One piece of gameplay I think Days Gone needs *If it's not in it already* is the ability to drop grenade/molotovs/traps behind you as you run. Having to turn and aim seems cumbersome and awkward when being chased by 100+ zombies.
I think it probably is in the game, if not that's pretty dumb.

Bud your on the ball, generally most of these reviewers are absolute shite... I honestly think they should leave this kind of thing to the single private RUclips game reviewers who do it out of there home rather than these duds.
@@brukeg446 You're treating these reviewers very unfairly as they have to learn the game mechanics swiftly and often don't get to play the games they review for hundreds of hours like the "pro players" do, which is clearly why reviewers will never be good at the games they review with the exception of games that function very similarly to its predecessors, especially shooter-focused games like call of duty or battlefield.
TL:DR These reviewers often need to cough up a review for a new title within a week of its release and they also compete with other early-reviewers to get their papers out fast while there's demands for reviews of the game.
If you want a skilled reviewer, you'll need to look for them, and they're likely not going to publish their review as quickly as other reviewers, since they'll need time with the game's mechanics.
It's called strategizing! At the beginning line the pathway with sensor mines then hit the horde with cocktail cocktail cocktail shoot the logs run past sensor mines boom I bet they are almost all dead.

Releasing it this year will be suicide. Spiderman, red dead have pretty much got October locked down. And that's not even mentioning the triple AAA annual titles like cod, battlefield etc. The best bet is for early 2019 around February. Gives the devs time to polish it and it will sell well.

They really need to implement an 'outlast' style rear view perspective whilst being chased to increase the tension,otherwise the player/audience misses the spectacle of the hordes.

It is very sad and depressing that there is so many badd reviews. For this game before its release date. It just seems like all the reviews are negative The highest score I seen for this game is a 6 out of 10. It's a shame that some of these reviewers do not know how to play the game at all. And get pist off when they don't know what they're doing. That's why there are so many review bombs on the game. I advise everybody to judge the game When you get your hands on. Instead of listening to the reviews that are out.

There's no difficulty setting, but since it's an alpha build, I guess they'll refine everything and fix most of the problems people are pointing out till the final build. They have plenty of time until the release, maybe they'll add new things and polish the ones that are already in the game

Imagine how annoying it would be to fight any more than 5 zombies if every time you tried to run, they always grappled you or tackled you and by the time you for up the other 50 already swarmed you? I think it's best if they run at you flailing their arms and maybe OCCASIONALLY tackling and grappling.

Agreed. It wasn't the reason I moved to PC but I will tell you since I built my gaming PC reading these petty b.s. "console war" comments is not only old, it's embarrassing as a gamer. Same goes for those who post 'PC master race' comments and actually mean every word they post. Whatever happened to just having fun, some escapism and entertainment, friendly competition among friends, to me that's gaming. I grew up on the NES and the old-school consoles/games of the 90's and I can tell that a large portion of so called gamers today wouldn't know what to do with themselves if they were transported back to that era.

