She slowly started to move my direction. From around 7-8m distance i have started to as her about available Rolex. She stopped to walk toward me me and just said nothing available, and stand still, not a single step further. Just stopped walking. Her face was showing no respect to someone who actually willing to spend USD 20k for a watch. Im not sure, is it my me who has a problem? Or the brand has a problem? From my experience , visited many Rolex boutiques: from out of 10 different shop visits, i can say that maybe 2 boutiques was welcoming and entertaining my questions. The rest not even border to talk, or to chat.
Allocation of production is by square footage and weighted by prominence. All the airport locations are owned by larger groups and as such the extra product goes to the AD “preferred flipper” and all the two tone and iced out junk that nobody wants goes to the airport store. Airport has good security, so you staff it with a couple of minimum wage flunkies and you’re set.
Im sure they will have found the keys if you offered to buy that diamond encrusted model for 98,000, arrogant attitude of the company. Buy an alternative
What does it cost to have a shop unit in that terminal? No keys for the stock, no stock to sell. What an indictment of a screwed up capital market. Unreal.
“We can’t sell you a watch because we don’t have keys to the cases!” That’s possibly the lamest 💩 excuse ever for not showing, handling or selling watches. Especially at an international airport AD location. Everyone capable of entering the store is going somewhere. They must have boarding passes and have passed security. That’s REALLY hard to establish a preferred/exclusive customer base when every possible customer is coming or going. You don’t live in Dubai and decide I’m going to go buy an airplane ticket so I can go to the Rolex store and buy a watch. Ridiculous.

The AD which you purchased the high-end Rolex would have already contacted and offered you another Rolex watch. You don't need to wear your premium Rolex with a nice outfit to be offered to buy one elsewhere.

Nothing. just walked in with my family and when we met an SA. My teenaged son told him that I was looking for a sport model of Rolex. And, then he looked on me a few seconds and told me that he has a 43 mm of SD. When I said OK, I wanted that one. He asked me to wait for a moment as he went to somewhere and got back to me with that angel. Can’t believe that it was very easy. FYI, we just got back from Switzerland where we visited several ADs there and was not successful to get a Rolex there. or, even in my Bangkok where we lived, the local ADs just put me on a request list and I have never gotten a call.
I gave up trying to buy Rolex pieces in Dubai a while ago as it’s impossible. My local AD in Europe has so many pieces for sale in the window and I myself picked up a GMT Master II Zombie from the window last month whilst walking past. I’ve seen other ADs in other countries with over 110 pieces for sale in the window including platinum pieces, GMT etc. So that’s why I don’t bother trying to buy in Dubai now.
