The ADs are in cohoots with the guys in the gray market who offer generous incentives to be supplied with stock. That's how the shops are so wellstocked and the ADs so ill stocked.
Cahoots? Yeah sure that’s usually the case I agree
I agreed....one gray dealer in Bencoolen area did confess this fact. Bunch of crooks !
family owned / co-related with AD back door business as usual . Going to AD and asking for a sports series eg sub, daytona and there will be that waiting list but its all pilled up at grey market. Now stock markets / crypto are bad and high CPI data , those sellers will have to lower the price for the watches .
Nice video of Far east Plaza. The other plaza to try is Bencoolen. Also high quality pre-owned retailers there as well.
Very helpful for people coming for a holiday and watch shopping. I visited the place and bought a submariner from another shop adjacent to Goldman. Thank you.
I am traveling to SG next week! Thank you for the eye-opener! Great Video!
If you not Singapore national you are eligible for 100 tax refund so that's 18-25% discount right away.
Coming to Singapore from the US in a few months, this was REALLY helpful, thank you!
Fantastic!! Swipe em AMEX cards if any tickles your fancy!
Oh bro, thank you so much for this video. I’ve been coming to Singapore for 30 years and staying at the Grand Hyatt for almost 15 everytime; yet I managed to miss this.
I always go to Far East to buy a SIM card, exchange $ and get out. Next time will definitely hang around; even if for window shopping.
Congrats on the YM, and also the Daytona. That particular one is one of my favorite references. Stealth wealth.
Oh thank you for the kind words! Every floor has a surprise :)
Singaporean here - great content buddy. Another place to check out is Bencoolen, loads of shops there.
Thanks mate!
Indian from the name xD 😂
@@longlivemetal1997 there are lots of Indian Singaporean in the country. Indian ethnicity Singaporean citizen. It’s 2022 and it ain’t hard to be literate nowadays.
That’s the most Rolexes in the shortest amount of time I think I’ve ever seen!
Haha the Rolex AD is just right around the corner… 5 mins away.. I am not surprised most of the watches from there go directly to the grey market at Far East
Clearly demand does not outweigh supply as proven in this, and many other videos. AD's continuously bouncing these watches to the grey market for absolutely ridiculous markups is going to cause Rolex to open their own stores in the not too distant future. The prices on display are disgusting and anyone that is stupid enough to let these resellers get rich flipping said watches is an idiot.
"clearly demand does not outweigh supply as proven in this..." well, the only thing this proved (imho) is that demand does not outweigh supply at these absurd prices. However, demand outweighs supply at MSRP. There are millions and millions of people (actual watch enthusiasts) on "wait lists" who are trying to buy at retail. That's a massive demand that clearly the ADs can't meet. They're too busy selling at 4x the price to grey dealers every time they get any stock . But even if they didn't, the demand at MSRP is so ridiculous that I think there would still be a massive shortage at ADs. Rolex has become a huge flex brand. It's starting to remind me of Richard Mille or the early 2000s LV lol. For me Rolex no longer interests me and I'm so glad I don't have to deal with none of this non sense. Find these Grey market dealer videos hilarious tho would these fools paying 5x the price for entry level Swiss pieces 😂.
@homest harry
Definitely the Rolex SA have to close All AD globally in order to prove that they innocent otherwise they are just like thugs of gang with the AD
be careful what u wished for, if ad are selling to anybody that walks in, would u still buy a rolex knowing the moment u walk out of the ad your watch will lose half its value?
Yes, because I’m not buying the watch as an investment. I’m buying the watch because I love it. Same as I do with guitars, guns, cars, etc.
yes, Rolex has taken over a major retail firm despite promising ADs they're not interested in retail
You need to go back to Singapore and make an updated video for June 2024.
I am in Singapore. What would you like to see?
Selling my Gold Rolex Daytona in Singapore's Grey Market! 😔

Hi, first of all I really liked your presentation of the Far East Plaza and the availability of watches there. I will maybe come to Singapore in fall and was just wondering how they react to people who just want to try on watches to get a feel for them but not buy any there. Is that ok and accepted or do they dislike that?
Have a nice remaining day.
That’s completely ok, assuming the store is fine with it. Being polite does go a long way
You can try it at the ADs, most of them have a comprehensive collection of exhibition pieces to try on nowadays.
Watch exchange seems to be pricing their Rolex more friendly 😬Thanks for sharing. #staysafe
Hi I agree, bought 2 watches from them cheers!
