- Many HMT employees didn't know, I didn't know, probably very few knew about the shocking change that came with HMT stellar.
While recording this video I got to know more about its movement.

HMT comes out with amazing products that an Indian would feel proud to own, but then have limitations in supply or variety. I would have loved the Semi skeleton with day date function or the other one in Stainless steel finish rather than gun metal. Along with that the display pictures on their website puts one off and can't see the real beauty of their products. Thanks for showing real life images for the ones that depend on online purchase.

Yaa but these things are very difficult to procure. Every time I login to hmt website, I feel like world will come to an end before that site will load. Creating an account there is next to impossible, probably thy need more verification than opening a bank account, and most of the time the ID uploaded won’t be accepted by them. If at all u r through all these hurdles you’ll find all the watched in awaiting stock.
HMT website is a classic example of un user friendly website. Second only to IRCTC.

Nice watches. Very clean dials. Excellent presentation. Only two gentle suggestions...the box can be correctly called as a chest. Somewhat like a treasure chest. Secondly, its an open heart execution. The word "hole" is never used for such a feature. Keep posting such informative vdos. Kudos.

Nice work Rohit. The shocking revelation i personally had was that my stellar had a bilingual day wheel (English & Spanish). Is this the same with your model and in general . This is my first HMT and I am not exactly sure how it is with other models . But it was pretty cool to find it out.
Yes all new miyota movement have bilingual day window. Earlier it used to be English and Hindi. 👍
My father's 1973 HMT Suraj too had bilingual day wheel. So HMT do have a history of this.

Ok I am a newbie in this. I wanted to own a piece of history through HMT watches and to be honest it reminded me of theirs ads back then along with Titan. I went to their website and they have mechanical handwound which when I select also showed auto day date. What does that mean? Is it battery operated? I want a mechanical one with day and date so would really appreciate your advice to which ones I should look at .
I bought a Jhalak SS last week. Absolutely lovely watch. I will recommend anyone to buy HMT. The quality of the finish is super for the price and amazing dial quality and good accuracy.

@@shejeeb1117 I didn't check for that. Mostly because I wind my watch only after it stops meaning I reset the time every 2 days. Power Balance is 40 hours, that I can confirm.

Got my DASL 03 , but didn’t get in wooden box. Little bit disappointed. But it’s a beautiful machine . As expected it gets around 15 seconds time difference everyday
Nice Review. Thanks. Can you please tell which movement is more accurate the hacking one or the other. Does the second hand move with same speed in both. From the video, I feel second hand moves faster in the open heart model. Could this indicate higher beats per minutes which is an indication of more accuracy. Thank you.
Both movements are accurate as both are from Miyota. they declare its accuracy as -20～＋40 sec per day. second-hand speed is the same in both watches with is imo 4 ticks per sec.

Miyota started adding the hacking feature to 8205 since 2018-2019, they call it the stopping seconds. So it can be a 8205

Power reserve should be around 40 hrs minimum
DASL 03 not available in stock so I ordered open heart maroon stellar DASS 04 but not which movement used in this don't know.
are you finded which movement used in DASL 03 which supports hacking
Trouble understanding your questions but what I have known
Dasl/dass 03 uses regular miyota 8205 movement
Dasl 04 uses 82s0 hacking movement
One which you have is hacking movement which means your watch stops entirely when you set time
No doubt, it is a beautiful ❤ watch. Due to this open heart model, design on dial , they couldn't able to incorporate the date & day rings inside. It's well understood.
I guess and in my openion, they would incorporate atleast date ring inside by keeping it far edge of the dial by replacing numerical 3 or 4.
I wish HMT must flourish again , both matter I have not liked many if their other designs and the way they pack and sent to us in a cheap broken plastic box. Lol...🤪🤤.
We are all Indians, live with forget and forgive. I sometimes get upset when I received my two watches in broken boxes. But at the end , its elegant design and beautiful color dials....more to that, it is a "mechanical" watch which will work for another 2 decades. 🤤. So I love hmt watches. 🤩

Wow. I like the 04 more. Wish they had lume on the indices. I recently got a Pilot but its not working as promised. Need to get it replaced and their customer support is lethargic.
You can replace the watch, they do it without question. 👍

I raised an email complaint and after no response for a while, HMT asked me to send the watch. I sent it and exactly on the second day post mailing I got back the watch. I was surprised and confused. The piece is same as I sent and this time it had minor scratches and fingerprint all over. So I assumed someone operated/ opened it. But now, surprisingly the winding is smooth till 22-23 turns and the watch doesn't stop. It's just been a day and I have to see how long it holds up.

Wait a second... So HMT is still around? They didn't close down in 2018? Well damn! I used to collect HMTs in 2012 and 2013. And then I stopped when I was told that they were winding down production. And it was getting more difficult to source the new models and import them to the US. And now there are new watches?!
HMT production is closed. But they are still functioning by releasing new models under Auxiliary business division of HMT.

I remember the wild days of 9 years ago where I would have to scour eBay to find HMT models that weren't franken watches, or find someone in India to source a model for me. The last watch I got from them was a Sourab Supreme and a Kanchan Supreme. And back then everyone was chasing the Janata models with the red seconds hand.... And now they're coming up with Janatas with blue hands.😂
