Thank you for explaning these nupps. Because I am knitting the Magnolia cardigan, and I don’t get good nupps. They are small and not popping out like I thought they would. I am on the row with the 2 nupps making, but I pull out a few rounds and start again with more loops. Have a nice day 😊
Call me "late to the Magnolia party" but I just found the pattern and knit the Magnolia Chunky for my adult daughter. I worked 2 strands of yarn using Plymouth Aireado in the light denim. The sweater turned out beautiful and the yarn was a dream to work with. The sweater is warm without being sweaty. The pattern is was easy to follow, both written and the chart. I did struggle picking up the stitches again for the arms but once I talked with someone who had already made the sweater, I made it work and the second arm went well. Currently knitting up the Magnolia Little :)
I’m making the magnolia cardigan and have just started the sleeves. I’m playing yarn chicken with the mohair part that is a very lightly hand dyed 75/25 mohair silk blend in a beautiful tones of very light cream and rust that I have combined with two other yarns., bamboo, linen and a illimani Sabre organic cotton and baby alpaca. , both of which are naked! The fabric this all makes on 6 mm needles it simply scrumptious, I can’t wait to finish and be able to wear it. I have loved every minute of this project. I highly recommend, anyone to give it a try once you have mastered basic sweater knitting. Yours is beautiful!
Oh Susan! That sounds so lovely :) your yarn sounds absolutely dreamy, beautiful tones, here's hoping you have enough! Let me know how you go. So glad you have been enjoying making yours too, thank you for watching :)
I've just separated the sleeves and body and I'm approaching the length to start the lace pattern. I've never done NUPPs before, and as I searched for NUPPs and the sweater, I found you! I laughed when you explained how you felt about the NUPPs. At least I know that when I get into it and feel like cursing or throwing it, I will know I'm not alone. Thanks for the link to the video.
@@FoxesBlogKnits I'm at the point now where it's time to make the 'buds'. I knit a swatch and practiced last night. I had found a video online for 3 different ways to make them. The version that showed how to do it with a crochet hook seemed like the best way to learn this stitch, and it worked out ok, not great, but ok. It will be slow going to be sure. Can't wait to share the f.o. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks.
Beautiful sweater! I made the Magnolia Little Cardigan for my granddaughter and it turned out amazing! I have the Magnolia sweater in my queue to make for myself. I love the pearl suri you used. I might have to get some. 🥰
Thank you! Oh the little cardigan would have been so sweet, I’d like to have a go at making one myself ☺️ yes! Do! It’s so beautiful, I love the champagne colour it creates with the natural base, so flattering and snuggly! Thanks for watching!
I love how your Magnolia turned out! It looks beautiful on your. And man, I FEEL YOU on the bobbles... lots of swearing over here when I was working through that part as well. My lord that was a challenge... I really liked how it turned out in the end though and I'd like to do another without the mohair and with short sleeves, I think that would be lovely.
Yes! I saw in the project comments on Ravelry it had been featured, do the bobbles! They suck so much but there aren't too many, and such a pretty sweater as a reward :)
It’s stunning!! I’ve wanted to knit a magnolia for a while as I have that copy of Laine but I’ve been hesitant as I don’t have a lot of experiences of knitting in the round or any experience of lace. One day though! Your version is so pretty 😍
Thanks so much Hannah! :) You really should give it a go when you feel a little more confident, the knitting in the round with this one is actually really simple as it's just the one style of increases, so not too complicated. The lace when you break it down isn't as daunting as I thought it would be, but it's a really lovely sweater to graduate too, hopefully soon! x
Foxes Blog Knits I’ll definitely try it then! It’s so beautiful and elegant. I’ve knit the Felix pullover and that’s just yarn overs for increases. I think the different increases can be really intimidating!
Definitely! The SSK decreases threw me at first, but really they're just a decrease through the back loop (kinda feel like that abbreviation stitch is unnecessarily complicated, haha, and they look just the same. Ooh nice, I have the Felix jumper in my favourites already! So many projects, so little time...
That's fantastic Patricia! The cardigan is a lovely version, I'm keen to make some more cardigans myself, perfect for Spring weather here in NZ when you need to not be so wrapped up :) thanks for watching!
Do you have any sweater pattern recommendations for a beginner sweater knitter? I really want to get into making sweaters but I'm a little scared and don't know where to start.
Yes! Absolutely, I think that the No Frills sweater by Petite Knit ( you can watch my FO video too, there are some good links in there) would be great. Or, if that still looks a little tricky, and it might with the German Short Row shaping, she also has a Novice Sweater pattern which would definitely be perfect. That is knit in the round and instead of shaping, there are just increases in each row which I think would be a little less scary. Both of those include ribbing for the neck, body and cuffs, plus increases to make the neck and decreases in the sleeve. All manageable techniques for a first attempt, and I think that her patterns are written well for beginners. Let me know how you get on! x
Foxes Blog Knits thanks for this. I too was looking for a novice sweater knitter pattern. Your FO turned out stunning. I hope to get to that level some day.
No worries! Here is a link to the one I was thinking of, best of luck! www.petiteknit.com/collections/english-knitting-patterns-beginners/products/novice-sweater-1
Thanks for the video on this sweater. It’s lovely. I am a relatively new knitter and am knitting my first sweater, and it’s Petit Knit’s No Frills sweater. I would definitely recommend this sweater for a first time. It’s an easy pattern to follow and we’ll written. I am just using 1 yarn for this first sweater just to get the hang of it.
Hi Toni, this is a paid for pattern so you will need to buy it, but it's not been translated to Spanish, just English and Danish, perhaps you could ask the designer? Good luck!

Oh Wendy, they’re the worst!! It should just be a popcorn stitch, haha, love the result though, it’ll look great! Happy knitting :)

How bad are those frikkin bobbles?!? Haha, glad I’m not the only one 😂 a short sleeve linen version would be so nice, let me know if you make one!
I haven’t knot a sweater yet. Thank you showing this so I know to work my way up to it!!
You are welcome! I'm sure you will be able to once you have a couple under your belt. It's such a pretty finished garment! :)
Very nice sweater 😍🧶 i want to learn how to knit lace very soon so I’ll definitely check the pattern - but already have so much on my ravelry queue 🤪
Yes do! It's a really great introduction to lace :) haha, the never ending Ravelry queue... I feel you there! Thanks so much for watching xx
So pretty! This one's been on my list ever since I saw it in Laine magazine, but haven't had the courage for bobbles yet.

I have the Magnolia on my to do list . I would like to do a cardigan version, more useful for me. This inspires me to get on it already! Thank you.

Such a beautiful sweater!!! my only issue will be bubbles, I have never knit a project with them, maybe this could be the first one
Luckily, there are only a few! Totally give it a go, it's so pretty :)
Beautiful sweater! Love the colour too! I haven't made one yet. Iam knitting the Cockatoo Brae by Kate Davies right now.
Thank you so much, Gayle! That Kate Davies pattern looks lovely, would love to have a go at colourwork soon :) thanks for watching!
At what point is the increase stitch worked into the pattern "to keep pattern balance at the front edges?"
I am working on the cardigan
Oh lovely Norma! The cardigan version seems much more wearable, happy knitting!
Great vid!
Thank you! xx

Aw so gorgeous but the material I got is for 3mm kneedles and only 20%wool☹️
Aw no Yazbeth!! Well, at least it won't felt and it will be super wearable, acrylic isn't all bad :) hope you enjoy making this as much as I did!