X. Q. Yeo did you negotiate
I hope one day the prices of Rolex etc come crashing down and people will regret their decisions to buy from the grey market. But I also understand that it is the only easy way to buy a Rolex. I got a steel sports from a boutique but that is rare. Still, I hope the stupid prices crash.
Swissarex watches are like a piece of art on your wrist. Ive never seen better craftsmanship.
Watch Exchange probably the best shop there
Thanks, just seen this. FEP has opened up after covid to be a much brighter and interesting place. Some cool start up shops.
😎😎
This is exactly the information I was looking for!
Great that it’s helping :$
Ive heard that Rolex tried to shut down Swissarex, but its a testament to their quality that theyre still going strong.
Congrats on the NWA! The RG Daytona is sure eye catching, real head-turner!
Thanks! Yeah I tried to get a deal done, but couldn’t work it out :(
Niggas Wit Attitude?
I barely see local watch videos here so this was very nice!
I read a comment from someone mentioning that when a replica factory has a waiting list, its a sign that their products are superior to the originals. In this case, Swissarex is that factory.
Congrats on your Yachtmaster. Great vid!
Thank you!!
@@watchjelly hopefully you don't have a miyota under the hood 🙂
@@watchjelly is tht an original watch or first copy sir?
Ofcourse you see Rolex everywhere now...it is the "Rolex-Bubble Season" lol
Awesome content! Did you negotiate for additional discount when purchasing from the grey market? Curious as have never been to one before
Thanks!! Usually there isn’t much room for further discounts.. at least for these sellers in Singapore since you have consignments pieces
I used to shop there whenever I visited Singapore. If you know any local people, they can bargain for you.
You dont need a local person to bargain for you. You need a local collector who can sell you some cool pieces at reasonable realistic prices. Me! Check out my collection.
Hi, I have been watching your content for a while. Recently I have been researching to buy this exact Yacht Master. There is around a $4k price difference between the newer watches and those out of warranty currently. Are the cheaper 2016 ones worth considering in your opinion? Thanks in advance
The 2016 ones are the older reference and with older movements ie 116622 vs the new ref 126622. Lower power reserve and with other lack of smaller enhancements. Your choice if it’s worth the difference
First time viewer, subscribed now. Any chance u get "lange" watches at far east Plaza??
Thanks!! Not that I’ve seen… probably try “GR Luxury” in mandarin gallery (I think they only open at designated times; call beforehand”
333A Orchard Road #03-29 Mandarin Gallery, 238897
Thx for the info, will check during my next visit....btw am from Bangalore India.
Can I ask Sir they’re selling all legitimate and authentic watches right? Looking to buy submariner black
For the most part… if not all. Caveat emptor… look for one that you trust
I have never found a lange sohne watch anywhere in world in grey market, its a class above
Oh I have seen it from time to time
@@watchjelly you have seen it never mentioned where baby ear to ear🤣🤣🤣
I hope you got a good price, because all prestige watches are going south now
Where did u see this trend? I just visited almost the entire Chicago watch stores last Saturday, and they have nothing for sale. I only spotted one new day-date in Tourneau (a woman's version), and the basic 3255 pre-owned ones are selling for 52000-56000 usd...
@@ProCelestialEmpire grey market prices are slowly coming down weekly.
Many people are getting burnt out and trying to dump their Rolex on grey market dealers who won’t buy them because they are already overstocked since more clients selling back than buying more watches.
The bubble is finally bursting 🙏🏼
@@auxmike718 happy to know it. why those owners got burnt out? I thought they made a lot of money overall. Hope this continues to crash to its normal shape because current market is just absurd. do u think as this goes on, the new items will become more available?
@@ProCelestialEmpire probably from people who think they can make it go down by continuing to say this
@@ProCelestialEmpire he said "going"... As in its barely starting to happen. Give it time, geez lol.
Thank you for another great video
Thank you!
Thanks for the video. Coming to Singapore next year from 🇳🇬 Nigeria. What part of singapore is this particular mall located and also would like to have an idea of the price of the yatch master.
Many thanks
Hey there it’s in the video description
Why date just in Kuala Lumpur International Airport is $300 cheaper comparing to Singapore price?
Hi man, nice video and good information. Can we do negotiation in far east and if we can how many can we get just your opinion?
Prices are fixed more or less. There’s not much wriggle room for consignment pieces, and as for the rest prices are pretty transparent
Awesome. Great info there bro 🔥👍
You’re welcome!
