Seven hours is the approx. playtime for someone who isn't speedrunning and wants to enjoy the game. Besides that, you can't exactly speedrun Luigi's mansion if you want the best ending.
The voice part for the ghosts was really well done! Actually, pretty much this whole thing was very well done! The E. Gadd voice was great. The vocal part of the ghosts was just very creepy, and very well done.

I know I'm not the only one who thought _Luigi's Mansion_ was a great game. I just didn't think people would find it superior to _Super Mario Sunshine_ considering the former isn't even a _platformer_, a.k.a. what many people expect of a Mario game. It may be varied, but at least it did so in a good way… unlike how _Sonic Adventure_ handled the alternate-gameplay gimmick for a couple of characters.

You're right about the Dreamcast part, but I was mentioning how _Sonic Adventure_ had too many variants of play-style: one minute, it's a fast-paced platformer, the next a third-person shoot-'em-up, and next a fishing simulator. Also, I wasn't even comparing _Sonic Adventure_ to either game in overall quality, so in the future I'd recommend reading a comment that you're about to reply to.
Lastly, _Sonic Adventure_ was ported to the GameCube not long after the Dreamcast sank, so even though I don't own the latter I could still play the game if I went out and bought it. I don't know about the Adventure-era games, though… something tells me it's worth saving my money for something else. (i.e. Bandicam, a Wii U, 64-bit Windows 7, ect.)
If you listen to brentalfloss's Sunshine song, you'll see that he also doesn't like it that much. I'm sure the joke at the end was because Luigi didn't want to be in a scary game.

Scenario 2: This leads me to a theory that TIME IS STOPPED INSIDE THE MANSION. If he were to fail to complete it within the night, he would be trapped forever in whatever limbo it was stuck in. Eternity. Alive. Tormented by ghosts, never aging...

Dark moon wasn't bad, it just couldn't live up to it's predecesor in my opinion.
I also didn't get why they decided to turn it into a level system.
I prefered actually being able to discover the mansion just on your own, even IF the first was linear (each new ghost gave you the key to the next) it didn't feel as linear as the second one did.
Maybe the third one in another 10+ years will take the best of both games.

Good ol' Weegee's mansion... you know a game's great when you can play it over and over again, practically to total completion, and have fun every time. Dark Moon is just as amazing, I'd have to say.

Luigis mansion originally had a 24 gameplay timer, so if you didn't rescue Mario in 24 hours the mansion would disappear and you would loose
Majora's mask had that feature but it gave you 3-days (plus a time slowing down spell)
I remember reading once, that originally Majora's Mask was to be a 7 day limit, and in the end they turned it to 3 days.
If they had a 24 hour limit, the game would still be easy.