Several things I would change/improve:
- more realistic physics
An exploding barrel creates a shockwave, that would throw everything on the ground in a certain readius, the way this here works is they start to burn/die. Also, not just the enemy should be affected but also the player and your company if you ever have one.
- more realistic stamina depletion
The more stuff you carry, the faster you are exhausted. That would improve or might improve playstyle/choice of tactics or other things. Like for this example, having lighter weapons like the normal handgun and explosives might give you the best chances of running away. On the other hand, choosing to fight these with a heavy weapon, you have to be certain of what you do and your aim or rather kills per second must be close to flawless because otherwise you'll just get smashed.
That big gun he is carrying, you could make it possible, via skills or tolls, to attach it to something, make it a stationary gun. I mean you see such big guns on humvees.
- supply chests
The problem with the decision making for "what do I take with me during the fight?" could be eliminated with a way of hiding your equippment that you don't need just now, for this fight, for the upcoming situation.
You see a horde of zombies, you decide to leave your heavy weapon at some safe-spot which you can just go back to and take with you once you have completed whatever you wanted to do. Again, this would improve decision making when it comes to tactical approach.
Also, this would leave you to whatever decision you made, even if you realize in the middle of the event that you probably die and that the decision was bad after all.
- more realistic gunplay
Where is the recoil? Considering my previous point, the stationary heavy machine gun, shooting and aiming with that gun could be a hard thing to do, fighting a horde like this and being under such a hurry/stress. This could make the stationary heavy machine gun a good feature/option because that way your recoil would be decreased down to a minimum.
- crafting
You talk about immersion. But if you try to max. that out, like with the "+ ?? xp" popping up, then you should add more realism to the game overall. Not just the points I already mentioned but also stuff like crafting. Because here, you press a button to craft and you instantly get the items. There should at least be some time that you need to craft or/and an animation. If you run around shooting freakers and at some point you think "oh I could use a molotov right now", but you don't have one, then you don't just press a button and it magically appears. Adding an animation or time would hinder you from spamming it. And it would allow more tactical gameplay as well. That way, you'd have to think about how you wanna approach them, making a decision like "How many grenades will I need? I guess all of them, 'crafts 3 grenades and 3 molotov'" and that's it.
Regarding all my points, the game probably just doesn't want to be realistic or immersive and I could probably accept that. I mean it is an alpha still, so there could be alot more realism added to this. I would appreciate it. Maybe some points are just now shown in this gameplay footage, I don't know what else the planned I've just seen like 3 gameplay videos, not enough to judge.

hooray you can turn off the XP pop ups. That's all i was waiting for. I don't know why developers think that kind of stuff is good. It works on old school rpg games like final fantasy but not on zombie games.They did the same with dead island. We want to see blood popping out of zombies heads not ' 20xp!' notifications!
Actually, there are people that feel rewarded seeing so many xp poping up, but it's an optional feature so it should fit both types, the ones that like and those who don't, no need to put it on the list of problems. BTW I'm one who likes to see a lot of xp poping up. Like when you take a nice picture and pops a lot of PP on Dead Rising

I like that the mechanics feel experimental and puzzle-like in the way you navigate your route and utilize the environment; these mechanics seem fun top play with. I hope the devs realize at the route what these mechanics are and how to vary them to keep it fresh.

It wasn't scripted. Certainly, just like all live demos there were things like player invincibility and things like that turned on so as not to fail halfway through the demo, but it wasn't scripted. You could even see a few glitches here and there. ;)
And, of course, any good demoer would have played a few times beforehand as well.

Being able to melee attack in stride as you run/sprint seems like it should be something very important they put in. Also being able to shoot without slowing down and aiming. Being able to shoot behind you as you run forward or perform a quick turn and backpeddle as you unload.
looks like the ia of enemies is more intelligent than the previous gameplay they showed us. also the variety of weapons that Deacon use its awesome.
The slow down time mechanic cheapens the game play IMO. If you want the situation to stay intense then keep it in real time.

Surely there is a button that let's you make a quick 180 turn. It took them a while to realize that you can change shoulder view in the previous video.
Was really hyped when I saw the trailer but now all I see is a very alpha buggy, FPS lag mess. I should've known the trailer was only designed for cinematic purposes and not actual gameplay. It looks like it may be a struggle just to get 30 FPS

People tend to misinterpret video game phase. Obviously Alpha is the first phase but its not too far off from Beta tasting. There's a lot of Alpha games that run way better than this. Watching right now it looks like its getting anywhere from 10FPS-20ishFPS which is pretty bad for Alpha. They also said this wasn't even the biggest swarm which means that FPS must be abysmal. The major problem I see for this game is the inevitable lag factor that a large NP AI will create and I assume they'll have bigger type of zombies that will chew up data. I expect that this game will be delayed. It's just the fact that they're hitting less than 20FPS in Alpha is not a good sign. I bet this game, finished will struggle to hit 30FPS consistently due to the size and amount of AI
Joel Girouard yeah cause a game that isn't even out yet or optimized is definitely worse than a game like SoD2 where it's completely broken at launch. It's not done yet and they have a year to make sure it works and runs smooth.
It's still not going to run lag free or smooth throughout. We'll have to wait till next gen with systems with more power to optimize games better. At least that's the hope.

The Logs dont work so i wouldnt shoot those.
