Well, the cheapest 'decent' automatic GMT at least. If you have found a cheaper NH34 powered watch, leave me a link. A Top 10 seems inevitable. This one is by no means perfect, but most of its foibles are forgiveable considering the modest price tag. Now to find a 21mm perlon..... Cheers, Jody

Still upsets me that Seiko cannot put sapphire crystal on they're lower-budget watches yet I see everybody else can quite easily afford to sell you a budget watch with a sapphire crystal.. nice-looking dressy kind of watch just a ton of value for the money
They did do sapphire on their Seiko 5 Superiors, but I have no idea how much those went for new.
@@johnsrabe thanks for the heads up I think they need to be putting it on every watch
Sapphire Turtles are 50 % more expensive than Hardlex Turtles. I agree with you. If Seiko wants to go upmarket, they should go up quality as well..
Nice watch, Jody! I have often solved the odd lugwidths by squeezing in a strap one millimeter larger. Usually easy. Or shave off some material with a knife.
Hi Jody, great review I did look at this one when you did the Ali express top ten Sale watches. I may go back and have another look now. keep up the good work
Steeldive Sd1992. Priced currently at $140, and that's in Canadian dollars. Ceramic bezel, sapphire crystal, 300m water resistance, milled clasp on the jubilee bracelet and with Seiko NH34gmt movement. Ridiculous price for hell of a watch!
Link?
But it's ugly af
It’s nice waking up to a new JOMW video. It’s past lunch time here in my country haha. Looks nice for a GMT watch, albeit a tad big for me. Great review as always. Cheers
Gold tinted glass makes the movement look like SOLID GOLD!! “Maybe it is real gold” says my 6 year old son. Mission accomplished?
Ahahha, the innocence of youth eh?
The Indian chicken brand,(Tandorio) is selling a direct copy of the sk5 GMT for 79.00. I bought one before the sale at 99.00. Great watch, no complaints whatsoever….except for the weird brand name, of course.
The cheapest NH34 GMT I've seen is Corgeut's GMT Master II lookalike, which is $67.53 right now. That's a wild price for steel, sapphire, and an NH, let alone an NH34.
Wow. That's insane. I build and sell seiko mods and that is almost 70/80% of the total cost of the movement itself!
Cadisen's destro Rolex Sprite homage is also about the same price, with a nice bracelet that has Rolex' similar glide lock system for micro adjustments.
As for the tinted glass on the back - I got a Quanchin that you recommended a while back (40mm NH34 daily with sapphire for around 40ish bucks) and it has the same tinted caseback. My guess is that it's cheaper and easier to tint the glass to make the movement look all golden and fancy, than to add a gilded custom rotor.
I believe the brand is "Guanqin". I own a few of them, and they just use foil stickers to cover the rotor. I hate this trend of tinted display backs.
Great video Jody, this looks very nice for the price, it gives me some Presage vibes.
I am waiting for Seiko or Miyota to release affordable chronograph automatic...that would be a real game changer...
Seiko has affordable chronographs but powered with a vk63 or vk64 quartz movement. I have one and it's working fine.
@@jerrypanela automatic chronograph not quartz
Never gonna happen. You can buy a seagull or spend your whole life waiting for a pipe dream.
Very very tempted on this one and might grab it before the end of the sale. Not really a dress watch fan, but I have nothing else like this one in my collection, and it does look very good for the price.
The caseback looks like a holographic Pokemon card
Great find Jody!
Always know I’m up way too late when I see a fresh new upload from you 😂 great video
Looks like Steeldive SD1993 is even cheaper at the sale and can come with a ceramic Pepsi bezel insert. But these look nice. Great review as always Jody.👍🎉
I've just picked a black one on a jubilee bracelet in the sale for 107$ with VAT, crazy cheap😎
I already have a GMT watch, but I couldn't resist the price. I hit the Batman jubilee bracelet Gmt for $140, and that's in Canadian dollars.
You’re the best in the business. Thanks for the content!
Thanks mate! Thanks for watching the channel.
Aragagon has a titanium diver with the NH34 for around 149. Really great deal, gorgeous dial.
I’ve always looked at the Star Wars version but have not pulled the trigger. Nice review.
carnival makes real good time keepers, i have one from few years and very satisfied by this brand... thanks Jody for this excellent review as usual !!! 😎😎😎
Nice as always, Jody, thanks for that! I´m not ab big fan of roman numerals, but this watch is a very nice one. Sure, there are a lot of divers outside with the NH 34. And that´s clear! A diver always needs to know the time of another timezone while diving....🌊 Thank you, Jody 👍👍👍
21mm lug width is a hate crime
Thanks Jody! Yes affordable NH34 video would be great... despite not really being a dress-watch kinda guy, I actually like this one. The coloring on the movement window is kinda "old timey". Ahh well, I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder.
JOMW is the perfect name for a watch channel !
