Hello fellow Kiwi knitter! Just came across your channel now. Great to hear a Kiwi accent on RUclips! Love your description of the project, you make it very clear on the pattern, materials and mods. Kia ora!
Aw thank you Helga! Thanks for watching :) how cute is the Ankers pattern?! I especially love the Summer shirt, what did you choose for your yarn? I'd love to know!
Thank you! They’re cute huh, they remind me of sprinkles 🥰 haha, it’s really not that bad! I’m the worst at feeling sensitive with scratchy fibres... but I still think I’ll stick to Alpaca! Thanks for watching!
I'm on my 6th and 7th PetiteKnit sweater patterns and I've knit two No Frills (definitely would love a third). I love how she has a range of skill levels and techniques, but knows what's practical and wearable. :)
Woop! Glad to know there is someone else out there who went down the PK rabbit hole >_< my next two projects are different designers though, haha. So true! Everything is just so effortlessly stylish and wearable. Thanks for watching!
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does someone know of a way to get back into an instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the password. I appreciate any help you can offer me!
@Terrence Santino thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
What a beautiful No Frills. Great idea to use those yarns. I live in the US, so these days I am all about summer knitting. I am doing my very first shortie socks with magic loop (I use DPNs for socks) so far I love it.
Thank you Toni! It's cute huh :) oh yes, I'm starting to plan my Summer projects now! We still have a few cold months ahead, but it'll be here before we know it. Your socks sound great! I love my DPN's, I totally loathe magic loop! Haha, just seems to take forever. Happy knitting!
New to your site and watched it because of the no frills sweater. I enjoyed the video but because I am American, had a bit of trouble understanding what you said about Ravelry. I want to knit this pattern and where on Ravelry can I check if I get stuck. Thanks so much.
Hey there! The link to Ravelry and the pattern is in the description, but here it is again: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/no-frills-sweater there are loads of helpful comments within other people's projects if you get stuck. Enjoy!
Love Ravelry, found some natural/cream wool and making a slouch beanie for myself. Don’t like the hasty decrease on pattern so modifying for slightly more conical shape, so it slouches nicer :) Ended up knitting too late and 2 did rows backwards tonight 😅 Unpicked it all and will finish by the weekend - perfect for blustery beach walks in the Far North.
Looking to knit my first sweater , and was told this is great for beginners... do you agree? I really need a step by step tutorial, because I do not read patterns. First time seeing your channel.
Yeah I think it would be good for a beginner! If you get stuck on any of the stitches, just look them up, there’s loss of helpful videos. I like these patterns as they’re written with a beginner in mind. Good luck!
Thank you! Just under 5 of the speckles and just over 4 of the mohair, there are a few more notes within my Ravelry project too if you wanted to have a nosey www.ravelry.com/projects/foxesblog/no-frills-sweater thank for watching!
I think that they are in my Ravelry pattern notes? You basically knit to the best length then decrease every second round as I’ve mentioned in the episode :) happy knitting!
Just found your channel! Love it! I am currently knitting a sweater by Dorthe Skappel ( a Norwegian design). Oversized sweater with hood :) But I must say I fell in love with this! I think this must be my next project :) But I cannot seem to find the confetti yarn anywhere :/ Seems Regia has stopped producing it. Bummer. Do you know of any good confetti yarns that resemble the one you used?
Oh thank you! Glad you are enjoying my episodes :) ooh, I don't know if I have seen anything like it, I do have a sweater quantity left (I was going to make one for myself but will try something different) if you would like me to work out what I have, what the cost was and shipping to you, let me know!
@@FoxesBlogKnits Wow that is so kind of you! Unfortunately I live in Norway, literally the other side of the world from you :P So I assume shipping would cost an arm and a leg! :/ However I will continue to look for a smiliar style. I have found a few on etsy that i like, so I might try that :) Am looking foreward to your future videos! They give me so much inspiration :) And I just joined Ravelry because of you mentioning it! And I already found so many things I want to make :D
@@mathilde2011 True! Shipping to you from here would be about 244 NK, I don't know if that's a lot, but it sounds like buying from Etsy might be the way to go, and supporting small :) hope you find something! x
I do within my monthly podcasts if they are a current WIP, but I share the finished project as they are paid for patterns, so sharing too much wouldn't be fair to the designer :) but thanks for the feedback! Will be sure to include more within those longer videos. Thanks for watching!
It depends on the pattern, this was made in one piece so didn’t need any sewing together, but if a pattern is made in sections, blocking first ensures a better made garment :)
Ho! I Just purchased this pattern and I can't see the instructions for the ribbed neckline I see in the photos and in your video, can you please help me understand? Thanks!!
Oh sure! It’s a top down sweater so is directly after the cast on and joining in the round, it’s just a 1x1 rib pattern on a smaller needle, then you swap to a bigger needle to begin the body/increases ☺️ good luck!
Aaah you came to the rescue! Thank you so much!! I’m thinking which Suri alpaca blend would be better to use instead of the mohair? I haven’t seen one that is as white as yours (the cumulus you used before is more pearl than white) if you have any idea let me know! Xxx
You’re welcome!! I also couldn’t find a super white alpaca 😔 the pearl colour was the lightest I’ve found, but I’ll keep searching! I’m sure there’ll be one out there! Thanks so much for watching x
Thanks for sharing. My No Frills pattern and yarn have been waiting for months to get stared. Maybe this week!!
I’m knitting this pattern for the first time. I heard it was really good for beginners😊

@@FoxesBlogKnits I did a test run in Comfy Cotton before using Rowan cotton cashmere in the colorway Linen.
Ooh nice choice!
Just had an arrival of wool for my No Frills Sweater. Was knitting my gauge as I watched your vid - very excited to cast on!
Amazing Peta! It's a great pattern, thanks so much for watching :)
Beautiful sweater. I just love the soft speckles. Wool makes me itch - so cant imagine what mohair would do. I felt itchy just listening. 😂😂

I made the no frills in a silk/ cotton blend and I love it. I am so sensitive to wool too

I ordered yarn from Etsy to make this sweater- I can’t wait ! Yours came out so lovely 💕😍
pretty sweater & looks so cozy.

Has anyone used a particular video to help with the short row shaping for this pattern?
Take a look at Very Pink Knits for a GSR method, she has some great resources 👍🏼

Could you please tell me where I could find the pattern directions for making this sweater?
Hi Laura, it should be in the description? It’s a pattern you have to purchase, you can buy it through Ravelry or her website ☺️
Perhaps it would be nice to see your projects in development and explain the patterns you use.
Thank you
