There is plenty of Rolex supply, it’s just directed at top clients who then flip them to grey dealers. They don’t need them. Rich get richer.
Those looking to break into the watch hobby or buy a Rolex for a major life event or promotion are out of luck. It’s too bad. The wealth there in Dubai and Middle East is just mind boggling. Wow.

Watch fatigue, if there is such a diagnosis seeing prices just jump like crazy.These prices are so high that it now has literally removed out most of the people from being able to even afford one on grey market. Dealers/Flippers just continue to hype the market $ 27k for a yatchmaster that one one can really wear? Wow. Possible to look at other brands to be able to buy or afford them at retail.
Agree it’s a circus that most watch enthusiasts are becoming so tired of .it’s not about watches with so many, . It’s how much it costs and pretending that they have something hard to get or special . Most of these so called hard to get pieces are not rare they are in plentiful supply if you want to pay a silly price that has all been caused by market manipulation. Really think that everything could tumble like a house of cards .

The prices seem to be special Dubai prices. I can get some of them a lot cheaper on grey markets outside of the Arabian world.
Thanks for taking the effort to share . I get the impression with watch enthusiasts there are more and more people turning their backs on the most hyped brands and models viewing it as all a bit tiresome . I wonder if in time this will filter down to the asset chasers who only want watches that are hyped . Wouldn’t be surprised if you see big changes in the market within the next year or so

It is ridiculous that I go into my AD and his case is empty, but the Grey market guys have everything, a dozen times over. The AD doesn’t even make an effort to sell to the public. I can’t get a watch at retail and I bought 2 Rolexes previously.

You can get them at retail if you establish a relationship with Rolex boutique and are a bit patient, 1 year I was able to get two, sub and Datejust ( my favorite)
@@TheDubaiExpat Retail. I bought one about 4 or 5 years ago and another right before the market exploded, about a year or so ago. The AD put out a new model, a White DateJust 41 with Roman Numerals, Jubilee Bracelet and the yellow gold bezel. I was never a DateJust fan, but I just loved the way the watch looked and tried it on and out of the box it fit perfectly. Of course I bought it. I had bought jewelry for my wife from them also. We are on a first name basis. They send me holiday cards. Just no more Rolex at retail.

Unfortunately I think those days are gone. At least in the big cities on either coast in the US ‘develop a relationship’ now means buying many watches you don’t want - and you still may never get offered one of the variants you want.

I’m in Dubai now. Trying to find a champagne dial datejust and nothing. I’ve been here for 10 days and no watches between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. I was I could find one retail price before I leave.
0 watches (on display at least; maybe in the safe waiting for the loyal customer to come pick up) at the 3 story boutique at the Dubai Mall when I was there a few weeks ago.
I hope you find it; if not, I’m sure you’ll still have fun; amazing city (at least before it gets too hot).

Odd to have a Platinum Day Date (top of the line model, top of the line metal) with the cheaper non-fluted bezel option
Odd to think there IS a fluted bezel on a Platinum Rolex. Platinum is too soft to make a platinum bezel. There is no such thing a a fluted bezel platinum Rolex.

A few years ago I was in Pattaya, Thailand. Visited a “Pawnshop” that had many Rolex and Omega watches with the serials mostly buffed off. I asked how much for a Sea Master chronograph and he told me that he will sell the entire lot to one buyer from Dubai. Seems that wealthy Asians are relived of them by unscrupulous nighttime companions who seldom report the incident.

Oh come on, I live in Switzerland. Most of these models are very hard to find models in Switzerland too but the grey market in here sells them much much lower than these incredible prices. For instance, you can buy a brand new rolex sub for 15-25 k dollars. The blue sub in the video is being sold at 50k. Oh come on. No rolex lover would pay this price if he/she has opportunity to go to another country.
You obviously don’t know your watches mate. The blue sub is a white gold model. If you can get them at 25k usd, you’ll be selling everything you own to buy all of them at that price.

These guys are acting like insiders. They aren’t - they’re resellers. I respect the business they’ve created but they’re just guessing - and probably badly. They need to stick to selling watches. We’ll all find out shortly.

Sorry but ridiciolous ask prices by Mohammed for almost all Rolexes in his box... $17.7k for the black explorer II made me laugh the most...i have the white one, happy to give it to Mohammed at $15k so that he easily makes $3-4k on it :))
Agreed. The black dial was offered to me for AED44000 a couple of weeks back and I thought it was on the higher side. Didn't seal the deal. This AED65K is just ridiculous.

I started my collection with watches made in my country. Panzera was my first big buy. Then I bought seiko. I will never buy a Rolex. My dad had one and when the movement broke down, it was going to cost $10,000 to fix it.
