I just saw this today, months after my good friend Mike passed. I am in tears. I loved Mike on so many levels. Always generous and always open hearted musically and personally. RIP my good friend. So honored to have known you, worked with you and most dearly, been your friend. You ARE missed. With Love, M
Many, many thanks to this Wrecking Crew RUclips channel for providing these unique and fascinating videos. This channel is the absolute best resource for presenting the Crew's vast influence on music - along with the important film of the same.
Dang it- and poof just like that, one of the greats is gone. Always a wide eyed and big eared FAN of music, jazz and the piano. Always encouraging and creative. A real pillar of the studio community for generations. Such a loss- love you Mike.
Wow! That was fantastic. Such a gifted pianist and so humble. I was friends with Mike for many years. We’d talk about music mostly. I play the piano (not that great) and he’d always be encouraging. In all those years he never mentioned that he played with Sinatra!!! With Aretha!!! With The Beach Boys!!!! Holy shit. Such a humble guy. A great loss to the music world.
Monster musician and beautiful guy. I miss him a lot.

I met Mike at Chuck Domanico's memorial reception. An extraordinary piano player and wonderful person. He'll be missed.
A true great one. He could easily have been a Master Class teacher. Thank you sir.
One of the humble greats. RIP.

Sad news but what an amazing life Mike & the other members of the Wrecking Crew led & brought to the world of music.
Thank you for documenting this dialogue with Mike Lang ✌
Did Leland mention this on his show?

@@randyschiffer3265 Hi Randy. :)
What was the Aretha Franklin song that he played on?
Lang said "we're playing a ballad called 'United Together," which was on her first Arista album 'Aretha' in 1980.
What an amazing career Lang had!
@@BermondseySteve thank you. Somehow that slipped by me and I didn’t hear it. I appreciate your help and kind reply.
rest in peace mike
