That was my same thought, when I was holding my watch - Prashant sir would have loved it. Shayad unka mujhe phone call aaraha hota abhi. He would have called and congratulated me.
Wherever he is, he would be happy now - to see this project came to fruitation. And I am so very happy, that this came out alive, from our minds to people's hands. And there are no words that would express my gratitude towards you and the rest of the team - to give me oppurtunity this big.

Being a hmt pilot watch fanatic. I was never convinced with any other watches which moved me close as much as hmt pilot.
This watch Himalaya which Biswajith was talking to me about really took me close and when Rohit mention the watch is ready and posted the first glance pictures it blew me away.
I would proudly say this is best of the best hmt has made so far accepting the order and encouraging collectors and hearing out to our plea.

The HMT Himalaya is worth the efforts you guys have put it into this project. It is gorgeous and the fluted bezel like HMT Pramod is the main attraction topped with big hands of HMT Jawahar. Congratulations for this beautiful Himalaya.
Its simple & beautiful the mountain logo represents art...i want it to come with an automatic movement...hmt needs a good advertising team & more presence in social media

It looks fantastic. I hope I have the opportunity to get one, but I'm not sure if HMT ships abroad (And I'm in the US). If it's just a limited edition, then I'll just admire it from afar. This is certainly one of the best designs I've seen from HMT since the Nachiket and the Sourab Supreme.

I bought the watch from HMT showroom in Jalahalli HMT showroom but in back I dont find "Himalaya-The crown of India" written on it also limited edition of 100 as well.

I like pilot and janta ones but they are hard to get & some people who stocked these watches are selling them at 200% high price (even used ones) ya still was able to order kohinoor ..

I cannot find the timepiece on the HMT website.
My collection goes like this-
Orient Bambino - Seiko SRP777K1 (turtle) - HMT Kohinoor (destroyed from a pool accident) - HMT Shakthi (with display case-back) - Rolex Datejust 126333 (Wimbledon dial, Jubilee bracelet) - Titan Edge titanium.
I even converted a non-watch enthusiast friend into buying an HMT when I bought my Shakthi. Most underrated brand IMHO. The value proposition is super strong with HMT, even my friend got his watch with display case-back. He adores looking at the movement ticking and seeing the ratchet wheel while winding.
Himalaya will be released by HMT on website in probably next month.

It's a beautiful watch, thx for the review. However, Sir can you please make a video on transparent back case watches by HMT?
I think you should work on the accuracy of this watch as its approx + 100 seconds a day which is not at all acceptable. Mechanical watch lovers expect atleast +- 30 seconds a day not more than that. I would suggest to increase the price of the watch upto 4-5 k but atleast provide a decent movement which is accurate upto +- 30 sec a day. I would say that your hmt kohinoor accuracy is far better than this watch.

@@testname2635 i bought this timepiece in the starting of this month and since then i am monitoring the accuracy of this watch. In 24 hours its gaining between 70 to 100 seconds however i had a maroon dial kohinoor as well and it always kept a good time maintaining +30 to 35 seconds a day. I had a seiko snk automatic model it was pretty accurate maintaining +10 to 15 seconds a day.
Rest the watch is perfect in terms of look and built quality in the given price range but if the company could work on accuracy it will be awesome product.

I like HMT for its heritage in horology. I do not like their sales philosophy targeted only for domestic Indian market. They could follow the path taken by many Chinese watch brands, marketing it to outside world.

There is a bit issue with its engineering. It is with its crown, it is a bit difficult to wind it as the crowd is too close to the body it doesn't offer a good grip.

It is out of stock. Almost all HMT watches are out of stock. If this goes on, HMT will go out of business, not because of not making good watches, but because of being the 'Master of awaiting stock'. I have been following their website the last 2 years, always greeted with 'awaiting stock'. The Himalaya, or whatever, is absolutely useless if it is out of stock and not available for the common people. A watch that is unavailable, no matter how good, is as good as a broken brick lying by the road.

Rohit Prajapat is nothing more than a middleman. He will put down HMT watches sold on website saying they are not good etc etc. And this is to promote project watches because I hear the project watch initiators get a cut in every sale. If Prajapat had real love for HMT he would have promoted or encouraged people to buy from website showrooms. But his strategy is don't buy from showroom or website all bad watches not like before blah blah, I will give you better deal (with my cut of course). He looks for new HMT members in various groups for his business. Approache me once or twice. I turned him down as I purchase from website.
