SPOILERS for episode 2x11 "Torn". Confessor!Kahlan being the BAMC on her return to Aydindril! None of this belongs to me; I am just sharing the Seeker love.
Kahlan confessing Fyren was easily one of the biggests flexes she pulled off in terms of confessing people. I mean she confessed a whole ass PRINCE, a leader of another kingdom with whose resources and lands she could do as she pleased it sucks that she didnt fully utilize Fyren to his potential. I bet someone in his position could have been a great help in the war against Darken Rahl.
I think at the end of the episode they established that when the two Kahlans merged back into 1, meant that the two separate versions were essentially killed. Hence, the confessor enchantment on Fyren would be removed.
I'm sure it is but you don't get to see the pretty young ladies in those 👀 outfits. I try and tell my grandson how reading books is so much more exciting because when you read a book you can dive into it and enjoy a much better story . I haven't been to successful at it yet but I'll keep trying.
The problem of this is if such a power existed, there's nothing to ensure all the people with such powers would be just and empathetic. It's like the Ark of Truth in SG1, there's nothing to stop it from spreading deceit for ulterior motives.
i mean there was a whole sub plot about how confessors can't allow for male confessors to be born because they become to power hungry and corrupt and so they have to be killed at birth so basically what you were talking about
@@deadpwner99 Which is a pretty sad worldview because there undoubtedly will be female confessors who are just as power hungry even if you do say that Men on average would be more ambitious.
@@deadpwner99 Except that's sexist nonsense. Women would be no less prone to that. It's just not a good power, period, and there's no excuse for using it even on bad people. I would have Confessors wiped out regardless of how nice they were.
Even though it's great and badass, it's quite horrible to think that confessors just have the right to enslave (confess, steal the soul) people "for justice" and get away unpunished. They're not that different from the Mord-Sith
It's not great, I agree. Though it's generally done for A) Self defense or B) Very serious cases - it's not like if you steal a loaf of bread a Confessor is likely to eternally enslave you. In the instances you see, it's generally done to people who would otherwise be executed and in these cases it's arguably far better for society that rather than being killed for murdering someone, you're instead turned into a fearless and incorruptible force for good that roams the land helping people. The fact that when the Confessor dies the enchantment is broken is pretty bad though - people who have become known as trusted and honourable upholders of justice suddenly turn back into (usually) serious criminals, except now they've potentially had years to be 'upholders of justice' for a community and earned a position they can abuse. Or there's one guy, iirc, who is confessed and told to find a wife, treat them well and honour her etc. Imagine being his wife when the Confessor in question dies and your devoted husband of 20 years suddenly turns into a violent arsehole who could outright hate you, the children you've had together and the life you've built.
In the books there was a man who was innocent so he asked to be confessed to prove it. To him it was better being under confessor control than dead so there's that.
@@lemondeestloeuvredunenfant4633 Sorry, I'm not sure what this added to the discussion other than your enjoyment of anime and opinion of women having powers? So I'm not sure how to respond. As an aside, Male Confessors are a thing in Legend of the Seeker, you just don't tend to see them because the 'morally superior' women drown them as babies.

dude, the mother confessor is the highest authority in the midlands. ofc she has the right to make every decision. and apparently, this episode is called TORN. her personality was torn into two. her judgement, duties and sharp thinking personality is the one that arrived at ayndindril and the other part of her stayed with richard. it's because of the amulet. maybe try to watch the whole series and try to comprehend with your peabrain before you comment here. dafuq outta here BOY. idc if this is a year ago comment idgaf. you pissed me off.
She didnt gain the position it was her position by default. He usurped her kingdom Aydyndril is the seat of the Mother Confessor, Confessors themselves can tell when a person is lying especially the Mother, with out using their power. They only use it as a means to truly gain the truth in a seat of untruths... The thing is he was executing and beheading people WITH OUT HAVING THIS POWER. Meaning he did it because he could, they couldve been telling the truth but thats something he WOULD NEVER KNOW, because he is NOT a confessor. To do so without knowing the truth is treason, thats why Confessor power is absolute, Wizards created them as a way of obtaining truth with out having to use their own power and gave them this position,
Nobody care about those bloated over-long books (take it from a book reader) that ultimately ruined the story....and the only ones who do are vintage book lovers so...stop coming on the tv series videos (which We Love) sowing your negativity....

Legit one of my favorite shows. I hoped for it to be revived but now I hope it gets rebooted since a continuation seems unlikely 12 years later.