They shouldnt show the serial number.
Fakers will use them to make fake watches.
Its good practices. Because someone will say your watch is stolen when it wasnt in the first place. Its a future problem to avoid
Buying directly from the boutique will give you a 100% authentic watch compared to a re-seller because you don’t know the parts within were tempered before. Right to say so?
Makes sense. If you want to be 100% sure with 0% doubt.
For grey market - I suggest going to a dealer that is reputable and those that you trust. Make absolutely sure they are a registered business such that watches they sell you, if proven to be fake, measures can be taken to enforce the law against this. Again, depends on the city where you’re in.
But if you’re talking about sports models that are already discontinued, then this is a moot point :)
Nice and thanks for sharing will make a trip there.
Very cool and feels like within reach.will buy one day
I am in Singapore now trying to find from the retailer they do have but fully booked any recommendation
Try Watch exchange. Best to walk-in on a weekday
thank you for your video, it is really healpful
Everytime i went to Singapore i stay at the hotel next door to Far East or Opposite Far East…love it.
You know your stuff.!
So with so many shop with rolex models, there is no impulse to say ...well so and so here have the price of $...and you
ie match the price/lower the price w/e?
Shops like these are how the overwhelming majority of Rolexes have ended up on the wrists of end users for many decades. ADs essentially function as wholesalers for these guys. Rolex prefers this indirect sales model.
can we flip the watches and they allow nego ?
How much roughly a submariner in there?
Its rumored that even watch experts cant tell Swissarex replicas from originals. Thats how good they are.
WOuld you recommend Brightime as a reputable grey dealer?
Never bought from them.. so i can’t really say
After watching your video, I went to watch exchange to check it out. Just want to ask how reputable are they as some of my friends never heard of them.
They haven’t been around for that long. Under 1.5 years or so. So just do your due diligence having a chat with them and all
@@watchjelly not much information online as well, so far reviews are quite scarce. Any suggestions what should I look out for?
Hello Sir, do you know where to buy tudor watches ?
Depending on the model, go to the ADs. Otherwise grey market dealers
that deep blue yachtmaster.. wow
i know right.. no joke
What is grey market?
Any chances that the watches might be imitation in grey market?
Just curious, why do you want to trade-in for a
rose gold Daytona?
No special reason really other than wanting to try owning one for some time.. it’s more the collector in me wanting to give it a go!
@@watchjelly I see.. Thanks for sharing.. i do have a rose gold full bracelet and rose gold ceramic. I just pick up the chocolate dial yacht master. Most of the folks in US prefer the white gold..
Yeah white gold is definitely preferred for its subtlety. Older Asian folks definitely prefer YG. RG is the happy medium for older millennials
Very helpful
Is there anybody who can listen music and voice at the same time ?
Hi, what does grey market means?
Why not in Authorized Rolex?
Scarcity? What scarcity? All I am seeing is abundance. Lol
Well, the grey market has almost everything you can dream of
Is it pretty safe buying watches from these grey dealers in Singapore? is there a risk of picking up fakes?
Relatively speaking it’s a bit safer… but caveat emptor.. still best to do your own due diligence
What are you using to record this? its nice =)
It’s just my iPhone
Is the price negotiable? 3-5% off or only sell as advertised?
As advertised
The prices are on the high side. damn
Yeah this was almost 2 weeks ago. It has softened a tad
Other than this mall, where would you suggest to buy non rolex pre owned watches?
You could look at
1) 390 Victoria St, #01-51/52 Golden Landmark Shopping Complex, Singapore 188061
2) Lucky Plaza, 238863
If you are looking for rare special pieces, you can check with a proper collector. Me!
you haven't been to the Bencoolen...
I just might soon! Let’s see if I can find the time to go
Rolex looks overhyped mainly due to grey market hoarding.
Can you show the prices of watch
Seems like you bought at peak price. But who cares enjoy the watch. I bought my Pepsi close to peak too, but I have no regrets. It’s mine for life
Right below actually. But it’s continued to soften more… love it though :)
@@watchjelly congrats
far east plaza is the best
Are the watches there 100% authentic?
👍👍
The price tags are not cheap at all.
They won’t be! FYI these are in SGD
Mate, Are they authentic or refurbished ones?
Thanks
I think that’s a question for the individual shops. They’re legitimate businesses in a country that has a strict rule of law. What do you think?
Rare like diamonds
Are those prices in USD?
SGD!!