Watching your channel for Last 12 months. You’re doing great job.Wish you of course more subscribers.Have question how much can it cost to replace hardlex glass with sapphire crystal in the Seiko ssk gmt.Thank you very much for your answer.
I chuckled at Jody's "Why the Carnival name?" because RUclips threw in what as my embedded ad? You guessed it, Carnival cruises. Too meta for my brain!
My 1st gen Xeric Halograph has similar coating on the caseback. Its got a small open heart-like window rather than a full display and at a glance it looks like the movement is filled with a dark amber oil. The watch case and face are black and dark brown with gold and tan accents, so I assume the coating is an aesthetic choice.
This gives me hope that I'll see another casual dress watch with the NH34. I'll pass on this for now, but I'll keep my eyes open for something like this which is affordable and has a 20mm lug width.
Yes mate I saw a colored case back in a couple of watches!
I'd love to hear you cover the Sugess Daytona V3.
Tinted caseback is a protection of the lubrication. that would prevent the light from drying it out...
Please make a video of you modding the Steeldive 1970 you bought.
Pretty classy 👍
Never seen a tinted display back case, but the N H series movements could do with some visual enhancement… it’s a decent if slightly old fashioned style of watch, would look better on a distressed leather strap.
I like it. It's not yet another dive style GMT, good movement, decentish design and well priced.
Agreed. When I&W *ditch* the Carnival text, I'm buying everything they make.
Is i and w Chinese?
Quite like that one. Not that I have a lot of use for a GMT really but at least a bit of thought has gone into it. The Carnival lettering is so thin I hardly noticed it. 🕵️
Can you review Orient Sun and Moon Open Heart please? Or something similar?
Tandorio is $80 with nh34
Nice looking watch I must say
Not cheaper, but definitely better! I'd love to see a review of the Seestern GMT based on the Steve McQueen EXP II!
That's a beauty. 😮
Like this a lot, gonna pull the trigger cause of your blasted review! Foiled again..but thanks, Jody.
Hey Jody, Pagani is now selling the updated GMT master 2 homage for less than $100. There's also the PD-1758 which seems like a somewhat original design and pretty cool! Maybe you should check them out haha
Good looking watch, why no IV at the 4?
Given the track record of my Pagani GMT, meh on AE watches with complications. GMT hand works, but I was only able to change it a dozen times or so before it lost the ability to adjust. Glad it's only ten or so minutes off, still works as a 24-hour pointer.
Tandorio do watches at about £75 with an nh34, saphire glass and solid endlinks in a dive style
How did you get it delivered so quickly after buying when the sale kicked in?
I think the case back is this color to match the color of the back of the strap
Lovely looking watch! Nice to see a GMT in a traditional dress-style rather than the sporty dive-style. Doesn’t look too thick either.
Not a fan of the small crown or the tinted rear glass, but neither would be deal breakers for me, rather just being picky.
Great review 😁
Give that designer a prize! Nicest looking dress watch I’ve seen in a while - from ANY brand 😊
My pagani was £80 it's the explorer gmt, solid watch, going on 9 months of hard use
It’s pretty nice indeed
Seakoss GMT I would love to see you review it I just got one that seems ok for the $85 U.S I paid but I would.lime to see what you think
Cute watch!
IIt reminds me of a Lobinni L3603M. However it's powered by a Miyota, hence a bit less expensive.
This is pretty 😍
Love the Roman’s
I have an I&W Carnival watch, but reviews on their products are very rare. Mine is with a seagull ST17 movement. Its a homage to a Breguet classique, with small seconds, a date complication and a guilloche dial. It looks fantastic and only cost about £55. A total bargain.
I bought a Carnival watch in a Bauhaus style on a milanese for £60 with the same press on back and coloured glass covering an st6. So is this an I & W or Carnival? Getting Roman numerals to work is really hit or miss, I wonder if is the size that makes the difference, in this case I think it would be better with something else.
Seiko time sonar has a tinted display back, however, no AR.
Awesome watch for the price and the Roman Numeral's really pop and for a GMT automatic it's a bargain.
That is very nice, my only gripe is the kerning (the space between characters) is far too much on the 'Carnival' and the I&W brand kerning also is 'off' between the & and W characters.
That spoils, for me, a very nice dial.
I may have been very tempted apart from that as I'm after a GMT.
I like how I&W Carnival when acronymized spells out "IWC" 😏🌚
I like it.
There's an 8mm I&w watch on there for around the same money id love you to feature that
Corgeut Official Store has an NH34 GMT (model 3002 - 40mm GMT Master homage) currently available in the summer sale for US$68, not entirely sure how they are managing to make any money at that price. A Pepsi style is in my basket but I'm hoping to resist the temptation as I already have a Tandorio Explorer II NH34 GMT on the way, only another 24 hours to hold out.
Not bad at all! If they reduce the case by a mil and the lug with to 20, I think they’ll have something here
I think a guanqin that I bought had the same case back glass. Odd choice but sort of makes things more interesting?
