Best one, I played over and over again... best one of them all, Onimusha 1 was okay, and 3 was meh, but 2 really captured the spirit of the whole franchise! Re make!!!
I feel like this game (especially this opening) shaped my infatuation with Japan. I went on to learn the language, live and work there 20 years later. Even now, a certain generation of Japanese guy will have their eyes filled with nostalgia when I tell them I played Onimusha. 心から感謝していますよ！鬼武者！
People start to understand Nioh 1&2 after playing these goddamn fantastic games XD And lets not forget Issen counters just like Yokai Burst counters in Nioh are our Forte >:)
Jubei is a name passed on to the strongest of the Yagyū clan. The Jubei in Onimusha 2's name is actually Muneyoshi and in Dawn of Dreams her name is Akane. By the events of DoD Muneyoshi changed his name to Sekishūsai, which is what Munenori called him at the end of the Azuchi castle mission.
Onimusha 2 Intro... in my eyes the worst of the series! (okay, can't remember Blade Warriors intro, if it even had one, but that doesn't matter) The second part of the intro is what ruined it. it was just completely out of place! YOu have all this serious stuff before, seen the townspeople getting killed, hunted down, brutally murdered... and then that bright, colorful, whacky and silly part with the Stage set pieces that destroys the entire mood. It looked more like an Intro for Sengoku Basara rather than Onimusha. And then it changed back again at the end to the serious, dark part. It was like watching a serious and dark movie, and then commercial comes up to show silly, stupid stuff, just in order to get back to the last few moments of the serious part, that they could have easily put before the commercial break. Worst Onimusha Opening so far =(
+NeroDeAngelo Pffft, get out of here with that talk. After such a dark and grim opening they obviously felt the need to lighten the tone a bit. The WORST intro without a doubt is Onimusha 4's. Just a cliched anime fight with no dark elements whatsoever. Then again that whole game stank, so that's no surprise.
Harry Drake Dawn of dream, with the exception of the silly dialogue scenes between each level, was an really awesome, and a good game. The intro was also okay. Also, only because I dislike the Onimusha 2 intro does not mean I dislike the game! The game was pretty fun! don't act like so silly and aggressive only because I said my honest OPINION abot that intro!
+Harry Drake I agree with you but the nostalgia still hits me haha they should try to match the quality of Onimusha 3 with the re-release. Actual gameplay needs to be a lot closer to the trailers/intros/scenes!
I can agreed with you, however i think that choice, and it is how i felt at time, was a way to balance with a positiv side of life, giving dream of adventur, and journey. I think that they wanted to do. Of course the opening would be more dramatic witghout, but i dont know, i feel, there is need to let some hope and positiv stuff to fight the evil of human kind.

Hope Capcom remaster them all. They recently did remaster on Warlord and it was chef kiss.