It is still too expensive paying for three watches only get one watch crazy price
Only time will tell whether they turned green with envy or not, when they see me wearing 41mm dial wristwatch, all stainless Steel and sapphire glass watch.
Excellent video. Any Breitling’s to be had?
Yeah probably
omg i saw the oyster perpetual in tiffany blue price at S$30k+?!!! Ridiculous!. A 36mm cost only S$7999. well unless buyers really don’t mind getting at that price of cos 😂
What choice do you have? The ADs won't sell you a perpetual unless you have a "relationship" with them - which means buying 4 or 5 other watches from them which adds up to about 30k before you can be on the waitlist for the perpetual!
Are these USD prices or Singapore dollars?
Singapore dollars! Divide it by 1.38 to get USD
I see a non date sub for 23000 is that in singapore dollars? which comes to USD 16,500 ish? thats double the price for a brand new one from an AD... what on earth...I see that everywhere, they are just waiting for idiots to pay that price.. meanwhile plenty of watches out there...
Plenty of idiots out there also unfortunately
How much?….
far east plaza is a tourist trap... watches mark-up extra 15/25%...if u want a real cheap rolex with guarantees go to peoples park complex or balastair road... steel datejust 40mm only sg$7,000.00 or any pawns shop in serangoon road...or rolex xchange where u can trade down/up yr. rolex .
Proof please. Otherwise it’s one person’s opinion :)
@@watchjelly where do I send proof
Are Rolex prices coming down?
It seems to be softening a tad.. more so in HK than in Singapore
How much is that yacht master 😊?
Hahaha approx 18K USD brand new
@@watchjelly oh ..24,300 sgd ahh 😁
Do any of the shops you like have instagram accounts ?
If you use telegram, add watchexchange at t.me/watchexchangesg
it is crazy watch prices stay so high when so many are available to buy
Think you got it the other way around - the high prices is the reason there are many out there for sale
@@watchjelly that is because the AD supply is to sold to flippers .. how any watches are actually sold to end users and not between dealers .. it is just an investment
Okay.. and?
I’ll do you a favour & explain:
People want them. There are collectors and there are speculators.
Flippers are Flippers because prices are high with overwhelming demand, and these flippers want to make money. It’s the way the world works
@@watchjelly yes but there seems no shortage of rolex at the going rate
There’s no shortage to VIP clients ( a lot of them flippers or grey dealers).
Shortages are for the rest
Well at least they are much better than AD whom always tells clients all cow and bull shits things there is long interest list for those professional model .. yet many of those model are from local AD which is less than 3 months old
People actually pay those absurd prices that are way above retail?
@Simster89 Well here’s hoping we all get that kind of money and don’t spend it on a overpriced Rolex. XD
I hope those prices are not in US dollars lol
Why would they be?
@@watchjelly because most places show in US dollars because they are the Global currency. And since it said like 24000 thats only 800 us dollars if its listed is 24000 TWD.
Nah, that’s not how it works in developed parts of Asia these days
All the wonderful special and interesting watches available and you buy a Rolex. How prosaic. Has it increased your views?
If you’re happy to sponsor a chunk of change to us, we will definitely buy some Langes. Perhaps you should check out some of the other independent watches we bough & featured in our earlier videos
do not feed the rolex beast. its way overpriced
Big Boys Toy's
Dealers are slowly releasing watches to the mass market. they are NOT buying anything in unless its retail or below. Good luck to those gold watches.
Sports models are never going back to retail; just like BTC never going back to sub $5000, unless completely mismanaged by the brand.
Calling BS on this :)
@@watchjelly You just wait and see. Pandas have just went below 50k sgd. If that isn't a sign that the overpriced gold/half gold models are going to return to their below retail status soon, I don't knw what will.
Wake me up when it happens :) (*yawn*)
If you are looking for good 5 digit ref Rolexes, and not silly overhyped new ones, hit me up! Local Singaporean collector
AFTER COUNTLESS TIMES OF BEGGING YOU STILL HAVENT GOT ANYTHING FROM THE AD?
Lol nice to see you back again. I did get a wimbeldon, thank you for asking :$
AD will push you to buy other brands before releasing any Rolex. Rolex has become their bargaining chip. My friend just bought a Rolex from Hour Glass...talking of no stock...is BS.
75% of the watches are probably excellent replicas with stupid prices, you can't trust a GREY MARKET.
Perhaps where you live sure. I think if you’ve read anything about the rule of law in Singapore, maybe you’ll have a much better understanding of how things work. Reserve your judgement being doing so
