out there are no bottoms to seal the interiors of these machines like my old Kenmore washer had. So, a pack rat got up into it and chewed a wire to the drain pump, I guess. It took me nearly 2 months to get service out for it from Samsung as they had messed up on my warranty info. Anyway, the repair tech(s, the second one never said a word and the first one wouldn't answer my questions except to say the repair would not be under warranty and the price to fix mine would be from 6 to 8 hundred). He actually said I should just buy a new one....I'm still paying this one off. I will never by another Samsung product again. Their customer service is horrible. So, now I have to go out and fix my washer myself. I sure miss my old Kenmore. I had it for 23 years...........and it got my clothes cleaner than the Samsung.

Hello, I have a water leak from my softener and detergent tray into washer. Any one know how to stop the water ?

What kind of detergent did you use? HE, high-efficiency detergent is recommended for Samsung washer because Samsung washer is a high-efficiency machine, it uses less water than the regular washing machine, and HE detergent produce less suds than the regular detergent, therefore, it required less water.
What do you do with the fabric softener button?
You press the "Fabric Softener" button to add an additional rinse at the end of the cycle for more thorough removal of laundry additives and perfumes.

This machine uses less water , but if you want more water, then press the DEEP FILL.
We just got this washer and I believe it is a good one. I am just wondering about the water level, it seems like not enough water for the clothes, which to me is a bit odd. How can it wash if there isn't enough water?
This is a high efficiency machine that is designed to use less water, but if you want more water in the drum, I believe you can push the "Deep Fill" to add more water.
Mine drains into a sink in the laundry room. Once you actually see it coming out, I feel like it's too much water

How's it been working for you all this time? I just bought one from Costco and I figure with a 2 year warranty if it lasts that long it's only 250$ a year sunce it was 500$. As far as cleaning the clothes do washers really scrub and get every stain or soil out? No, i feel they're ment to get the stink out so obviously pre-treat stains. Maybe the one's with agitators are better but no machine is a perfect cleaner, in my opinion.

Yes, I have this washer for about 2.5 years and have no issues. I always use HE detergent, and I always spread out my clothes evenly when I put them in the washer. I do the "Self Clean" cycle after every 20 loads.
Why when I put the water in it n press start it’s not spinning it is letting out the water instead
Somehow the Samsung washing machine lets the water out first before starting new cycle.

I believe Samsung gives 2 years warranty on their washing machine. I would call them to have a repairman to take a look at it.

Replace it with something that is not a Samsung, they make horrendous washers. Worst reliability in the industry, would recommend a Miele or Asko.

Well, I loved my old Maytag washing machine, but I think I like the quietness of the Samsung machine.
I have this washer and on small loads on quick cycle seems to put enough water but it is leaving brown stains on my clothes and it is very aggravating! The last washer a whirlpool front loader load and go was leaving random blue stains on my clothes! I want to go back to my old kenmore! I never had this stain problems with it! And I could chose my own water level.... if i washed a small load I used small or extra small. Not rocket science.......

It is a smart machine, and I thinks it adjusts the water level according to how many items in the machine.
The more clothes you have the higher you go on the soil button. That should have just been a load size button not a soil button. I had to figure that out myself crazy .They should be able to get it right by now especially they're so expensive I might get me an older machine more simple oh and agitation

How to end a cycle without finishing cycle?
I would just turn off the washing machine.
Do you know if there is a way to use the active water jet and let the clothes soak for an extended period of time or will it automatically shut off and drain at some point? Thanks.
I got this washer recently, if you already selected and started a wash cycle you can add more water using the water jet. If you use the water jet before selecting a wash cycle the washer will automatically drain after using water jet. It also has another setting to select presoak which will add another 15-20 min to whichever cycle you choose to allow soaking time. You can always just start a load then pause it after it fills up to let clothes soak.
I believe there is a "PRE SOAK" option that you can use to soak your clothes. First, put your clothes in and select your cycle. Then, select the "PRE SOAK" option and hit "START" to start the washer. I believe after the water fills up the washing machine, the clothes will soak for awhile before the actual washing begins. Thanks for asking! I hope that will answer your question.
Just press Pause button n lid will unlock...then add water with water jet..then close it n press Play button again..it will finish washing cycle

I got this machine in September and I still can't get used to it. The tiny amount of water that it uses doesn't cover the clothes no matter how tiny the load it. I literally stand and watch to see if the clothes are spinning around but they remain in the same position from start to finish. I don't like this machine. Mine doesn't work like this one In this video.
It is a high-efficiency washing machine that uses 80% less water than the old washing machine, and it saves you money on water bill. That's what it is designed to do. Thanks for the comment!

I have this Samsung machine, has anyone figured out how to bypass the locked lid, so you can add clothes during the wash cycle?
I believe if you press down the TEMP. and the RINSE at the same time, it should unlock the CHILD LOCK.
You can push and hold the Hold/Start button for a couple of seconds, wait to hear the click and it stops, unlocks and you can add your stuff. Close it and push button again and it starts where it stopped at.

This is a terrible washing machine. I have had mine for just a little over 2 years and it is just about unusable due to issues with the stabilizers that "attempt" to control the drum moving during the spin cycle. It gets a HU error code, kicks the time back 20 minutes and starts adding water to the washer on just the spin cycle. Samsung has had a huge number of recalls on their top loading washers and they wear out quickly. Buy something else.

Mine keeps telling me I have water line issues and the internet says samsung washers have a mesh filter that needs cleaned after every wash. But where?! Lol mime also uses water on just spin as well.

Worse machine ever. This slow and weak spin didnt clean clothes at all. You can clearly notice the clothes remained in the upper portion didnt went down for cleaning.
I personally like this machine.

Yes, I got UR and UB a few times when my wife washed blankets and bed sheets. Those items were heavy and caused unbalance in the spin cycle. To solve this problem, I recommend not overloading the washing machine and spread the items around evenly. Thanks for the comment!
Don’t buy this junk. Get one with the agitator. The drum on these ones are ‘hung’ on springs which don’t last. You will have to change them (4 of them on each corner) every 2 years or so. You can do the fix yourself or pay a tech $300- $600. Samsung won’t stand beside their poorly designed product. After this happened to me I started doing research and found out Samsung has so many recalls on their appliances. Not going to be a customer anymore.
This thing cleans clothes horribly! It hardly agitates the clothes at all!! This is why I will buy a front loader!! What a POS!!!