Definitely odd!
I have a Nomos homage from this brand ... not bad.
Rather than all these GMT watches using a second 24hr hour rotation I would prefer a dualtime second hour hand still geared to 12 hours that was slightly smaller than the main hour hand so that when not needed it could be left sync'd and not visible behind the main hour hand. Sinn have a GMT with this hand style on one of their chronos but since its 24hr it cant be sync'd
Hi Jody!
The tinted case back matches the underside of the leather strap. That’s why it’s tinted! 😉
Best wishes,
Claus
To make the movement appear gold in color instead of stainless perhaps. Aesthetics.
My Guanqin 16034 has the same amber glass with blue AR coating on the back. No idea what that's all about.
I like. Pretty dial. I would classify it as an "easy reader," appropriate for my middle-aged eyes. I'd like to see more "easy readers" that are not divers.
That is probably one of the few Roman numeral dials that actually looks pretty good to me.
I bought a PD NH34 for 78$ and I think Corgeut have a seiko GMT as well for less than 100$
The cheapest nh34's I've seen were in Tandorio, Corgeut and Bligers, looks like less than 100CAD for one in your typical rolex homage design. Everything else about them is probably pretty mediocre though.
Ok Jody, I ordered black version along with The Cruiser in yellow? Just Two More Watches couldn’t hurt, right? 🤦♂️
Hulllooooooooo!!!! And weeelcum to wan mohhr wwwwaaatch
Love the intro
I just love watching the AliExpress ambassador.
Well, that got me. Just bought one. Too pretty at too low a price not to try it!
Don't need a GMT or a dress watch, but do like the design. Regards Jody
Ok, for the price, that dial is excellent. The crown is stupid, but for an Ali, this is pretty classy and elegant.
I've seen that case back crystal before. Don't remember on what, yet alone why...
Yah know...clipping a 22 at .5 mm per side and using the 21mm lugs doesn't really detract so much. In fact...depending on what strap, it can make it look better....just saying...half a mm per side isn't that much of a visual affront.
Nice watch but I do wish it had a little better water resistance and some lume. I know it’s a dress watch but one crazy night in a 30m could mean doom! You meet a lady and all the sudden a late night swim becomes a good idea…subtle lume would help remind you it’s time to call it for the night. We’ve all been there, right? Lol
Finally an affordable GMT with a dressy style. I'll probably pull the trigger on this one.
Have any of you ever wear Q&Q watch, they are quite popular, owned by Citizen with Casio price.
Seen them but never saw how they fitted in. Better off with a Casio or Seiko 5 I reckon.
Maybe I missed it...but did you get to the bottom of this gold colored NH34?? Or is that completely due to the tinted glass? (Just wondering if it's possibly a knockoff....)
I&W don't put knock offs in, I think it's tinted glass
I like it!! A lot!! Very classy, vintage style and gmt as well. Thanks for sharing!
I genuinely like it. If they made it a little more sporty or GADA and a little less dressy (maybe Omega Aqua Terra’ish), I would pick it up in a hot second. Thanks for the great review as always.
Carnival watches are often misrepresented on Ali. And you nailed it there. The most misrepresented is the hands color. Blue and yellow? More like : sometimes blue and goldish. Stainless steel bracelets are mostnlikely nickel filled or something. No like from me
It's nice to see an 'elegant' GMT watch at this price, but I think I'd spend a little more for a Steeldive SD1992, with dive-watch elements, though a Sugess S431 GMT or San Martin SN0054-G-B1 would be even better.
Correction... Volstok has been making a much cheaper GMT automatic for a lot longer, and it's GREAT!
And it's waterproof to 200m as well plus the entire watch is made and assembled in house.
Discerning customers know that gold is good, gold is expensive. The coating on the case back will confirm to them that they made the right choice, and got great value for money.
What about the Vostok Komandirskie GMT, i know it is not exactly what one would call "modern". But following your decency criterion of a reliable movement that doesnt necessarily has to be accurate, i think the vostok movement fits exactly there. Of course the war is a bit of a negative aspect and i still havent worn my vostok since the invasion of ukraine, but i think the komandirskie still deserves to be mentioned.
well that is a really nice price for an NH34. i got myself a chinese 3804 because i really wanted the orange hand & clean style of a "naked" white explorer clone, a Bliger for about 110 aussie bucks, and the accuracy is a *lot* more flakey than my other cheap chinese watches (mostly flawless tongji movements) but tbh it averages better than 30s a day and it's still running after a couple of years. for another $30 i can now get something similar with NH34 and i'd choose that in a heartbeat ... but there's no reason to spend money on upgrading, as the worst thing about poor accuracy is it gives me an excuse to fiddle with the watch every week or two. i have over a hundred of watches with better accuracy, and yet i'm wearing this POS every day. embrace the irrationality of watch ownership, imo
Ive seen the tinted amber colour display caseback before, as to why they do it, no friggin clue.
